It's okay. Good for tourists when the mariachi band is playing.
Unfortunately, when the band goes on break, they played loud piped in club music, like dance or hiphop or something obnoxious. That could stop. Yuck.
This is a kitschy Tucson restaurant, the food is okay. Nothing extra special. The tableside guac girl came up before we could read the menu, so we didn't see the cost before we ordered, which would have been nice because some items come with guac. The drinks were rather weak, but the tamales were good for a restaurant. I recommend the chile relleno.
The waiter was surly and dismissive but efficient. The other staff was very nice. Not busy at all for 7pm on a Friday. I can understand why. Dinner for four, with one drink each, no dessert was $109.00. Thatsa lotsa dollars for Mexican food in Tucson. Ouch. That said, I won't go back unless another group of tourists want to visit. It's safer and cleaner than taking them across the border.
Wanted to try an old Tucson restaurant - walked in and the waiter asked me what I wanted. I should have realized that was a bad sign and turned around. The lunch buffet was recommended but was terrible: nothing was labeled, some food was cold, and no entree was prepared with any pride. At least lunch was cheap - but getting the proper change back from the waitress was almost impossible. Cool interior ambiance was only good part of lunch....
