I'm a huge beer girl and a snobby elitist one at that.... with that.....
Love this place! Finally a craft beer place without obnoxiously loud music [or they haven't caved into it yet... ugh.. If I wanted that, I'd go to a whack club... I go to these places for great beer, and great conversation.]
I was waiting for a friend and chatted it up with the 2 bartenders in the meantime. They were super friendly however I felt they could get to know a bit more about beer and the beer that they're serving especially. I felt I knew more about them.... I was ready to take his spot and apply for a job so that someone there knew their stuff...
One of my favorite craft beer places ever is Haymerchant in Houston and I can say that this is probably the closest to it that Tucson has to offer and that's GREAT that there even are parallels I can draw!
In comparison to other beer places, I'd say Please oh please get more taps! [the selection is great, but 1702 and some other places are killing it with their selection and # of tap handles... even yucky Junxion has 7 IPA handles alone.. and Whole Foods has more handles....]
Not sure how service is so I just went to the bar and grabbed a seat there. Some small grabs of food would be nice. Maybe they're cool with you bringing your own? Not sure.... Â
Loved this place and I could easily spend a few more hours inside just like last time.
I LOVE LOVE this little spot! Â We went in on the day of their grand opening and what can I say it's such a great idea! Â We didn't know how the setup worked at first but we quickly caught on to just order at the bar, seat yourself and enjoy the goodness. Â So far every time I've gone I always go for the flight because how can you not? Â They have great unique beers on tap and instead of pints of one or two you can try a good size sample of 5. Â They are constantly rotating beers and the first time we were there the menu changed 3 times! Â Service has always been friendly and helpful and I love their window seating and the fact that if they don't have a food truck out front you can just order pizza from up the street and have it delivered. Â Great job Tap & Bottle!
Review Source:WOW! Beer lovers rejoice! Wine lovers, fear not, they've got you covered too. It's evident that owners, Rebecca and Scott put a ton of thought into Tap & Bottle, which serves as a giant tasting room and retail shop. Given that it's a tasting room, there is no food for purchase, but the awesome thing, is that they encourage customers to bring in food and food trucks are making their rounds and setting up shop out front. Great solution for a place that only serves alcohol. Â They've about 20 beers on tap and the selection rotates, meaning that if they run out of a certain beer, they'll quickly replace it with another and they even update their giant menu on the wall. The setup is incredibly smart and I was so pleased to see how quickly the menu board is updated. That's key in a place like this. Whether you're a beer novice or total connoisseur, there is a beer for you! I love the variety and the fact that they also feature local beer and wine. I especially like that they don't just carry local product for the sake of having something local. They pick carefully and their choices are top notch! Ever heard of a cask-conditioned beer? They have that too! Their attention to detail shows through and through. As each beer is served in its proper glassware.
If you'd rather enjoy your brew at home, head straight to the back for a diverse and global selection of beer and wine. Seriously, the options are endless.
Additionally, the interior rocks! It can get a little loud in there, but the atmosphere really lends itself for hanging out for a few hours. It feels like home. There's plenty of seating, but the place gets packed!
What makes this place extra awesome is their sense of community. Tap & Bottle will also serve as a place for special events as well as educational sessions.
Tap & Bottle is off to an excellent start. The staff is super friendly and with more product training (which is quite an undertaking with so much rotation), things will only run smoother. It would be a good idea to consider stocking napkins and basics for the food, even if they don't serve it.
Welcome to the scene Tap & Bottle!
