Constantly giving this location a second, third, fourth, etc chance..... But always so disappointed with the service. Today would have to be the worst to date. Sat their for 8 mins before being greeted... Yes I did time it because we were starving. Only 3 other tables were sat in the dinning room area near us. Then we ordered everything at once.... Fried veggies, birra and poblano quesadilla, fries, and the Johnny Vegas roll.... Along with 2 happy hour margaritas, well we received all of our food before the margaritas.... And delivered to a table without silverware. Food and drinks were great, but I can honestly say every time I come here I feel like I'm bothering the girls who work there. Always feel like such a chore to come say hi, smile, take my order, deliver it, and make sure everything is going well!!!! I am finally done giving them another chance to even be decent servers.... Never going back!
Review Source:Updating after having visited this place maybe a dozen times. The food is good. I find it ever so slightly overpriced, but good quality and large portions. I like that they offer low-carb options like tacos in lettuce wraps. If you're not low-carbing, the tamales are awesome. The whole garage ambiance is clever and well executed.
I have one big problem with this place, and I really wish the owner would read this and do something about it. They position themselves as a place to watch games, particularly Wildcat games. They have lots of TVs and even a big projector screen that they pull down for big games. They have a sound system to broadcast the game throughout the whole place. They bring in promos for games, like Corona girls giving out Mardi Gras beads and beer specials. And yet, EVERY SINGLE TIME (not exaggerating) we have gone there specifically to watch a Wildcats game, when we walk in 15 minutes before the game, they have like...hockey on the TVs. Or UFC. We ask them to put on the game (hello, pre-game coverage?) and they struggle to find the channel. To the point that often they don't find the game until 10 minutes after it has begun. On more than one occasion, one of our party has gone over to the room where the cable box is, and has helped them figure out what channel is showing the game.
Weirdly, the SECOND the game goes to halftime, they manage to switch the sound system to music, so we can't hear the halftime analysis...and then the game comes back on and we have to ask them to turn it from the music back to the game. I'm sure I sound like I'm exaggerating, but I really am not. It's like they don't want people to watch sports there. Which, you know, is fine, many restaurants don't and that's fine. But this place encourages sports, specifically Wildcats fans, to watch games here.
Get it together, Sir Veza's. If you want to be a place where people come to watch the Wildcats, let your bartenders/managers know in the morning what time the game will be on, and what channel. It's not that difficult. I'd give them 5 stars for food quality, 4 for service, but I'm giving 3 overall because of the sports bar ineptitude. We'll probably try them again in the fall when UA football starts up because of location convenience and good food, and I'll update if things have improved.
Long story short: Good food. Crappy place to watch sports.
I cannot believe how bad the service was. I continually have problems at this location. First of all, every time I have gone I have waited while staring at multiple tables that I could already be sitting at and they are unattended the entire time. I have to actually go to the waitress and suggest that they seat me there because it is open. Secondly, I wait for my drinks food and anything else for entirely too long. Word of advice to anyone that is in a hurry. DO NOT EAT HERE
Review Source:I loved that I could eat outside and the bar area that is indoor/outdoor is truly a special space. Â But the food was disappointing. Â I had fish tacos, and while the fish was fine - actually pretty tasty, the rice was like minute rice and I think the black beans were actually full of sugar. Â Overall and okay experience, but I would not seek it out in the future.
Review Source:We love this place and often do date night here. They have awesome drinks and  inventive menu items. You can do Mexican anywhere in Tucson so I appreciate a Mexican restaurant that puts a spin on the ordinary. It's a fun atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable. The only thing that needs improvement is the service. We go there quite a bit and the service is just okay on it's best day. The waiters are often a little clueless and take a long time to come back around to you. We've often had to ask several times for the same thing. Good thing the food and drinks are good! Try the Most Interesting Veggies in the World. It's our favorite.
Review Source:We tried to eat here one evening... The hostess told us it would be about 10
Minutes before we were seated. 45 minutes later we still were not seated. I kept walking through the dining room, and there were at a minimum 4 tables available, and the waiting area was packed. Apparently the waitresses went on strike because a customer walked out without paying. Then the hostess proceed to seat people who had arrived after us, and claimed they all had reservations... Not true... So we walked out and took our business else where. Do not expect good service here. Waitresses are rude,
And hostesses are incompetent. I will never attempt to eat here.
Ugh. Came here for a family dinner. Which was the only good thing about the evening.
It was St. Patrick's Day and they had a DJ playing in the bar area. Which, I get. It's a holiday. BUT, it was so loud that we ended up just asking to sit outside. The 6 of us were seated a table on the patio. Which was fine. The tables were filthy. The chairs were wonky. But, again...we were there to be with family. (notice this is my mantra for this dining experience, lol)
The waitress got our drink orders and disappeared. She finally resurfaced with everyone's drink but mine, a Guiness.
We ordered a sample platter for the table, and our individual orders. They also brought chips and salsa which were decent enough. the sampler (chicken strips, taquitos, fries, onion rings) came in a bucket. It was bizarre. Everything piled on top of each other. Not very conduscive to sharing at the table. And not especially tasty, or plentiful at $13.95. Bleh.
My aunt's order was wrong. My cousin's order was wrong. My husband didn't get a knife for his steak.
I ordered the fish tacos ($10.95) , which came with beans and rice. It consisted of a tiny strip of battered (not hot) fish on two mini tortillas. They were completely flavorless, and the fish was mushy. The beans were straight out of a can. the rice was okay. (see picture).
The WORST part was that due to the St. Patrick's Day factor. They brought in bag pipers, which was kinda cool. But they played for like 20 minutes straight at a million decibels. Thankfully they stayed inside so it was tolerable. But the ENTIRE TIME they were playing at least 3-4 different people came to our table asking for tips or donations for their "KILT FUND". *eyeroll*. Just what I want when I'm having dinner with my family...for a band that YOU brought in....asking for money that isn't even for charity. Its for KILTS! Are you kidding me?
I was annoyed....unsatisfied....and so ready to go home. Did i mention the best part was my family? And the Guiness!
Definately a bar... with tacos. Â Yeah, they aren't super authentic.... but if you want authentic mexican food, there are LOTS of places to find it in Tucson. Â
The food has always been yummy... the beers are large and cheap.
The kids menu selections left my kids still hungry... would be nice for a bit more food in that area... even some additional beans or rice.
Happy Hour is ok here if you are not in a hurry but I cannot fathom eating lunch here again. On 2/28/13, 20 of us were here for a going away lunch for a coworker. Â They had us in a separate room which was nice for noise level. Â The bad: the 2 wait servers insisted on bringing waters to all 20 of us before taking orders. Â They only carried 2 glasses at a time so this took forever. Â Our food took 82 minutes to arrive after ordering. Â Half of us took our orders to go. Â I live in a Barrio so I would rather call this Tex-Mex or some other gringo lingo. Â If you like Guadalajara Grill (I don't), you will think the food is fine.
If you want to keep your job then do not come here for lunch. Â This was a 2 hour lunch for us and the food was meh.
Pinch Hit
So today we found out that Brio couldn't handle lunch for us--appears they offed all of their staff last night and our networking group was in a bind, way behind and looking to make a deal. Â
So we gave the devil his due and went to Sir Vezas--one of my favorites in Tucson. Â For starters, their Tinga Chicken Tacos are ridiculous and yummy. Â But today was cab car quesadillas--chicken avocado and bacon with melty cheese and a great sauce. Â I have to say I wish I could eat them all--but its so big that's not possible. Â It may not help that I got a side of beer battered fries--oops don't tell my diet watching lovely wife. Â
Truly this is one of the best happy hours in Tucson--half priced drinks and all appetizers half priced as well. Â I'm in love with pretty much everything on their menu. Â My only gripe is that service is hit or miss--most of the time its adequate to good. Â Sometimes its just baaaad. Â Today the waitress for our group was fantastic and served 25 people in a short time, kept the drinks rolling and our lunch was a success.
You can't go wrong--and the porch outside this time of year is fantastic. Â If the service was more consistent, I'd easily give 5 stars.
Wow what a mistake coming here! Came here on a Tuesday night to find out that they rented out the patio and bar to some private party. That's cool and all but I guess when you have a private party everyone else not part of it is relegated to their crappy happy hour food menu for dinner. Only redeeming that was at least it was half off food but the drinks were still full price, and the happy hour food did not sound very interesting at all. Not going to bother to come here again as long their is you can't even eat dinner. Â If your going to shut down because of a private party just have the dignity to close remainder of the restaurant if your chefs are so incompetent that they can't serve anyone else.
This was my first and last experience here.
We were in Tucson for the afternoon, and not knowing the area - we were looking for something Mexican, but needed something "kinda corporate" as there was construction everywhere, and we needed wheelchair accessible ramps with easy access to flat/level/not-under-construction parking.
The drink order took forever (2pm mid-week, only  a couple tables filled few ppl at bar). After forever was over, our server came over to bring us one drink (iced tea) and let us know one was being made still and the domestic beer was unavailable. Ten minutes for the bartender to figure out they didn't have a Bud product and make a margarita? Really?
The chips were really good, hot n fresh - the salsa was tasty, but not near hot enough.
The newly-selected beer and marg were finally brought over by our excellent server, who apologized for the ridiculous amount of time the bartender took.
Food arrived and we were all fairly underwhelmed. We ordered a good selection of Mexican items, enchiladas, tacos, etc. Nothing stood out...except for the shrimp taco which was drowned in some type of sweet syrup sauce. That one got left uneaten in an orange syrupy grave. The Sonoran dog taco was pretty tasty and nicely crunchy though!
The rice was nicely presented, but bland. The beans were steaming hot, but lacked any depth to the flavor profile.
The waiter (I missed his name) was extremely helpful as the sun came blazing thru the window - he went outside and pulled the outside shade down - which helped immensely. The inside shade was MIA, apparently from a broken mounting bracket. What? No Makita and sheet metal screws on premises? C'mon people...it'd take like 20 seconds to put it back up.
On the plus side - they have a great craft beer selection - many of which are AZ locals! BONUS. Between that, the helpful server, and the fact that they have Herradura saved them from the dreaded one-star Yelp review.
I've never actually been here to eat, but we went to watch an Arizona basketball game on the patio. Even though it was a pretty chilly night, it felt cozy with the heaters and clear plastic patio walls to block the wind. In addition to killer deals on beer during the game, our fantastic bartender brought us homemade chips and salsa. Sometimes even now I have a craving for those chips and salsa! They were so good!! Maybe it was the fact that the salty chips went along so well with a cold beer, but I bet they'd even be good sans beer. I guess there's only one way to find out!
Review Source:It took me forever to try this place because I really didn't like the one on Speedway. But that was all about ambiance. And this one has ambiance down.
I love the setup. The garage doors are probably really cool on a warm day.
We went for lunch and I tried the lunch special. For $8 you get a soda type beverage and then your choice of a taco or a wrap. The taco of your choice comes with rice and beans, salad, or soup on the side. I got the salmon taco today. So so so tasty! I went for rice and beans as my side today and they were tasty, but my friend got the salad on the side and it looked awesome. And you can get it with a serrano citrus dressing. Sounds delicious!
I'll be back.
Nothing bad to say about this place, but nothing exceptional either. Â Drinks were priced fairly and the food tasted fine - I can't remember anything we ate except the sushi/mexican roll appetizer. Â I wouldn't write home about it. Â The inside was interestingly decorated with random rustic metal stuff that you probably find along the dimly lit streets of Tucson. Â The covered patio was probably the best part, which includes great group seating for 6-8 people per party.
All in all, this is a fine place to go with friends for happy hour or an evening out as long as you bring your own entertainment.
There are enough reviews of SVTG that seem to accurately explain what this place is about, so I will just summarize my thoughts.
* Come here for unique and creative Mexican-inspired dishes and stop complaining that it is not 100% authentic. Who cares if it is both delicious and different? Go elsewhere if it is a problem.
* SVTG is empirically a sports bar. It will be loud. It will be dark. You may or may not see Coors Light girls peddling their wares.
* Service is hit or miss and you will have multiple servers waiting on you, so communication can be haphazard.
* The free chips are awesome, but the salsa is too runny for my tastes.
* Come here to eat tasty food and get fat.
My brother promised me an amazing Sonoran hot dog and this was the place for it!! Great place for happy hours and watching games. But back to my Sonoran Hot Dog! Smothered in many toppings ( not even sure how many!) and wrapped in bacon all stuffed into a bun, actually was pretty ginormous and heavenly!! They also have the Beer Tower which you need to split with at least 4 people, yes its a tower!!
Totally loved this place, looking forward to coming back and trying their amazing street tacos!!
This place deserves 4 stars. I have come here several times and have enjoyed every visit. My experiences here have always been during happy hour on a Friday on the patio. The food is always hot, the service is always great, and the drinks are always on time.
A group of my work friends and I meet up here quite frequently to relax and enjoy drink specials along with tasty, yet cheap, happy hour food. I usually order 2-3 drinks and an appetizer and leave here under $15, including tip. This is one of the best deals in town. I always order the "Most Interesting Vegetable in the World" and am also a fan of the "Hand Bored Guacamole", "Chips and Fresh Salsa", and "Kustom Crisps." I still need to try the "Johnny Vegas Roll," and although this is a Taco Garage, I have not tired the tacos. They also have Yards of Beer on Tap, which many of my beer loving coworkers like to share.
My only complaint about the patio is that with a large group, it is hard to all sit together, and sometimes some of us are standing around the tables. When the sun is setting, it is quite piercing to the eyes if you happen to be sitting on the wrong side of the table, however this has not stopped us from enjoying ourselves.
They recently changed their happy hour menu, so I am uploading a pic of it when I am done writing here.
This restaurant has a decent theme, atmosphere, and food but JESUS does the service (or lack thereof) SUCK. My friend and I have been sitting at a table now for about 40 minutes and haven't even been asked if we want to order drinks yet... Same exact story earlier this week too (which we thought may have just been a fluke considering they were a little busy).
Review Source:My wife and I went here for the first time. Â It is a garage themed mexican style restaurant. Â They even had a spoked motorcycle wheel for the sink in the men's and women's restrooms. Â The food was good. Â The service was a little off, but other then that they were friendly and prompt with our order. Â The menu selection was larger then I thought it was going to be, but they have something for everyone.
I did find it interesting they have a special parking spot for Hot Rods and Motorcycles.
Went there for a Sunday lunch with two other couples so we were a six top. Â It was pretty empty when we got there. Â We were seated, chipped and salsa'ed and watered just fine. Â Put a drink order in and it took forever. Â It took so long one of the other guys went to the bar as it looked like our order had been sitting there for a number of minutes. Â Sure enough, that was our order. Â Our waitress was off with six or seven other employees having a little giggle fest and ignoring us.
When she finally came over we ordered some appetizers. Â These also took an extraordinary long time. Â She came over to say something about them "sitting in the window" and they would be right over. Â They obviously were sitting in the window as the calamari was cold so I sent it back and told them to just take it off the order.
We all ordered our lunch. Â I had the Garage Tour, my wife a salad, some burgers were ordered and some bacon wrapped shrimp with stuff peppers. Â All of the entrees were not bad. Â In fact, my carnitas taco was down right good. Â I would certainly eat those carnitas tacos again.
All in all I would head back but I would probably go eat at the bar. Â The wait staff is friendly, and a cute bunch of little barbies, but I would trade the cuteness for some attentive service any day. Â I've read other reviews and they say much the same thing about service. Â Seems like a no brainer that some motivated floor managers are needed to oversee the barbies.
My quick summary: Â If you're in the area & can't think of anywhere else to, I guess this place will work.
My family and I went here for lunch yesterday. Â My dad knew they had several gluten free options. Â The owner apparently decided to try to combine a mechanic's garage and Hooter-esque like atmosphere (teeny tiny shorts). Â Which is kind of cute, except for the blaring country music. Â You can barely hear the people at the table with you.
We went in right after 11AM. Â Our waitress arrived promptly to take our drink order, but had this annoying habit of looking anywhere but at our table any time she was talking to us. Â That was the only time she arrived promptly. Â She would then huddle with a couple other girls at the front door until the manager came out. Â They then scurried back to actually waiting on customers. Â She didn't bring out the appetizer of guacamole for over 10-15 mins after we ordered it. Â There were maybe 4 other tables, not sure how long it takes to scoop out the guacamole & carry out the plate...
I ordered the taco grill combo. Â It came with 1 grilled fish taco, 1 grilled chicken taco, and 1 grilled steak taco. Â They were pretty good. Â Nothing to write home about, but they had a decent flavor. Â I think they rely on cilantro a little too heavily. Â It's a major player in both the tacos and in their rice. Â The meat was cooked sufficiently and the tacos actually had 2 soft shells, so they didn't get too soggy.
On a side note, their napkins are made to look like used oil rags. Â And they really succeed. Â But they're really threadbare. Â But, as my sister (with her baby) said, they make great baby wipes.
Talk about taking a theme to extremes. Â This noisy frenetic restaurant is overflowing with garage-themed items from the lights to the rag napkins to the sink in the bathroom made out of a tire.
The food is passable--frozen fish tacos with parboiled rice. Â It's not where you'd go for authentic Mexican food. Â And the place is so loud with all the noise reverberating off the metal and the prep kitchen out in front (chop chop chop). Â And there's so many TVs that this non-ADD girl felt overwhelmed.
The bar area is comfortable, and the only gimmick that's worth trying is the tubes of beer. Â You have to be at least a party of 4, but it's like getting a pitcher on steroids.
I asked several women who'd been there why they went, and the answer was unanimous--to meet men. Â God bless 'em.
I FINALLY made my way here. Â It was cool to find out that they had out door fire places, maybe in the winter I will consider going there just to eat out by the fire. Â I had ordered the white sangria which was very tasty and would recommend that to anyone. A friend and I decided to share the beef fajitas, and for 16 bucks we thought it would be a good thing to do. Â Boy were we wrong. Â The order was more for one person and we even told the waiter we were going to share that they gave us only 2 tortillas. Next time I better stick to ordering my own plate instead.
Over all great place to bring friends and just hang out for drinks.
Such a fun game environment alone or in a family or on a date or in a group! Â I came for a meal tonight, and it just so happened to be when the UofA baseball game was on! Â After the Wildcats won, Sir Veza's gave away free shots! Â There were dozens of different sized TVs in the restaurant, and it had a fun feel when we were all cheering on the team.
You get free chips and salsa, and I think Sir Veza's has the best quesadillas - yes, I rarely will order a quesadilla. Â I was disappointed that they didn't have Tia Lilly's iced tea, and I thought the ceviche was gross. Â You should definitely check out the restrooms - a wheel for a sink, a wrench for a door lock, and some other fun surprises. Â I definitely want to come here to watch some of the Olympics.
Love the decor and the varied menu. Our group of 4 sampled Happy Hour appetizers including the crisps which are huge and around $5 at Happy Hour. Â I loved the carnitas tacos with fried egg. The mango margarita was very good and I also liked the dessert trio with flan and cheesecake. The food was a winner all the way!
We were overcharged for one item which the server said was a new menu item, and she corrected it.
Ever since Sir Veza's opened near the Tucson Mall, it's been packed. Now that my wife and I have finally tried it, we'll let the crowds have this one. To the point, this place is fine but there's so much better out there. This is Mexican food designed to be crowd-pleasing made for a more touristy crowd.
My wife and I both had our own selection of tacos and from the six that we had between us, the overall impression was that they lacked flavor. I cannot recommend the Sir Veza Fish, Dos Huevones, Carne Asada, or The SIRnoran tacos. I know, I probably should have seen the disappointment of the SIRnoran dog taco coming, but I had to try it. If you like a tortilla with yellow mustard squirted in the center of it, this taco is for you.
But Sir Veza's did offer up a great appetizer, the Johnny Vegas roll. It's just a wrap filled with chicken and avocado that's sliced and presented like sushi. It's simplistic but delicious. Also the refried beans are quite tasty, some of the best around if you like them thick and creamy. Given the number of negative remarks in regards to the wait staff from other reviews, I was quite surprised how great our service was. We had several different waiters always checking on us. We were out of there within an hour and that includes our twenty minute wait for our table.
You'll likely have to wait for a table if you go at night because the seating inside is pretty desolate. I wish they would take out some of the decor (and the massive bar) and add more seating options. Happy hour is a good time to go if you just want some alcohol and appetizers. I'd recommend going at least for that to give it a shot.
We frequented the old location and have been to this new one three times now. It's been awful every time. The first time we went, we were celebrating a birthday. The service was slow, but we decided it was fine because they had just opened and were still learning. A weird homeless man came into the restaurant and started yelling at our table. It took management a really long time to do anything about it.
The second visit was a few weeks later. The hostess got into a fight with who I assume was the manager in front of all the guests waiting to be seated. When we were finally seated, all the servers seemed to be having a meeting or something. We weren't helped for about fifteen minutes. By the time I decided we were going to leave, a server hurried to our table as if nothing strange had transpired.
The third and last visit we made was for another birthday. A friend called in a reservation for 15, and the hostess happily took the reservation. Tonight, we showed up for the reservation and no one had any idea who we were. They didn't offer us anything and said we were free to wait for a table to free up. We waited about half an hour. They offered us a table for 4 instead and said it would be about another half hour. My friend's husband asked if maybe we could get a complimentary drink for the birthday girl since she was waiting for an hour when we had made the reservation for her. The waitress said probably not and quickly walked away and didn't make eye contact with us for the rest of the time we were there. Thankfully Brio was happy to find space for us last minute on a busy Friday.
The food is good and the other location is awesome, but this one needs some serious help with the service. I'm definitely not going back.
Went for lunch with a friend because we'd been to the Speedway location before and it was decent. We understood it was a little busy due to the UofA game going on that afternoon, but it wasn't out-the-door packed, and there seemed to be enough servers to provide timely service.
Unfortunately, it took our waitress upwards of 15 minutes to get an iced tea and a beer to us. And within that time, she came back to tell us they were out of the beer my friend had ordered but will be back with a different beer he chose. It took another 30-40 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did, my tacos arrived cold. I didn't want to ask to take it back because I knew it would take even longer, and it's never pretty when you send food back. She also never came back to ask how the food was, maybe because she knew the food was cold. I ended up being extremely sick that evening from the tacos. Thank god they weren't undercooked, just cold. I'm guessing they had sat out too long or our order fell on the floor or something.
In any case, I don't normally write to complain, but this was a bit out of the ordinary for what seems like a happening place. We understood it was game day, but it's no excuse to half-ass service and bring out cold food. This place would be decent if they worked on faster, friendlier service and, most importantly, better quality control.
Unfortunately, though this restaurant merited 4 starts from me, this review isn't going to be only amazing. Â We have been in twice to this one now. Â Once the weekend before they opened (I guess they were doing a pre-grand-opening sort of thing), and it was amazing. Â I had these tacos with chicken and avocado, and Richard got a burger., and we got the SirNoran Hot Doggies (of course). Â We only got iced tea to drink, but everything was just wonderful. Â The new place is simply gorgeous. Â I love the open garage doors to let the sun in. Â The only thing I would say is that the first time we went, there was a strong smell of sewage outside. Â Not sure if it was just because it was new, or if a line had broken somewhere, but I might have thought they would close the doors, at least on the side where the smell was coming from.
We went a few nights later, and had some dinner and drinks. Â We hadn't eaten all day and were really hungry. Â I got a burger and Richard got tacos. Â I Â noticed some kind of odd taste in my burger, but I love SirVesas and credited it to some new spice they were using. Â The service was a little slow, but they were really busy. Â Our bill came out to just over $100. Â Then, eight hours later, I woke up with horrible stomach pains. Â I didn't think I was going to be sick, but I sure was. Â I only had two beers, so I know it wasn't a hangover. Â I had a fever and was sick for two days. Â I called a medical professional in my family, and they confirmed food poisoning. Â Driving by it now kind of makes me feel sick, but I know I will be back as soon as that passes.
I have eaten at SirVesas (the royal SirVesas...both of them together) enough times to know it was some kind of fluke and that everything there is amazing. Â I want so badly to be able to go back soon, because the food is delicious and the service is usually attentive and welcoming.
Review for drinks only: That being said, if you want beer great!! Excellent selection of brews for the hops lover in you.
Hops not your thing then order your staple, not off the menu. My FIL "dared" me to order a specialty beer mix. Not sure of the name but it was beer with citrus vodka and cinnamon. I obviously didn't have high hopes because I asked our server if I could order something else with the chance it sucked. Surprise...it sucked. We all took a sip and we all gagged. Who the hell would put something like that on a drink menu!!!?? Who ever created these drinks must have been smokin' something.
Gave the jacked up beer back and ordered a Mojito. Not impressed. It tasted like watered down simple syrup. There was no fiz, no alcohol taste. Nothing.
Choked that down and shared a Long Island with my MIL. Even though it was a different color it eerily tasted like the flavorless, fizz-less, over-sugared Mojito. It was quite odd. Not impressed.
The reason I'm giving it two stars is for the outside patio and overall restaurant decor. I absolutely love couches and fire pits!! SCORE! And due to the way cool women's restroom I will be creating a new list, very inspiring! Next time I come I'll drink beer and eat tacos.
There is no sign of Marie anywhere in this place - wow! what a transformation and the buildout must have cost some $$. Â Very hip and fun.
So we came here for lunch today arriving right at 11am when they opened. There was only 1 other table occupied so we assumed we would be in and out quickly. Wrong! This is not the place to come if you are only allowed an hour for lunch - you will be late. There must have been a salsa shortage, as our bowl was only filled half way and when we asked for a refill, it was filled only halfway again. Did I mention how SLOW the service was???
Speaking of the salsa - it is boring, no flavor and when we asked for spicy salsa we were told this was the only salsa they had but would be glad to bring us Sriracha. What? I love Sriracha but not on my chips.
Under the guidance of our waitress, I ordered the chicken tortilla soup. While the broth was flavorful, that is all there was - broth. Oh and a few pieces of avocados. Lame. I had a side salad with it and tried the serrano honey dressing which was good.
My partner had the fish tacos. He said he would rather have the fish tacos at Rubios. The black beans were out of a can with no added flavor and the rice that came with it was bland as well. Â I ended up putting the rice in my broth aka chicken tortilla soup to add some substance to my soup.
We were not impressed. We may go back and try it for Happy Hour as the drink menu looked good and anyone can make a cheese crisp.
