I just visited Spinners for the first time tonight after leaving another establishment and I'm thinking of making this place my new spot! The bar has a good vibe and the beers were pretty big! Didn't order any food or spend a whole lot of time there tonight, but my first experience was a positive one. Will definitely come back if my old haunt continues to disenfranchise it's patrons.
Review Source:I wish I could really give this place 2 and a half stars because thats about what it deserves. Like alot of bars  Ive walked in to find this place packed and other times if walked in to find the place dead with only a few regulars at the bar.
First let me start with the good, the beer is cold, served in an oversized mug and reasonably priced. You will sometimes see some pretty motorcycles parked outside you can stare at but not touch. The wait staff is somewhat attentetive and friendly and the restrooms are reasonably clean and maintained. Food is nothing special, but good for what it is.
What does not work for spinners is the live music and DJ. First of all theres no need for a DJ if you dont have a dance floor. Honestly if I wanted to dance I would go to a club or a dancehall not to a small bar and grill. If you go with friends the only way to have a conversation over the loud music is to stand out on the small patio. The in house music might play something country before a DJ plays Top 40 hip hop so be warned the music is all over the map.
All in all spiners is a great place to grab a quick beer on the way home from work. Also if you go with a date take advantage of Cindies a few doors down in the same strip mall.
I've been to Spinner's a handful of times but I think I'm done for awhile. It's been said already, but this place has slowly devolved into a ghetto joint run by some wannabe thugs. Â It's a Wednesday night at 8pm, the place is half empty, and they decide to have a DJ set up and BLAST music. During the NBA playoffs. My ears were ringing when I left after the first quarter, but not before spending $13 on two Jameson's before tip.
They still make a good burger so I'll give them the extra star.
My ex best friend worked here last year. She used to accept 8balls of coke from her regulars and snort with her co workers in the bathroom. She also, along with her 'friends' would pick up older men who frequented Spinners and take them for a ride in their cars if you catch my drift. Â This place is shady as shit. But the shots are just greeeeat.
Review Source:This placece USED to be a GREAT spot to hang out with friends, BUT became extremely messy. Please step up the DRESS CODE & you will see more people enjoying themselves there. Its bad enough there isnt hardly any bars in Pflugerville, that the ones close by have gotten bad for lack of mismanagement. Bartenders can be rude, one looks like the smell of a bad fart paralyzed her face, waitresses are ok, especially the tall one & the one with tattoos. It gets EXTREMELY GHETTO now!
Review Source:Best Wings in AUSTIN!! And a great place to watch NFL on Sunday.... Bartenders (Marci and Ally) are awesome.. if my beer looks almost empty they bring another one right away.. and like i said - THE WINGS are GREAT! and they have plenty of TVs to watch your game.. kicks third base in the assprin bottle..
Review Source:My first time here. I popped in for lunch. I saw they had Irish Red on tap. My pulse started racing, as I haven't had one in awhile. Â That rush ended rather quickly. Â Cowgirl BT was all too quick to tell me they don't have it! Â Why is it on the menu? Â This place wasn't crowded. As a matter of fact I was customer #7, yet it took pretty lil' cowgirl in her shit kickers 10 minutes to take my order. Cowgirl isn't big on service. Maybe she's better on a horse! Â So this turned out to be another one of those wtf were you thinking moments. Â I ordered the gyro and fries. The fries were pretty good and crispy, I like them that way. Â The gyro was a fkng nighrmare! Â It came with fries on it!!! Â You don't do that to a gyro!!! Â I took the fries off and took a big bite!! I damned near spit it out! Â First of all the meat was those frozen thin greasy strips, yuk! Secondly it was built wrong! Â They put the nasty meat (it ain't meat. There's no way) on top of the veggie (a tomato) and the sauce. The tatziki sauce was warm (shudder) and had no flavor. I tried to masticate my bite without showing my disgust. Â Didn't work! Â It was flavourless and GUMMY! Â Ewwwww! Â What's making this gummy is all I could think about! Â So I told pretty cowgirl to cash me out. She commented that I didn't eat, and asked if everything was ok. I told her no, that I didn't like the sandwich. She apologized and offered to bring me something else. Â I told her no it was ok. She brought my check and pointed out that she comped a couple of my beers! Â Â That was impressive! Â It got her a good tip. The only person happy here was the pretty little cowgirl. Ye hah!
Review Source:Been going here for a couple years now and I will continue to go back... The staff is always prompt and hardworking... the chef (Jose) is UNBELIEVABLY talented... his dishes are so delicious every single time I eat there. Â Next time they have a best burger contest in Austin I hope he submits his because I know he will win.
The girls are beautiful and friendly, the DJs always play the good stuff, and their drink specials are always what I am looking for. Â Go check them out... you won't be disappointed.
Nice atmosphere, food was good, drinks a little on the pricey side but manageable. Overall this place was pretty good. Both my husband and i shared fried pickles, he ordered shrimp tacos and i, the brisket wrap. The people watching here is interesting as well. DJ on the Saturday we were there was horrible. In fact i don't even remember him playing a full song and there would be this awkward silence between "halfway" songs. Might try this place again in the near future if i am in the area but would not consider it my new hang out.
Review Source:For a small local bar, this is a fun place! Gets packed after 10pm on the weekends. The "view" at this place has never disappointed me. Great beer selection on Tap kinda pricey, although I truly miss getting 512Pecan Porter(local microbrew) there. :( Â Watching a special sports event is awesome here, plenty of plasma t.v's!
Review Source:Had a great time here Saturday night. Not a rowdy obnoxious crowd, good music and sports on TV. All you want in a bar! Drinks were great and my husband was thrilled that they had Modelo Especial on tap! I think he can only find that at 2 other places around town. Great service. Overall, a pretty solid experience.
Review Source:I have incredibly mixed feelings about Spinners.
My wife and I went here for the first time recently for drinks and appetizers. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. My wife wasn't sure what she wanted, and the waitress had really cool suggestions and ended up bringing her something that she really liked (it had cake flavored vodka in it). We ordered the Spinners fries, which are essentially chili cheese fries, and they were amazing. After a couple drinks each and an appetizer, our tab was pretty reasonable (just under $20 pre-tip).
It wasn't until after we left that things went sour. My wife watches our finances like a hawk, and when the charge from Spinners came through it was $126. I went in to the restaurant shortly after and asked if I could talk to a manager about the charge. I was pleased to see that the manager on duty was actually our waitress from that night. When I showed her the charge though, instead of saying something along the line of "Omg I'm so sorry I don't know that happened" her response was  "No, that's what you tipped. I remember."
Seriously?? Why would I give a $100 tip and then come in and complain about the charge? Obviously, even if that's what was on the check, if I'm in the restaurant complaining about the charge I wasn't the one who wrote it. After a little bit of arguing, she reluctantly handed me a $100 bill out of the register. There's no way to know for sure whether she slipped a 1 in front of our total or some other patron thought it would be funny. It's not like we stiffed her (~$6 on a ~$20 tab is pretty nice). It's also not like we were being loud and angering any of the neighboring tables.
At best, Spinners needs to do a better job handing checks and clearing tables quickly. At worst, they have some corrupt workers there who aren't afraid to steal from patrons. In either case, they need to do a better job handling complaints about such overcharges.
I was pretty sad about this because other than that I really enjoyed my trip here. I would recommend checking it out if you're looking for a bar with good prices and good food, but make sure to put a ----- in front of the total on your check.
Quick Summary: Food was great, all the waitresses are hot + service was good/above average, didnt try to be bitchy about an online discount offer.
Got the burger, hot, fresh... pretty damn good. On a sweet bun, so if your not a big fan (meh...) FYI.
Lots of drink specials, and the juke-box-ish playlist music wasnt unbearable. Not great... but not stomach turning.
I gave the 5th star for the great customer service and not arguing about a $10 discount on a $50 tab.
A co-worker and I stopped here for lunch one day thanks to Yelp. Â Small but high quality lunch menu. Â I had a very good cheeseburger and affordably priced pint of microbrew. Â Easily accessible parking lot with ample space for a lunch and/or dinner crowd. Â The scenery was a delightful surprise as well.
Review Source:I'm updating my review given the fact that there is finally more parking... behind the bar, down the hill, in the dirt, under the oak tree :) My two stars go to three given the fact my biggest complaint was the parking at night. I still don't find this place to be all that exciting and only go because my friends that live in P-Ville live down the street.
Review Source:This place has a good beer selection, descent looking food, and quite a few tvs. Â They also have a small patio area. Â This would definitely be a good place to check out a game on a nice day when they can open the place up. Â I went on a Friday night and the dj was way too loud, but other than that I had no complaints. Â The waitresses were quick with our drinks the bill was way cheaper than I expected. Â I will check this place out again. Â Hopefully on a night when there is a descent game on and no DJ, though he did play some good music.
Review Source:Friendly staff, cold beer & lots of tvs. Don't need much else in a bar. They have a lot of theme  nights. Haven't been to many, but they have a good DJ on Friday nights. The patio is pretty nice to relax on warms nights.
The menu looks alright. Tried the Briskit Nachos, they were good!
Good place to hang out and chill with a few beers
Oh Thank You Spinners for having a Bike Night. Â No longer do I need to venture to Hardtails where the service SUCKS!
I totally enjoyed my first time at Spinners and will be back. Â The waitress was very attentive. Â There were many options on the menu. Â The food was very good and the atmosphere was laid back.
Now to make Spinners even a little bit more fun? Â Have a Ladies Bike Night! Â Get in some good-looking men to wash our bikes but keep the bikini wash for the ladies that prefer ladies if you know what I mean ;-)
Spinners took the poor Krush Lounge and cut it in half and remodeled it. In the process they made it a much friendlier bar.
The faux brick and stone interior is much more inviting, And any bar with a buck head on the wall seems more homey to me in some weird Texas way i suppose. I want to steal their Landshark surfboard off the wall as well. It would look much better on my wall i think.
We enjoyed several decent Patron Margarita's and Tequila shots.
Yeah they still have the youngish bartenderesses who are mostly friendly and the location next to the mysterious Rockstar's establishment means you have folks hangin here to get in over there on weekends (for whatever they do over there).
But i really enjoyed my experience here at Spinners. I will definitely be back. So far so good !
