The food is not bad, but not worth the money. Â Wine is very expensive.
Service was sub par.
The salad  came first.  It was Caesar salad, but had very little dressing, so little that I had to check to see if it had any.  While eating my salad, my appetizer came, so I had to stop eating my salad so that I would not have to eat a cold appetizer.
When I finished my appetizer, I went back to eating my salad, but before I could get in a bite or two, the main course was delivered.
The waitress brought us some rolls, but when I went to have one, I discovered that there was no butter for the rolls.
One appetizer, two salads, two glasses of wine, two main dishes for $73.28 (not counting tip). Â It was just not worth it.
One of the things I love most about this cafe is how clean it is. I am a big fan of breakfast and have eaten at a lot of diners and this is definately not a diner, more like a cozy and cute New England cafe. I love that you can watch the cooks making your meals if you choose to sit in front of the open kitchen. The breakfast is really good here. The menu is small and I'd prefer the butter they provide is salted rather than unsalted (I've seen a few little old men show up with their own tubs of butter, which isn't a bad idea) but overall I really enjoy eating here. Lunch is also very good here. I've had their burger as well as the grilled chicken ciabatta sandwich with sauteed onions (I highly recommend this one!). Overall a great little spot to grab breakfast or lunch but it is a bit pricier than I would like. If you want a refill on your drink, it'll cost you.
Review Source:Web had enjoyed the Sippican over the years and looked forward to a summer treat. It's totally changed with extensive remodeling. Unfortunately the food was terrible, service inattentive and no sign of management. My wife loves sautéed mussels and she ordered them as an appetizer. They came out and smelled so awful we could not keep them on the table . We waited patiently but finally flagged down a server who shrugged . The chef said they were fine, not so they were not edible. Next the meals , truly pathetic. Chicken piccatta on pasta the special was tasteless, pasta was over cooked and swimming in a seas of water, not a sense of lemon. As we left we looked at the open kitchen , the cooks, being polite, were just kids with no supervision. Our advice is to avoid it for a meal. A real shame when the remodel has made it such a beautiful spot .
Review Source:The Sippican Cafe is an adorable, locally owned restaurant that serves both traditional and unique creations for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For two owners who gathered experience working in the fast food biz, I'm impressed with all the creative homemade selections available on their menu. This might be my new favorite spot in the area.
I've only had breakfast here, but it was absolutely delicious and perfect in every way. I decided on a Mushroom/Spinach/Broccoli/Onion/Cheese omelette, which was dank, but not too filling. Perfect ratio of veggies, cheese & egg. For me! I don't usually like home fries, but theirs were crispy and well seasoned, just how I like 'em. The sausage patties were decently sized, and tasty. I'd say I enjoyed the ideal breakfast meal =) And for only $10, it was quite the bargain. The same order would go for ~$16-18 up in Boston.
The outdoor patio is a nice addition to this cozy cafe. Enclosed by a white pergola, it allows you to dine in less confined quarters while still maintaining privacy from the outside world.
Next time I'm in the area I'll definitely have to come here for dinner and post an update.
*Note: Keep in mind that they close down during the off hours (2:00-5:00pm daily).
