Mike robbed me $50 tonight when I couldn't decide which bottle to buy, and then admitted he stole it from me because he didn't like me, then threatened me and told me never to come back.  I told him I was going to negativereview #buycott his ass, all over the net.  Please tell all of your friends to take this place off the map, start fights, steal drinks, trash it.  I'm out.

My friend and I spent NYE here! It picked up quickly and every one there was very nice! DJ was the bomb & Ted made the best Long Island Iced Tea ever! I didn't expect Santa Barbara would be THE place to go and have fun, but it made the NYE so much fun & nice. I will definitely go back there soon~* ;)

I heart this place and Ted the bartender is AWESOME. Wasn't sure Santa Barbara was a place to get my dance on until we stumbled upon Statemynt. Good music, plenty of space and an empty dance floor.  I was with a group of 11 girls who left Savoy because it was lame. We had so much fun that the bartender invited us back the next night for bottle service. Quality service, good music and no line for the bathroom. Statemynt is a do!

    Good DJ, no crowd

Very unusual club. The bartenders are cool as shit, the place is setup nice, but the 3 nights i was here i'd walk by and hardly anyone would be in there. The DJ has amazing mixes so i came in and ordered some drinks. Place got a lil crowd, but nothing special.

I have little experince with this place so if i were you i'd drop by next time your on state street looking for something to do. If its empty you have the rest of the street atleast.

Expensive drinks, horrible house music, and a general rundown look is the only statemynt this place made.

We must admit that Statemynt was not our favorite.

It seems to want to be hip, but really has a seedy feel to it.  Perhaps what added to that feeling of seediness is the fact that there is no signage anywhere and that there was no one in there the entire time we were there.

We spoke to the owner/bartender, who seemed like a nice enough guy.  He described how they tried to get signage, but the SB City Council kept making it hard for him, so he decided it was cool to not have a sign.  Hmmm...after seeing ALL of the other signs for ALL the other businesses on State Street, Evil wondered about that...

Anyhow, we deduct 1 star from Statemynt for the lack of signage.  We deduct another star for inserting a random "y" in the name.  But we add a star back for the super hot bartender, who S2 fell madly in love with.

There are Tvs for your sports fans.

    They play rock and roll

they have local art by artists of the area.

I went on an off nice....yesterday...on a Tuesday...when all the kids are out of town.

    My drink was decently priced.

It's dark in there. squee. But they have a heater and lights, and youc an play beer pong there.

    So yeah, I'm going back.

    Check it.

Statemynt was SO HUGE when it first opened, it was packed every weekend night and there was a line out the door. Now it is the complete opposite (At least the times I've been there recently). I like the bars that are packed and full of people so it's sort of sad that Statemynt's luster has gone down so much so fast.

It's sort of dark, a long and narrow room with a large bar and a dance floor with a small stage to hop up on. And there's a small patio outside for smoking, getting some air, etc.

Nothing spectacular, but it's a fun place to dance.

After spending 10 years in the Bay Area and coming back to Santa Barbara as a DJ it has not been easy to readjust to the scene out here. I found Statemynt and felt a weight roll off my shoulders. Folks that run are good people, security is super friendly and the drinks are strong. What more could I want?

Oh that's right... MUSIC. Everytime I go in there it's quality, from house to 80's tunes, these guys are getting some of the best DJ's in town and from beyond.

Statemynt gets the DJ Kure All stamp of approval.

Cool place.  Drinks were a little on the more expensive side, based on other places we went on State Street.

Played really great music and had a fun group for dancing.

    Had a fun time!

This is by far the worst bar in Santa Barbara.  However, if your idea of fun is battling a crowd of 97% "bros" in Tapout shirts to get a ridiculously overpriced drink , then by all means this is the place for you!

So having never been to Santa Barbara and not knowing what the bar scene would be like, I can say that I was not dissapointed.

Even though there was only two other people in the bar when I walked in (at 3:00 in the afternoon) the bartender was awesome and the other people were cool.  Before I knew it, people flowed in and everyone was having a great time.

    Great drinks, too!!

As one of the other reviews said, it does have an L.A. vibe.  Being from L.A.  I can say that I was not dissapointed and will definitely return on my next visit up the coast.

Fun little dance spot with good music and great bartenders. The dancefloor lights reminded me of my decadent past. People came here to get down and down they got. We had a blast! Really glad we stumbled upon this place.

This place took over the old Study Hall. This venue is about almost a year old. There is one room. It gets VERY crowded as the night goes on. People tend to flock here around 11 and again towards the nights end. They will not let you in usually around 1:15 because it closes at 2.

The decor: it is dark inside, very opened, they have pictures of dead celebrities on the walls. Take it as you will (I think that's their "statemynt"). They have one full bar that gets very crowded once the night goes on, they have several couches for people to sit on, most people will dance on them if they have a chance, they also have a couch in the back where you can sit, its near the bathroom though. Healthy?...They also have a dance floor towards the back, it's pretty small.

The way they have this set up is not the best. They make it out to be a dance club though it is set up as a lounge and therefore, it gets too crowded.

The drinks are decent. They are a bit more pricey here than most of the bars around the area. Since there are not very many lounge/club like places around except maybe Tonic and a few others. Statemynt is trying to give SB people more of the club-like scene to go to.

The music is very good though, includes house, dance, top 40, and old hip hop. This is a trendy place. A downside would be how loud this place is! Don't bother trying to talk and speak clearly and loudly when talking to the bartenders.

Overall, this is not in my top 5 bars to go to in SB, however, it is a nice change for those who are bored of the regular casual, laid back bar scene that is usually around.

Statement was our second stop of the night.  It was still pretty early, but that didn't stop us for having a great time. Our bartender was awesome and even let us dance on top of the bar tables! Granted there was only 10 other people there but the music was great and the drinks were pretty strong. Statement was more of a mixed crowd compare to the other bars we been too in SB. One thing l love about this place is in the back theres sofa's and a back bar to go too. The dance floor is small and it does get pack on a sat night.

I see there's only one review for this place...ya know why?

Cuz nobody knows the damn name to this place. There's no sign outside. It's kinda lame. Lots of drunken little SB college boys. People dancing...letting their clothes and hair fly about by those huge fans. You know the big old ghetto ones. Haha.

I think Statement is trying to make a statement...a lame one.

The Downtown Study Hall is now.....Statement!  Feels like downtown bars are now working on being LA Vibey - and this bar falls much farther towards that scale than did T'he Hall.'  Lot a things going on here....neon colors on the wall, velvet roped off VIP area, DJ booth in the back, again with more neon colors and words on the wall (WTF!?).   Decent sized bar and the back area is wider which allows for drunken dancing.

As for as the 'scene" - still the usual SB crowd (college kids, college kids and more beautiful college kids).  FYI - bathrooms are allocated as "Party Girl" and "Party Boys" and the wording is all graphic-ey and wierd...you may need to squint to figure out where to go if you have had one, or 7 too many.  But then again this is downtown Santa Barbara so who really cares which bathroom you end up in...
