This unassuming swanky establishment has been somewhat disappointing and off putting during several experiences. On two separate Sundays my boyfriend and I frequented this lovely low keyed and pleasantly established decorated environment. On both occasions there seemed to be some type of event taking place.....birthdays or an anniversary of some sort and may be the explanation for the poor service received. I was basically seat yourself and good luck flagging a waiter down. The drinks were so so and the appetizers on the first visit was decent and prompted us to return, but was disappointing the second time around but the drinks improved on this visit so alas it has been a touch and inconsistent go process with what could be a regular local spot in an unexpected neighborhood and ugly strip mall.

It is their poor service, upon my two visits and so so over priced appetizers that has stopped me from attempting to have dinner here. The music was loud and those whom appeared to be management (but you wouldn't be able to tell by how casual they were dressed) draws away from what a fabulous place this could be for the diverse neighborhood.

    I wish this place well.

Very nice spot. Decor is up to par and it has parking! Decent bottle prices and good music.

The place is ok. Was there for a private event and I must say this place is very small for events since seating was an issue. The drinks are somewhat ok, but for some reason the prices were different with each bartender and they took forever to take our order.  The Dj was good, but little hint bro...if you play something and everybody walk out of the dance floor, then maybe you shouldn't keep playing it ... With a mature crowd why in the world will you play dembow?  Anyways. The place like I said is ok and people if you open a tab, please check the prices for your drinks or you can easily be overcharged.  Will i ever go back to this place ?  NEGATIVO...ni loco que este

This place was not worth the trip from Queens. The waiter took forever to take our order, then we order some finger food
that also took an eternity, once we got it the good was cold. What a waste of my time!!!!!!!

As nice as this place is, the wait staff is unprofessional and rude. We celebrated two b days in one night, and we spent a lot of money, and to be treated the way we were treated was un called for. The waitress kept trying to drop off the check like we werent going to keep buying bottles, hookahs etc...  She was pretty much retarted. Like I told her several times bring me the bill when I tell you to bring it.

The only reason we had a good time was because we made it happen. The staff including security sucked ass.....

I should have written this review back in July when my parents threw a party at Silhouette's for me to celebrate my new job. The owners were incredibly accommodating and the party was very reasonably priced (so I'm told).  The service on the night of the party was outstanding. No glass remained empty for long and the various courses were brought out on time.  The food itself was outstanding.  I especially loved the steak with yucca fries.  Very tasty and I really appreciated that they served a traditional Latino side dish (yucca) in an updated way. The owners went above and beyond.  The space itself is very cool in design and atmosphere.  It's modern but fun.  We got a lot of compliments for choosing this venue.

My friend and I went on 11/4/2012 and did both the restaurant and lounge.

As for the restaurant, the food was a hit or miss. Both appetizers were lackluster and had ingredients that were not listed on the menu. For example, a salad than included boiled unflavored fingerling potatoes. However, the skeak was excellent. The server was adequate but not stellar.

Now, for the lounge.  The crowd for the most part was skectchy!!!! They also  double the cost of bottle of wines during lounge hours from the prices listed on the wine menu. So, a $65 dollar is now a $130. The hookah "blue mist" was great. The music was HORRIBLE!!!! The dj constantly interrupted with numerous "shout-outs" and the music seemed disjointed. The English and Spanish music both were a miss which was the main reason we left and decided to go to another lounge.

I really wanted to give the place a chance but I I would not return. The music was a done deal for me. For the prices charged,  you have numerous other options.

Im not sure why so low reviews but here's mine... My boyfriend took me here for dinner for my birthday. At first when I got out of the cab I wasn't sure what to think (its in a strip mall) but once he took me inside it was beautiful. Staff so nice, food amazing, apple martini awesome, very clean, bathrooms clean, good mix of music. After we ate, we went to the bar had more drinks and hookah. We had a blast. Men this is a good place to take a date for dinner, without having to go to the city. After 10 11pm people start showing up to party the night away and it got packed quickly, and it was a thursday night...  We will be back again.

The decoration is beautiful. The food is bad and there weren't many choices. The music was bad as well. The drinks were good. To be fair, I did go the month they opened, maybe things have changed now.

I Loved it!  The food is amazing, I had the Sea Bass for dinner. This place is just beautiful, sort of aqua -cozy with wide screen TVs and a beautiful bar set up.  Reminds me of a James Bond movie.  Very upscale and great for meeting friends or Girls Night Out. My waiter was polite and the food was excellent.  Silhouette has signature cocktails.  It was my first visit and I really liked the attention to detail that the owners decided on for this space.  I will be back to experience more of what Silhouette has to offer.

This is a brief review for the Lounge part of this Restaurant/Lounge.

Interior and Music:  The decor in this place is def refreshing. Not your usual "I can't see a damn thing" lounge. All (if not most) of the furniture is white so when the LED lit walls and overhead lamps change color the entire room transforms. The music is a mix of hip hop, reggaeton, salsa, bachata, and merengue (more spanish than hip hop of course).  Only bad thing to say about the interior would be that it gets a bit too crowded (like back to back and shoulder to shoulder in some areas).

Crowd:  20 something to 30 something ready to party and well behaved (well at least when I was there).

Bar/Drinks: Full bar, a bit overpriced in my opinion but considering what the place looks like its understandable. Bar staff seems a bit overwhelmed by the hoards of people trying to get their attention. And Coronas served in PLASTIC CUPS! NO BUENO! (I'm picky like that but can you blame me?)

Bouncers: Friendly as opposed to your average douchy modern day bouncer. Dishing out whatever you give them (rude to them? Expect it right back).

$20 door fee for men ( I came after midnight so I don't know if it would've been waived or reduced had I arrived earlier)
Women get in free before midnight.

In conclusion the price of the drinks and lack of breathing room due to the overcrowding caused me to give 3 stars. But the interior design and festive atmosphere of this place is def worth me coming back in the near future.

My first few times going to Silhouette were disappointing.  After 5 months I decided to go back over the weekend and was highly impressed. A lot of changes have been made regarding their menu, drinks and service. The music (hip hop & Latin) was great and the crowd was mixed (age wise).  The manager and waitresses went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of.   They now serve hookah, for those hookah lovers...

One thing I love about the location og Sihlouette is that it is inside a mini strip mall, so there is plenty of free parking available.
One suggestion I would make is if you plan on coming during party hours, get there early...  The line can get very long to get in.

One thing remains the same about this location:  The décor is amazing! It is all white inside so it gives  it a grown and sexy vibe!

I'm writing this on behalf of my sister, who had such a horrid time I just had to post and from the looks of things shes not the only one... Sooooooooooo, I must say that the one I'm giving is only because I cant do a zero!!!! This place is beyond horrible and that is only what I saw from the outside looking in! I went to Silhouette for a co workers birthday party and to say the least the bouncer was rude. I sat here patiently waiting to get in and have a good time with my co workers when all I got was wait after wait and BS excuses from the bouncer. I thought that the reason he didn't let me in was because I had ballerina slippers on, but they let girls in who was wearing Jordan's. Then there were people who came in with baggy jeans and combat boots! That's when I knew it wasn't my attire. The bouncer kept announcing that they were closed after they opened at 11,  he kept making excuses about the club being over crowded, packed etc but people that just came up off the street he let in! That's when I had to finally approach the bouncer and give him a piece of my mind. I told him i was here for a birthday party and he said that it was expired! LUDICROUS!!!! seems to me that the only reason why they didn't let me in was because i wasn't Spanish... SMH never again!!!!

Terrible! My friends and I went to prettyUGLY NYC at the Silhouette Lounge where tickets were $25 per person and we were forced to wait at the door for over an hour and to endure the harassment of a rude bouncer. There was another women waiting as well who paid $130 for vip service who was forced to wait and then did not get her bottle or a table. The bouncer was also letting in people he knew/the owner knew before us. When we finally were let in and the scene wasn't much better. The music was terrible, there was a line of guys surrounding the wall watching drunk girls in mini skirts and stilettos dance in the middle and the decor was tacky. It is located in a outside shopping mall in the Bronx which says a lot.

The promoters of this party did a terrible job booking this space.  I will never attend a prettyUGLY party again and will definitely never come back to the Silhouette Lounge.  Bad party promotion or not, the place is trashy and not where you want to spend your time or your money.

Was there sat night 01/14/2012.  The place was half empty, but in its defense not many people know of this lounge.
Pros: Free parking, $100 bottles, decor( prob the best uptown in this category).

Cons:  The music( DJ Maniatico felt that he had to mention his name in every song. Not to mention that an iPod with a play list would've done a better job). The drinks ( at  $13 you're better off buying a bottle).
I was there from 12:30 am until 2:00 am. I couldn't stand the horrible music, therefore I left the place and finished the night some where else.  If this place gets a better DJ, with it's attractive decor and free parking it might be the place to be sat nights in all of uptown.

My girlfriend and I went to Silhouette on the recommendation of a friend on Friday 1/13, dispite the reviews on Yelp. And boy were we Glad we did. Silhouette is georgeous restaurant and club! The entire restaurant is WHITE with accents of red and black. This has to be one of the sexist places I've ever been!
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the rack of lamb with pototoes in a yummy sauce, it was so good and my friend had the special of the night,a t-bone steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables, she wanted to pick up the bone and polish it off but proper ettiquet prevailed. The staff were all attentive and friendly. Our server was Angel and he was cute, charming and funny.
Around 11 pm they remove the tables from the center of the restaurant and started playing various types of music and the place started to fill up with beautiful people ready to party. Behind the bar is a huge projection TV that you can watch sports on but when the music started pumping the projection TV raised up into the ceiling and a DJ was revealed behind it. Talk about awesome!! They played spanish/salsa music, R&B and HipHop; something for everyone. The manager comes around to make sure everything was to your liking and to get any suggestions you may have. Smart move for any new business.

There's a private/VIP area where you can have your group celerate a birthday or the like. You just need to reserve it in advance and their bottle service is not over prced. We will definitely be returning for the great food and lively music. My girlfriend can't stop talking about having her Birthday party here in March.
I highly recommend Silhouette for a girls night out, an intimate dinner with your mate or celebration with friends and family. This is one of my top 10 places to go on the weekends now. Don't know what's wrong with the other reviewers but Silhouette ROCKS!!

My wife and I received a nice looking card for this place and decided to walk by, since it's near to check it out - there was no web site  online to check out the menu.  It was a Saturday and we were dressed casual.  The place is in an unimpressive little strip mall anchored by a Staples office supply store.  We weren't sure what to expect but knowing the neighborhood we thought it would be fine to just stop on in.  Then we arrived ....no menu posted out front, it was dark inside and there were no customers.  It was about 6pm. Well, we just didn't get the vibe that it was  a place to drop in and have a nice simple meal.  Rather, it looked like a place to drop $200 bucks at and we kept walking...my point ....no menu on line or in front, dark, fancy looking, it appeared way over priced for a modest couple and they lost two hungry potential customers.  Advise to Silhouette: post a menu online and one in your window so you don't lose out on potential customers..hey, not everybody earns $100K a year and can afford to randomly drop $200 for dinner, let folks in the neighborhood feel welcome and know what you guys charge before walking in...
