Steak N Shake

Good food. Service is pretty slow. But totally worth it!!

I'll give them two stars because I still like their food, especially the milkshakes!  but my last few visits to Steak N Shake have been disappointing because of the service.

The last time I visited this particular location I was meeting up with some friends to grab dinner before a movie.  I was really hungry, and we had already bought our movie tickets, so we didn't have a whole lot of time to waste.  

When I got there, they had already finished their food and were waiting on the bills.  I had been sitting there with them for at least twenty minutes before the waitress had even acknowledged our table, meanwhile, she was busy seating other customers and bringing them drinks.  She came over to us and said she'd be back in a minute.  I kept getting hungrier and hungrier, hoping she would be back soon!  We sat there waiting, and I contemplated just going to Sonic instead, where I knew I wouldn't have to wait so long for food.
Twenty minutes later, she came back with their bills, and asked if I would like anything.  By this time I had utterly given up all hope of dinner at Steak N Shake, and kindly told her I didn't need anything.  I ended up eating at Sonic that night.

Now, I don't know if our waitress was just having a hectic night, or if they were short-staffed that evening... I'm certainly not going to pass judgment on her, but that was not the best experience I've had at that restaurant.  

Steak N Shake is a better place to go late at night with a group of friends, or if you're not in a hurry.
