Shirleys Tippy Canoe

I have lived in the Gresham and sandy area all my life and I just found out about this place! It is amazing! Great food for such a good price! The $$$ yelp gives is misleading. Everything comes in huge portions so it is totally worth every penny! We went in around lunch time but got breakfast anyways and we split The Logger breakfast which was $18 (I don't know how much or if it extra it costs to split the couple we were with insisted on paying so I never saw the bill) which was such a bargain you have no idea. The meal comes with 3 eggs, hash browns, sausage, thick slice of ham, 4 pieces of bacon, biscuits and gravy, and 2 pancakes. Oh and toast too! After noon they stop making pancakes which was sad but I tell you this, there was still NO lack of food! The eggs and hash came on one plate, all the meat on another, and the biscuits and gravy on another heaping plate. We both pretty much had no breakfast that morning so we were very hungry. My husband has a very good appetite and I have a decent one as well. I tell you though we still had a third left that we couldn't possibly have eaten and we didn't even get the pancakes that it usually comes with! My hubby and I will be going there again and again! We haven't even tried lunch or dinner yet! There portions are huge! The price Is right, and service was great too! The outside seating was great and the place was so clean! This is a must go to place! I highly recommend!

Had breakfast there with six other people.  Not one complaint, waitress was good, food was good, and was quiet enough to talk across the table to each other. Shirley has done a great job with this place, hope many of you who read this and give it a try. Also has a great outdoor patio in the summer.

Last night I had dinner at one of my favorite places in the Gorge. Shirley's Tippey Canoe. As usual it was wonderful. From the hostess to the waiter all went flawlessly.

I decided to have the clam chowder. It was thick and creamy and not held to long in a holding ban marie. The vegetables were still crisp and fresh lending to their claim everything there is made fresh.

I then went into the house salad and added bay shrimp. Nice crisp lettuce and shrimp full of flavor accompanied. The 1000 island dressing was some of the best I have had.

I ended with the appetizer of crab cakes. They were very good but the filling seemed to overtake the crab. I don't know what crab costs these days but they seemed to have cut back from other times I have had them.

Overall a very good experience and Tiffany the waiter took great care of us. BTW...it looks like they are going to have a wonderful Easter buffet today.
