This is a very high quality establishment. Its is immaculately clean and I must say that I have never gotten in the least bit ill from eating here. Faint praise I can hear you saying but that is not something that can be said for ALOT of eating establishments. The staff welcomes you with a friendly greeting upon entering and you order at a counter and take a seat. This is one of the few establishments that offer Pepsi and Coke products along with sweet and unsweet tea. I cannot stress enough how clean this joint is, there is not a speck or hint of dirt anywhere. I never cease to be impressed. Now for the food. That is why your reading this I guess. Fantastic. There are now four kinds of sauce, three of which I can vouch for. There are the usual mild, medium and hot and not there is a mustard variant that is not completely common to this part of the country. I cannot vouch for that one, yet but you better believe that oversite won't last long! The mild sauce is very mild and the medium is really more mild. The hot is quite flavorful but is not that hot. Its got more of a spicy thing going than sear your throat and guts hot thing going. The jumbo beef and pork sandwiches are quite good and are just what they claim, jumbo. If you decide to get the sandwich combo you get a side order and a med. drink. My fav though is one of the five BBQ dinners. These come with two sides and Texas toast. For the standard dinner you have your choice of beef (sliced), pulled pork (not chopped), turkey (yes I said turkey), ham (again, I did say ham), links, or a half chicken. There are also ribs a catfish dinner and the ultimate the Combo Dinner that includes beef, pork, turkey, ham and ribs, this is my favorite. I must admit I am totally powerless against the Combo Dinner. Yes I am helpless but there does not seem to be a support group for those who cannot resist the Combo Dinner. I have not had the catfish but all the meats are fantastic with a very high degree of quality. The half chicken is easily among the best BBQ chicken I have ever had. Taz, the Tasmanian Devil never stripped a chicken or rib bone so fast.
Smokey's also has hamburgers, foot long hot dogs and chicken strips and BBQ salads. Children's meals are available as well. Side orders are extensive, however I cannot comment on any except the onion rings and the fries. While I suspect both came from a bag, there is nothing wrong with that and are both quite good. I drive at least 20 minutes to get to this place and pass several BBQ joints, I think that pretty much speaks for itself.
