For a Hookah joint NOT in Astoria, this place is decent.  The ambiance is pretty chill and they play a good selection of music.  I think the prices are a little more expensive than the hookah places on Steinway, but hey, I guess that's the trade off for not having to make that extra commute to Astoria.  My favorite flavors are Blue Mist and Skittles.  They have a pretty wide selection of flavors, but beware, they'll charge you extra for mixing flavors.  They also have a strict 2 people per 1 hookah policy.  One time I was here with two other people and we were forced to get one more hookah, which I found completely pointless.  On the bright side, as many hookah places have a mandatory one drink policy, this place doesn't!

There is supposedly a 15% off your bill deal on yelp if you check in.  The first time I came here, the 15% was honored, but the next couple of times I came, I was told that they don't honor the discount anymore.  So....if it's not honored anymore....then why is it still advertised? Beats me!  Fortunately though, the first time this happened, our server was kind enough to grant us the 15% off anyways.

The place is decorated like most hookah bars and the selection of flavors was awesome but it was a pain to get service after we were seated. And they also charged us 2 dollars for water under the guise of 'not being a restaurant' when over half their menu was food and drinks'. If we are are spending 80 bucks for 4 people at your estalishment the least you can do is comp. a water.

the hookah itself was pretty standard and good and the staff was nice and friendly
HOWEVER, i prefer any hookah bar on steinway over silk.

First of all, I ordered a mix of standard flavors and nowhere on the menu did it say they would charge for that (because at most places they dont charge to mix flavors). I was charged $4 dollars for a mix of flavors.

Second, they didn't come by often enough to change our coals.

Third, I don't really prefer places that have a MANDATORY 18% service feee added to my bill

Fourth, the lighting was too bright for a hookah lounge.

Overall, I would come again ONLY if I was too lazy to go to steinway because as far as this area goes....this would be the best hookah place.

A great selection of flavors and teas! The skittles mojito they recommended was awesome. The seating is a little awkward, but they let you stay as long as you like. They must've changed our charcoal at least 10 times which was pretty nice. A good hangout spot if you just want to chill. Next time I'll try their halal and update!

I pass by this place all the time and decided to check it out since it's the only hookah place in the Bayside/Flushing area and I didn't want to have to trek out to Astoria or the City for hookah. I was really impressed. Service was outstanding. Typically, traditional old-school Arab service, which equates to excellent. No pressure and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The hookah itself was excellent. Maybe among the best I have had in NYC. I had the wild berry flavor and it was terrific. And, of course, you can't beat the price. Regular flavors are $11 and special flavors are $16, which is dirt cheap. My only complaint was that they didn't play any Arab music or have any of those Arab music channels on tv. Other than that, one of the best hookah lounges in NYC.

The hookah here is either contaminated or really bad. Made me feel sick after a couple pulls.

    No drinks here.

Hookah that got me sick is overpriced. Paid $75 at the end of the night for one hookah and one bottle of water after tax and gratituity.

    Definitely NOT coming back here.

Man, if I were 18 again this place would be the bomb.

It's entirely halal, so THERE IS NO ALCOHOL HERE - deal with it.
This also means you only need to be (as a print-out taped to the wall says): "18 TO PARTY."

Basic hookahs are $11. Sooo cheap. We got a mint hookah. There were some issues with the coals and everyone else's looked stronger than ours, but who knows. Someone comes around every so often and refreshes them. But for a long period of time (like 30 mins) there seemed to be no waitstaff in the room at all...

The hookah lasted so long. I don't know how much time passed because this place is like a cave, but it was probably over an hour?

Chai and Moroccan mint teas were nonremarkable, just ways of being hydrated. We also got samosas and fries. They were ridiculously greasy. It's generic pre-cooked processed food but I would rather they have thrown it into a toaster oven...

Conclusion: Good for a small group and some games. Couches are cozy. Do your eating/drinking beforehand. My understanding is you can bring your own booze, too; they just don't sell it.

silk  Hookah is practically an extension of my living room. It's one of my favorite places to spend an evening.....

Random night in Flushing with nothing to do - then someone suggests... hookah!  It'd been years since I did hookah, so I was a bit skeptical.

For a Saturday night, the place was surprisingly not crowded, and the 4 of us were able to sit at a nice, cozy booth.  We then proceeded to sit there for ..... four hours... playing cards and smoking.  It was one of the most relaxing and fun nights I'd had in a long time, to my surprise.

The 4 of us got 2 hookahs, 1 regular watermelon, and 1 "special" queen of sex.  Queen of sex was.... mouthgasmic... can't really describe the taste.  Watermelon was watermelon.  Anyways, we sat there nursing these 2 things for what seemed like forever, and the waiters were very nice and even struck conversations with us.  They came and changed our charcoal every so often, which was nice.

I believe you get a discount when you check in on Yelp - yay!  And there is also a Yelp deal I think.

    I would definitely come back.

Just plain bad, took two car loads of people out for the night. A little hookah and then hit the club to top it off. The club was great and they loved it, the best thing of the night before the club wasn't the hookah to start it off, sadly enough it was the bakery on the corner of the street that this place is located.

    Service (Not Good)
Service here starts off pretty well once you enter. They are really friendly and excited to get you a nice seat of your choice. Then they are very attentive with giving the menus and asking for the orders. After we got our hookahs, service was dead. What happened guys? Too busy talking to themselves and running in the back for no reason to pay us any mind. It's almost like a used car salesman trying to keep you in his lot until he's sure you are going to buy a car and then goes and runs the same game on someone else. It's also a bit extra loud in here, to the point where the server had to talk directly into your ear so you could understand.

    Hookah (Poor)
Very unhappy about this, there's nothing here. The hookah is beyond bland, the tiny taste it does even give, dies out in just a few minutes. I don't think any of the hookahs we ordered lasted longer than 15 minutes. Very sad with all the self promotion that this place sends out, that they can't even back it up with quality. It's also very hard to smoke properly in this congested location, why isn't there any fresh air? Are you trying to kill me before I leave, too?

    Food (Not Sure)
I was so focus on how much of a fail this place was that I didn't even bother to check for food, I just kept staring at the door and wondering how soon we could make our escape.

    Price (High)
I feel this was the biggest waste of my time and money, neither which this place will ever afford to give me back. Are you crazy? Asking $25-$35+ for one of the worst hookahs I've ever had? If you are someone who had taken a peek at my previous hookah reviews, you can see that I don't let the amount of the bill turn the tide on a rating along. The price part of my review goes what the quality and happiness I get from the amount I paid. If I felt it was worth it, then kudos I will pay anything you write on that bill. If not then I'm just really turned off and would most likely not visit again and encourage friends to avoid the place. (Considering this place, I would also encourage enemies to avoid it also.)

This place is a hit or miss. Sometimes the service is excellent, sometimes its extremely slow and poor.

The best part about this place is the low prices. If you need a place to hang out and talk, this is a pretty good spot in the neighborhood. For the regular flavored hookah, you can share it with 3 friends, excluding weekends where its only 2 people per hookah, unless you get the special flavors.

If you don't like the lounge itself, with the non existent exhaust system, you can go in and tell them you wanna smoke in the cafe on the corner. (they do expect you to buy a drink at least if your smoking in the cafe but their prices are reasonable) You just go and sit in the backroom with the bar. Its much nicer and wider so you don't feel like your in your mother's womb.

Meh just about sums it up. Hookah wasn't great, seating arrangement was strange, service was lacking, and there's no alcohol. Unless you can't find your way to Astoria, skip this.

I can only give this place 1 star. And I had REALLY high hopes since it was only 3 blocks from my house. Walked in around 10 pm on a Saturday with 3 friends. First off, music was FAR too loud for a place that's supposed to be a lounge, not a dance club. We proceeded to sit at a couch area with a table and looked at the menu. Prices on hookah were great; $11, $16 and $20, or $25 for hookah with fruit.  Seemed to have a few good choices/prices for appetizers. Waitress asks if we will be more than 4 people... reason being, couch tables are saved for parties of 8+... mind you, there were only 3 other parties here, and one of the parties had only 3 girls, and they were sitting at a couch. Obviously friends of the establishment. We kindly obliged the waitress' request to move to an 'area' on the side; awkward upright benches and....um, no table. We try to make the best of it, continue looking at the menu - let's order drinks to take the frustration off. No alcohol. Hmmm. Ok, this place is a bust. Waiter comes over to take our order, to which we have to tell him we cant stay, reasons being; 1) we were asked to leave our couch table (which, I could understand if the place was packed, but it wasn't), 2) the music was too loud and 3) they didn't serve alcohol, just too many strikes to make this a worthwhile choice for a Saturday night. We got here at 9:54, we left by 10:03.

At least the menu prices on food and hookah was redeeming. Otherwise, thanks but no thanks.

This is for the h.s. crowd.

    They don't serve alcohol.

The seating here kind of sucks.

    Ever heard of ventilation?

The only good thing was the "dj" who was picking songs from his coomputer & the price of the hookah. (we prob smoked 1/4 of it and left)

I went around 2 am on a saturday night and I was so excited that there is a hookah bar in the bayside area. I was not disappointed because the prices are good, the staff is friendly, and the owner was very nice. The hookah was very good as well. I will definitely be going back.

Cool environment and nice seating arrangement. The mystery hookah is a perfect blend. Tell the manager Jimmy that you know Andy

We came here with a group of 4 on a Sunday afternoon.  The place had just opened for business the prior Friday.  I can say hands down that the quality of the tobacco and flavors at this hookah place far exceed the numerous hookah bars I've been to in Manhattan - and at half the price.  The owner came to personally welcome us and was very kind.  He threw in an additional hookah on the house, and throughout the 2 hours we spent there, service was very attentive and kind.  It's my personal mission to bring all my friends here from now on.  Great business!!
