I adore this place. Friendly staff, best sliders ever, and there is something  magical about the tator tots. Martini Mondays are my favorite..any martini you want...5 bucks.  Taco Tuesday is fantastic also. I was surprised at how good the chicken tacos are. Flawless. Beef are good, but not as good as the chicken. My favorite stop for an attitude adjustment.

    The gem of Winchester.
What a great find this place is. Took my family to an early dinner here and found it to be top notch in terms of food and service.  The ambiance is great if you are visiting before late eve hours as it gets busy with bikers and sports bars aficionados.. Going back to the food, we sampled a few different menu items from the happy hr menu, including the chicken and beef kebabs and the sliders.. Let me tell you the burgers were excellent, nicely charbroiled and really tasty, same with the kebabs.. I ordered the kebabs over lettuce and my wife ordered the fish and chips, while the kids enjoyed some crispy home made mini corn dogs and home made fries.. Everything delicious and the service was immediate even on a full restaurant.. If you don't want to spend a lot and enjoy really good pub fair this is the place to go..

We always saw this place when we had to run to Stater Bros for a couple things and heard good things about it so we decided to give it a shot. Walking in, it was much smaller then I thought it was going to be and very crowded (Friday night) with locals. Drink specials seemed to be ok as everyone in the place seemed to be needing a cab home. Since then we have tried a few times for carryout. I hated the fact that you had to walk through the patio area to get in the restaurant, since the patio are is also the designated smoking section. You have to walk through the cloud of smoke as you enter. How drink prices are low, food prices seem to be higher then they should be.

So far we have tried the following: Sliders- This comes with 4 of them, but they aren't really sliders. They are about the size of a burger you would get at a McDonalds but a little thicker. They were decent and sometimes we pick some up.
Wings- Instead of driving all the way to Buffalo Wild Wings, these worked in a pinch and were actually pretty good. A little overcooked everytime we have got them, but we continue to get them anyway.
French Dip- Was good and flavorful, but very salty. Salty to the point where I had a stomach ache. Not sure if it was the sandwich or dipping sauce since I dipped every bite.

If you are looking to get a little drunk with the locals and enjoy some drunk food, this is your hangout in French Valley. If not, then it is just an ok place to get some ok food.

This place is a great place to watch a sports game, get a drink, and eat some good burgers or sandwiches! I suggest the tater tots instead of fries. The servers are bubbly and fun to talk to and the whole atmosphere is good all around!

I finally had a chance to stop in here today. It's small, but I like it. Our server was prompt in greeting us. We started with a sampler, which was alright, nothing to brag about. I ordered the prime rib dip, which was delicious. My other half ordered fish 'n' chips, and he wasn't a fan. The tartar sauce was good, though. The portion sizes are generous. Next time we will stick with sandwiches and burgers. Even though he didn't like his meal, we would definitely return.

Great local hang out for French Valley residents. Their happy hour menu kicks butt, especially their fish tacos.

I am a fan of Sky Box.  It is a tiny bar, with a very relaxed atmosphere.  Not too much seating, but there is a small outside patio.  They are not trying to be anything but a chill neighborhood bar, a great place to meet up with a few friends for an after work drink.  I like that they have beer pitchers at reasonable prices.  I have always had surprisingly good food and friendly service here.  I like the wraps, sky chips and salads.  Also happy hour fish tacos, wings and bottle caps (sliced fried jalapenos) are good and cheap.  I am always up for a cold one at Sky Box.

Giving it three stars for the food. The place is a dive in a strip mall next door to a massage parlor  and it's NOT family friendly. Nudie electronic coin game at the bar can b seen by any children entering the bar. I'm sure that's some sort of crime.  That being said, the menu is one of the best bar menus I've seen in the area. Be prepared for smaller wine, beer, and shot glasses though, you'll have to order two of anything.

UPDATE---  Okay, I'm not one to eat my words, but I'm gonna eat a few here.  We've been back 3 times since my first review. (hey, it's closeby)  And I have to say I've changed my mind a bit.  FIRST...We stopped by on Easter Sunday only to find it closed, BUT...not just closed, but they were tearing the place apart cleaning.  I MEAN cleaning!  Booths taken out, windows washed, and who knows what else behind the bar.  As a chef....THAT IMPRESSED ME!

Second -- For the second time, Juan, the chef has come out personally and clarified our order, introduced himself and made sure everything was exactly the way we ordered it.  That's OUTSTANDING SERVICE to me.

I don't care if it is a dive bar.....it's VERY clean, and the chef takes pride in what he puts out.  That's all I want in a neighborhood bar any day of the week.

    Keep it up guys!!!

WOW...I must say I am impressed!  My husband and I came here for an early dinner after a long day of house hunting.  We were starving so we got a lot of food haha.  My hubby got a beer, flat tire I believe and he really liked it.  It was happy hour so we got a cheese quesadilla to share, it came with chips and salsa and that was pretty good!

For our meal my hubby got the blue cheese stuffed burger with fries and I got the burger that came with avocado and swiss...don't remember what it was called but it was so good!  We ordered ours medium and they were perfectly cooked, still juicy!!  I got mine with no bun and it came stacked with all the other toppings, ate it with a fork and knife and it was awesome.  You can tell that the burgers are hand made and not frozen patties.  They weren't perfectly round and really thick and juicy.  They had great flavor and so did the fries!  Well cooked and seasoned.

The service was great as well.  Owned by locals, run by locals and you can tell, it really makes a difference.  It feels like you are at a friends house having a bite to eat.  Very cool!

What a little gem in an area that seems a bit out of the way.  It is a must try!

This is a great bar/grill. If it were closer to my home I would be a regular. I would also weight 30 lbs more and be drunk most of the time. So don't open a second location any closer to Canyon Lake!

Wife and I were in the area on Saturday, early afternoon, and decided to stop in. I had seen some reviews on Yelp. Place was very comfortable, not too loud. They have seating at the bar, some booths and tables, and a covered outside patio. The booths were all taken, as was most of the bar - pretty good for Saturday at 3PM. We chose an inside table.

Busboy came by as we were sitting down and made sure table had been cleaned up.  Bartendress (Nettie, I believe) showed up soon thereafter, brought us menus, answered questions, brought drinks & water and took our orders. All of this was done while she was very busy, and yet we did not feel rushed or ignored at all.

We ordered the fish tacos, which came with tortilla chips, and the bacon wrapped cheese dog which came with HOME MADE potato chips. It was all outstanding! Many of their sauces and dressings are made in-house, and the sauce on the fish tacos was great. The fresh potato chips were exceptional, and all the orders were tasty and good sized.

Some of the reviews on Yelp denigrate the food. It seems as if some people just do not review places taking the type of place and the location into their ratings. There is a comment that: "...the food was not great...". Compared to what? You want great food? Drive up to West Los Angeles, go to Providence, spend $150-200 PER PERSON, then add your liquor bill, and I guarantee that you will have "great" food.

But Skybox is not about "great" food. It bills itself as a "Grill & Tavern". To me this means that they have a bar and bar-based comfort food. If you add the friendly and efficient service and the very reasonable prices, you should be very happy.

I am sincerely impressed with this bar and the service. It's not very crowded and I feel like more people need to know about this place.

I work down the street from skybox and go there for lunch frequently, great food and great people! Many others at my work go there as well, and I have never heard a complaint about the service or the food. The waitresses are very friendly and I am happy to enjoy my food in such a comfortable environment. The last few times I have eaten there Michaela has been our waitress and she's such a kind person and always makes me feel welcome! The burgers and salads are my favorites on the menu and I reccommend this to anyone looking for a nice dining experience. Ask for Michaela!

Major improvement since my last visit.  My beer was cold and bartender kept them coming just as I asked.

Since I can walk home, I have no reason not to return.

    Cheers!

2nd worse service in the Temecula Valley. The food was ok, better then the service. We each had a burger, medium rare. They came out medium but the flavor was good and the avocado very fresh. They were out of the appetizer we wanted. The first time I tried to eat here we left after 20 minutes because we never got served; no menus, no waiter, no nada. Only went back because I had a gift certificate. No plans to return.

I love this place! I usually meet my friends here after we all get off work at night. Sometimes they'll be super slow when we get there and shut down early for the night, which is totally understandable, but most times theres a pretty decent crowd.
They have great drink specials that constantly change (my favorite are the $3 long islands) and the staff is super nice and accommodating. This is my favorite low-key place to come and get a drink around town.

Love the fact that this place is only a mile from home. Can get a little crazy on a Friday night (in a good way) there is also a dj on Fridays and $5 shot specials if your in the mood for getting tanked. Very small place but still fun. Oh and the food is pretty good too! The girls at the bar are always friendly.

Great little hangout. Staff are very attentive and the food is awesome! It is small, but that adds to the charm and makes it feel like a local hangout and not one of those cookie-cutter sports bars. My only gripe is my husband keeps going when I'm at work, but that's not their fault :-)

I was hoping this place would be great if only for my sister and brother-in-law's sake as they live real close to it.  Dropped in for a beer and snack Friday afternoon.  It was pretty hopping for a weekday afternoon, it makes me wonder if it turns sardine can at night and weekends?

There was a decent selection of beer for such a small place and the prices weren't bad either.  However, the apps that my brother-in-law and I got were horrible.  Hint, nachos should have cheese on them... Hot wings were overcooked and the sauce was common.  However, I saw a  couple burgers that a couple other people ordered and they looked incredible.  If there's a next time for me I'll make sure to go hungry and go for a burger.

Given the overall experience this was 3 stars for me, but I'm guessing this may become the local for my fam.

Not a bad little sports bar. It's not really spacious, but there's lots of tv's, good beer on tap, good food, and hot bartendresses. My better half and I really like to hit this place, I just wish it was closer to the house.

The first time I came was with a friend who had been before and wanted to go back.  I wasn't too keen on the idea as I'd driven by a few times and was never all that impressed.  Once inside all that changed.  There was a bar where people were happy, tables that had food that looked pretty good (and it was!) and a staff that was on the ball and very pleasant!  Happy hour had great specials.  I've come back a few times since and LOVE this place!  You must come here!

Impressed! Although it was a Monday night, there were a few people there and some drink specials. The bartender was a total sweetheart and the outside patio is small but has a cute ambiance to it. It's close to home so I'll check it out again eventually when it might be a bit busier. Try the Scooby Snack - amazing!

I've been driving by this place for months now since I moved in the area and finally ventured in last night with a friend.   It's definitely larger inside than it looks from outside!  Sure, it's still a small neighborhood bar but just not tiny like I expected, which is a good thing.

Walking in there are booths to the left and right, and on the right the bar with stools around it as well.  There looked to be four or five tvs but I can't say for sure since half of them I glimpsed in the reflection of the mirrors or window.  I wasn't there to watch any sports but I did catch some hockey on one and was very happy to see each tv had a different channel/sport going on, including boxing.  I think this is a huge *bonus* point as I really dislike going to a sports bar and there's only one or two games going on the gazillion screens.

We didn't eat any meals but had some kick ass drinks and an appetizer.  If you like strong drinks this is the place to go!   I actually felt a buzz after two drinks last night and it usually takes at least four elsewhere.  More kudos: when we ordered drinks they asked if we had any particular preferences in brand.

The mozzarella triangles were so yummy I see myself visiting often just for them. We got three, but they were large, half-circle shaped, at least twice the usual mozzarella stick.  During happy hour at half off ($7.99 original) they were totally worth it.

Skybox is definitely a place I can see going to by myself after a long day of work.  I'd give a 4 1/2 stars if possible only because the crowd was a bit loud so it was kinda hard to hear at times.   The music on the other hand, was awesome.   Music was from XM stations and up until the last half hour it was rock/alternative, then it was switched to reggae.  A good variety, not too loud but overall the music set a great "chill" mood.

A perfect place to hang out with friends and even small groups.  If you're loud, you'll fit in, as the bartender wasn't exactly quiet himself.

    Good times!
