I'll give them two stars because I still like their food, especially the milkshakes! Â but my last few visits to Steak N Shake have been disappointing because of the service.
The last time I visited this particular location I was meeting up with some friends to grab dinner before a movie. Â I was really hungry, and we had already bought our movie tickets, so we didn't have a whole lot of time to waste. Â
When I got there, they had already finished their food and were waiting on the bills. Â I had been sitting there with them for at least twenty minutes before the waitress had even acknowledged our table, meanwhile, she was busy seating other customers and bringing them drinks. Â She came over to us and said she'd be back in a minute. Â I kept getting hungrier and hungrier, hoping she would be back soon! Â We sat there waiting, and I contemplated just going to Sonic instead, where I knew I wouldn't have to wait so long for food.
Twenty minutes later, she came back with their bills, and asked if I would like anything. Â By this time I had utterly given up all hope of dinner at Steak N Shake, and kindly told her I didn't need anything. Â I ended up eating at Sonic that night.
Now, I don't know if our waitress was just having a hectic night, or if they were short-staffed that evening... I'm certainly not going to pass judgment on her, but that was not the best experience I've had at that restaurant. Â
Steak N Shake is a better place to go late at night with a group of friends, or if you're not in a hurry.
