It's not as filthy as people make it out to be. Â You're in a bar/concert venue! Â What do you expect?! Â I saw Device when they had their first concert here. Â It's not my favorite venue, but I enjoyed myself. Â I really liked the raised seating along the wall. Â I was not interested in getting in the middle of the giant mosh pit. Â
I did have two complaints about the venue:
1. Â The men's bathroom is only big enough for one person. Â That's a huge oversight at ANY bar or concert venue.
2. Â One of the speakers had a busted cone that rattled throughout the entire show, so that was pretty annoying.
All things considered, I will return
This is a filthy place. Beware if you're wearing nice shoes, they WILL get stuck to the floor and your bare foot will touch the most disgusting floor known to man. I don't even WANT to know what I stepped in. The night I went it was so crowded I kept getting pushed and shoved and the drinks were HIGH PRICED for such a nasty place. Trust me, find somewhere else or listen to the bands out on the street. Don't waste your time or money with this crummy place.
Review Source:So, if you are not familiar with downtown Mobile you have to have a membership card for some venues that serve Adult Beverages. Â That was a shock to this Florida girl. Â I went for a concert scheduled to start at 9:30. Â I got there at 9:00 at 11:30 it still hadn't started. Â I asked one of the bartenders what was happening, he had no idea. Â I then asked for a manager. Â I was told nobody was available. Â I then was told by an employee that the band was running late. Â I finally asked a technical person from the band what was up. Â (This is the point when I realized that it is no fun to be the sober person in a crowd full of drunk people. Â This was not the night to have been pacing myself.) Â The guy from the band told me the bad wasn't scheduled to play until midnight. Â He also said the venue always advertised the start time as much earlier than it actually is. Â I have no problem waiting half and hour or an hour, but at that point I left. Â I called back the next day to ask about it, and sent a follow up email. Â I could never get a return call or email from Soul Kitchen. Â I did, however, get a very nice email from the band.
