Second time back to this family owned, traditional, Mexican restaurant.  It still has a typical appearance and menu for its category but with impressive attention to detail that pushed me up a star. We were again greeted promptly and cordially and seated in one of the padded seat booths with hand carved backs.  Menu still seems to feature common dishes but is comprehensive.  I tried the Sol Vallarta burrito which is a 12" flour tortilla filled with beef or chicken, rice, beans and grilled fresh red and green bell pepper and onion.  Rolled, it was about 2" in diameter.  Peppers were still slightly crunchy but onion was soft.

They accommodated my request to switch the burrito sauce for the mole which was again a pleasing blend of bitter/sweet chocolate/chili.  It is not to be missed and is as good as grandma's.  A side salad with 1/4 cup of diced iceberg lettuce, 1 Tbs of guacamole and 1 Tbs of sour cream was included on the plate.

This might not get 4 stars in a big city where it wouldn't stand out as much but deserves them in this setting.

Beer, wine and margueritas are available.   CLOSED ON MONDAY!

This is a great place to eat! We love the food here and have been the many "big city" Mexican places and Sol's is by far the best.  They can customize about anything and always ask if everything was good at the end to make sure you were happy.  If you are in town or driving through do not miss the chance to eat here.

Sols is a great place for consistently tasty mexican food. I love there burritos and chimichangas! Also the bar in the back is a great place to hang out and play pool. Great people and a nice environment. Definitely my favorite place in Colfax!

Not many restaurants in Colfax. This restaurant is right on Main Street-easy to find- clean, comfortable and my salad was very simple and healthy-chicken,tomatoes,lettuce.. not sure what else..it was supposed to be a taco salad but it was super plain and very bland- had to add the salsa from my chips to it..
Prices reasonable. Bathroom very clean. Service a bit slow considering there were only about 5 people total in the restaurant.
Might try again if in the area.. but..

This place is horrible!!!  They're fast, but the food is stale!!! The worst Mexican food I've ever had and I've been to over a 100 Mexican Restaurants.  The food is pricey and more expensive than normal, since there's not much in Colfax. Your better off getting something more fresh and faster at the local Taco Time in town.  That's what I should have done.  When I complained about how stale and old the food tasted, then tried to ask for something more simple and fresh they refuse to make it right and tried to avoid me.  I just wanted to pay for my food and get out of there then write a review on every site I could find them and warn everyone else to watch out for this place!!!   Horrible service and horrible food.

This is just your every day Mexican food. I'm told service is usually pretty fast, but we managed to pick a day that found a party of 30 stopping in the same time we did.

Their guacamole is good, but the mole enchiladas, while tasty, could use a little less sugar. I'm a mole fanatic, and it's best when it has darker, nuttier flavor (nothing beats Pueblo Nuevo's mole)

Prices are also reasonable. There's not much in Colfax, and this is a fine option. Just note, they're closed much of the weekend (dinner only) and all day Monday.
