I Think 3.5-3.75 is about right for this place.

There are a lot of things I like about this restaurant. All the food I've had has been tasty, the service has been good, and the decor is modern and appealing. The one big negative I have with this place is the price. I think that pretty universally everything is a little too expensive especially given that it is not located in a big city or anything. If you're willing to over look that then it is a good place to eat. I like the Hong Kong crispy noodles.

I can't comment on this place as a watering hole since I've never really partook in this place as a bar venue.

*Keep in mind that this is not a very authentic Chinese restaurant.

Went here with a bunch of coworkers yesterday.  I got the cold spinach noodle chicken salad with peanut sauce.  It was a good meal for a hot day (100 degrees, 7/1/13).  The peanut sauce was a little bit runny.  The venue is nice with good views.  My coworkers ordered the shrimp, kung pao chicken, mongolian beef and chicken curry.  The beef was hard, chewy and not spicy at all.  She said she will never order that again.  The kung pao was not spicy either.  The shrimp was ok but not worth the price and why did the curry come out super spicy?!?!? The plus is they serve brown rice.  The service was under ok.  We had to wait 10 minutes to get our checks and 5 minutes or longer before a waiter came and asked us if we wanted refills on drinks.  Don't be fooled from the fancy interior and exterior because the food does not match the venue.  I guess you can't judge a book by its cover but in this case we definitely can and it wasn't a good judgment.

Kinda slidin' down the scale a bit.
Not for the food or anything like that.
Its just getting a little discouraging, particularly during the musical sets, there seems to be a regular band of locals who gather at the bar who we refer to as the "Loud Drunken Louts Social Club."
We dine often at the bar and occasionally take a table depending on our mood. In either case, the yells and hoots can be pretty distracting.

    Sometimes it gets pretty bad.
Admittedly, some dining spaces can get pretty lively but a normal conversational tone is the accepted social norm.
Some of these cats just outright shout.

I mean, c'mon people, there are musicians performing and diners eating. Check yourself. No one needs to hear you shouting about, "back in the day...yeah there was a guy we saw put a gerbil in a condom and shove it up his...."

    WTF?

We still go to encourage the enterprise and support the entertainment but hope the management can help the regular loudmouths think about those around them.

    or something like that.

This restaurant is located in our neighborhood so we have been going to the bar on Thursday or Friday evenings about once a month for years.  We try to get there early because it's often hard to get a spot at the bar after 5PM.  The beer selection could be better, but the cocktails are great.  The male bartenders are less likeable than the female bar tenders, but oh well....we usually end up chatting with the other patrons anyways.  We've met some very nice people over the years.

Our favorite dishes are the won ton soup, mixed green salad with candied walnuts and grilled chicken, spicy orange beef, and sticky rice chow mein.    The salad is very light and refreshing.  The chow mein and soup have a generous helping of the various meats and they are not too salty unlike many Chinese restaurants.  I don't really care for any of the appetizers.  Some of the dishes are a bit "saucy" but there are great options...you just have to try a few to figure out which ones you like.

We rarely eat at the restaurant, but the wait staff does appear to be a bit "unengaged" and don't appear to really care about their jobs.  The bar staff is much better.  The owner is very funny and caring and we like her a lot.

Bottom Line:  The food is great once you find "your" dishes, the bar staff and bar atmosphere are great, the wait staff doesn't seem to care...which is the only thing that keeps me from giving Sticky Rice 5 Stars.

Five stars is for the Live band that plays here!  2nd Planet was jamming there!  the food is a 3-4 stars in my opinion.  I have to try out the other items but i had the mango shrimp which was pretty good.

I would come here on my lunch hour, around 1 PM, get served pretty quickly and be back just in time to start work again. Usually, since I have only an hour, and I work close by, I was rather pleased.

Lately, though, the business model seems to have changed. I have gone in and been told there will be a five minute wait. I will look around the dining area, and half the tables will be empty. The last time I went there, I was seated immediately, and then waited for 15 minutes for water, as servers and bussers walked by me, giving me sideways glances, like I took it upon myself to choose a table in a high traffic area. I got up and told the hostess that I didn't have time to wait since my lunch hour was only 60 minutes, and I had already wasted 15 minutes sitting there. Based on past service, there is no way I would have been back to work on time.

It feels like Sticky Rice is trying to pad the time so that they appear to be more busy, so if you come here, don't plan on a specific time to be out of the restaurant. The food is pretty good, otherwise, but unfortunately, I won't be back anytime soon.

Our first time for tonight's family dinner!  For a Monday night, the restaurant was pretty busy.

Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked to perfection.
Calamari and Asian chicken salad for starters.  Light and refreshing!
Pork wor wonton soup w/ prawns next.  Flavorful and comforting!
Steamed seabass, crispy spicy pork, bulgogi, and walnut pineapple prawns with steamed rice.  Yum! Yum! Yum!
Fried bananas with green tea ice cream for dessert to end the delightful feast.

Service was a bit slow, distracted, and disengaging.  We were ignored for a bit.  Servers did their job well, but hardly looked you in the eye or even smiled.  Some servers dragged their feet from one task to another.

The food is still a draw!

Came to this place with my girlfriend for her high school reunion. The location was convenient, the ambience was lively, almost obnoxious (the live music was a tad too loud, hard to have a conversation). The service was acceptable, nothing special - they took our initial order, there was a noticeable delay between the next check-in, prompt water refills but no real subsequent service after we received our food.

Walnut pineapple prawns were good, if oversaturated in Mayo. The green papaya salad was the deal breaker. It was easily the worst papaya salad I've ever had, and I've been to plenty of hole-in-the-wall thai places. Terribly balanced, nothing on the palette but citric acid. No papaya, no chili, not even vinegar, just like juice.  I told the server it was not good and to send it back. Her response? "oh, that's how it's supposed to taste. But that's okay, I'll get rid of it for you." as if all the other papaya salads I've ever had have been illegitimate up to this point.

Okay restaurant with ok food considering the price point, nothing outstanding or unacceptable. Minus half for terrible papaya salad and poor handling of the situation by the server, but there are no half stars on yelp so I'll begrudgingly keep it at 3.

My family and I have been here over 5 times in the past 3 months. My parents have used this place as their go-to place when guests come to town. Each time we come here, the service has declined. The last time we went, sealed the deal that we will not be back. I rarely write reviews but this needed to be said.

Service lacked in all aspects, from the server to the hostess to the way that management handled our complaints. The food arrived COLD, and the waiter took so long to get back to our table that by the time the he took the food back to the kitchen to have it re-made we were already almost finished with our other plates.

WORST PART ABOUT THIS VISIT WAS THEY BROUGHT MY BROTHER'S GIRLFRIEND A REFILL WITH A STRAW IN THE CUP WITH LIPSTICK ON IT! SHE DOESNT EVEN WEAR LIPSTICK!!!!!!! DISGUSTING.

It's been about a year since my last review, not much has changed.  Sticky Rice is still one of our favorite dining destinations.  Notice I did not say "Chinese Restaurant" - while it IS one, the atmosphere and to a lesser degree the food is sufficiently different from what one might expect a Chinese restaurant to be that I think they have succeeded in becoming more of an upscale and mainstream eatery.  The clientele is mostly non-Asian, many come here dressed to impress, and some will have a bottle of wine or champagne with their dinner.  How often do you see that in your typical strip-center Chinese dive or in C-Town????

So tonight was a bit on the chilly side and several of my party had colds so three of us ordered soup dishes (Spicy Noodle, Seafood Mi-Fun, and Sizzling Rice Soup)
and one of us ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice.  We also shared a plate of Bok Choy & Shiitake Mushrooms.  We were all satisfied with our dishes, the ingredients were fresh and they were cooked and seasoned just right.  Pricing is still in the $10 to $20 range which I think is about right,  Regular Chinese restaurants would be a couple dollars per dish cheaper, but then that service with a smile, linen napkins and tablecloth, and the clean floors and bathrooms come at a price!!!!!!

Come to Sticky Rice not just for decent Chinese-fusion food but also for a pleasant dining experience.

My Bff & I go to Sticky Rice for Happy Hour Sunday afternoons and sit @ the Bar.. Fast service, bestest drinks, appetizers and when we've ordered a full meal, all has been delicious too!! Can't forget the very friendly & great company of "The Bartender" as well as the owner, employess and the strangers we've met too on a Sunday afternoon :-)

Hidden gem best describes this place.  It's a bit hidden in an office building but inside it has a hip, modern design and nice ambiance.  The bar looks pretty cool but I just had dinner.  They also have a nice outdoor seating area that overlooks a pond with a water feature that might be nice for summer time dining.  We ordered a variety of food including a couple appetizers, soup, chow mein and a chicken entree that wasn't on the menu but they were happy to accommodate.  Everything was delicious and they were happy to package up all the leftovers to go.  Service was good too.  It's a bit pricier than other Chinese restaurants in the area but the food quality is definitely worth it.

Wow-the wait! first impression was bad... we were forgotten about after signing in for a seat.  then once seated, were kind of ignored for a bit.  it was a busy night, so i won't hold it against them.

The food was good, but pretty high priced for what you get.  We ordered a big selection...
Tuna bites- $10 (consisted of cucumber with fresh tuna, cream cheese about 6 pieces) in a bite size
Basil popcorn chickn- $8 tempura chicken pieces sprinkled with basil.  not what i thought it was going to be... but the chicken was crunchy!
kung pao prawns $16- enough for two to share, great!
    crispy tofu- $11
Hot and sour soup- $9  it was okay.  enough for two to share
chicken spring rolls  $8 two rolls, cut in half.

in all everything tasted fine... but i couldn't get over the price vs size.  I'll probably try it again and i may revisit this rating.  But i'll wait a little while.

Meh is right. We stopped in Fairfield for the night during our trip to Napa. We asked the woman at the concierge about her favorite place to eat in the area, and as she was describing Sticky Rice, I envisioned a local version of PF Chang's. Sorry, PF Chang's.

I ordered a Sapporo draft and could already tell the prices were going to be a bit steep... I mean, $4.75 for a glass of Japanese beer?? We decided to start with an appetizer -- the crispy prawn cakes served with a garlic aioli. It reminded me of a cross between the shrimp paste and sugarcane dish at dim sum and Thai tod mun. They were deliciously crispy and arrived piping hot. That garlic aioli was meh but tasted better with some added sambal (thanks to the friendly Asian waitress... basically the only other Asian person in the restaurant, but I digress...)

The appetizer made me hopeful for the rest of the meal but it just went downhill from there. We selected two dishes to share family-style. My choice, the orange beef, was okay. The menu described it as "crispy marinated beef stir-fried in a chili orange soy glaze"... the crispy aspect was severely lacking. I was impressed that the sauce had notes of fresh orange (not like Panda Express orange chicken).

M chose the Hunan chicken - "chicken breast lightly fried and wok glazed in a spicy ginger sauce." I was really excited for this one but the result was disappointingly greasy with a cloyingly sweet sauce. So sad.

The service was actually really good. The decor was dated but forgivable, especially with the view of the man-made (?) lake and fountain outside. The restaurant itself is located in a business park but at least that means there is ample parking during after-work hours. It's really just the food, which was overpriced for the quality that you're getting. I could even overlook lack of authenticity (I'll be the first to admit that Panda Express is a guilty pleasure on occasion), but ethnic references aside, the food itself should still be good. Or tolerable. So two stars - I've (definitely) experienced better.

I've been here one other time since they opened. I remember enjoying the restaurant atmosphere with the water feature and wide windows. Its a clean restaurant and comes off as modern...not a hole in the wall.

My boyfriend and I ordered the walnut pineapple prawns, hong kong crispy noodles and the hunan chicken.  The walnut pineapple prawns came with a white mayo sauce and was very sweet. The crispy noodles were topped with a sweet ginger sauce with beef, prawns, carrots, snowpeas baby corn, broccoli and mushrooms. The hunan chicken was fried chicken in nugget shapes covered in ginger sauce. We also ordered one side of brown rice to balance out our meal.

The flavors were all good but just too saucy. It may be a preference thing, but I'd prefer if there was still some crisp in my noodles, prawns and chicken. It just was a little soggy and overpowering. If they could lighten up on the sauce the meal would of been a 5 star. The service was fine, but I went when it was dead after lunch. A little more expensive than the average Chinese lunch but the restaurant and service was nice.

10/20/12,We ate here for the first time. There was 4 of us and we all ordered something different. We all were very impressed with the taste of food,so we all shared with each other, and OMG,we will be back.To begin we ordered the fried Calamari,Very good, the sauce is to kill for.So when dinner came out,we all said wow, this looks good, and the portion's,well lets say we have lunch for today.
While I already mentioned everything was great,my wife ordered the fried prawns in a pineapple sauce, let me tell you this is a must try, very good. We will be back.
Not taken away from our great experience,we thought the music was good, but we could'nt have a conversation.

Came here for lunch one afternoon and ordered the mongolian beef when it got to the table and I began to eat it I noticed that the beef was not cooked. Now, I love my meet bloody, If I was at The House of Prime Rib would be fine of but at a Chinese restaurant? Disgusting.

Let me explain, exterior of the meat was cooked but when you dug through the sauce the meet was pink and cold. It looked like the chef just cooked the outside of the beef and did not mix it up to cook it evenly. Or it was frozen raw and then cooked to serve. Except they did not actually cook it.

I showed it to my lunch mates and they were about ready to throw up. I told the server and they brought me back a cooked version. They had the audacity to try and make me pay for it, I refused so they took it off the bill.

    I haven't been back since.

Oh, Sticky Rice, you're lucky your delicious food saved you from a scathing review...because your service suuuuuucks.

Came in on a Wednesday night, checked to see the restaurant closes at 10pm. Bf and I came in at 9:35pm and the host made us wait because he had to ask the kitchen if they were still serving...what? Apparently the kitchen closes at 9:45pm most nights, and may close even earlier if the night is "slow"; when the host explained this to us he swept his hand over to the dining area to show 2 parties of 3 or more diners each and a loud group at the bar. That doesn't seem to be a slow night to me...at least not slow enough to close 15 minutes earlier than written closing time. I can understand kitchens may close "early" sometimes, but what irked me the most is the host's demeanor and FACE the entire time he was figuring out if he wanted us to eat here or not. I can't speak for Bf but I personally did not feel welcome at all. He seemed bored or upset, or perhaps just had a really long day and wanted to go home. Not sure, but definitely not good customer service.

After seating, our dining experience the whole time with our waitress also contained the same uncomfortable and unwelcoming attitude that we received upon entrance. I only recall her smiling thrice, and two of those times was to leave and pick up the bill. You can't just smile last minute with the check in your hand and expect all to be forgiven! She didn't refill our waters, and then tells Bf that his strawberry lemonade did not qualify for free refills (more on this issue later) and when he said he would pay for another, she said that the bar was closed so he couldn't even get another one if he wanted. She DID mention beforehand, that the kitchen was closing and had asked us if we wanted anything before they officially shut down, but did not mention that included the bar, which is where they made his drink. We were willing to let that slide, but weren't happy that she couldn't even offer to substitute with a soda or some other drink that did not need to be made at the bar. Way to go, apathetic waitress.

Okay, so here's the BIGGEST issue I have with them at the moment...
If you've read my last review, Bf was unknowingly charged for his refills during a past dining experience The next time we went, we made sure to check if the refills were free or not...and he WAS NOT charged for refills for the same drink, a strawberry lemonade. But now according to our unhappy waitress that night, it turns out that the strawberry lemonade DOES NOT include free refills. I made sure to ask her when did they start charging for refills, and she even said it's always been that way. So, I'm confused...why were we not charged for refills during our last dining experience here? They don't seem to be consistent with their pricing, and that is pretty frustrating.

As always food was great. I love their calamari (sauce is amazing) and mango salad, but unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll be coming back any time soon. I would recommend ordering food to-go, so you don't have to worry about their rocky service but still get the yummy food.

Was here today for a family lunch.  We ordered 7 dishes and ALL were absolutely incredible.  The protein portions are huge, especially impressive was the combo fried rice.

We all agree that this was the BEST Chinese food we've ever had.

Tonight I'm downgrading my review based on the food. The bar continues to be reliably fine--it's like a hotel bar. Nothing great, but not a dive, either.

However, tonight I decided to stop and have a beer ($4.75) and get dinner for two to go. I got the shrimp [and pork] dumplings (ten for $9), cold chicken noodle salad ($10), and salmon ($16). That and a beer was $43+. With tip...$50.

I've reviewed the dumplings in an earlier review, and they were just the same.

The cold noodle salad was a small portion for $10. The noodles seemed like they might be homemade, and the dressing was a peanut butter based sauce. There was chicken and noodles and peanut butter. No other flavors to speak of. This was a bland, bland dish. Certainly the fresh vegetables were miniscule--simply a garnish, but no base at all. Salad, no. Noodles, yes.

The salmon was covered in a thick, sweet, brown sauce. I think it was supposed to be a black bean sauce. It was fine with the salmon, but on its own, with the few pieces of asparagus it was cloying and thick and didn't have a pleasant flavor.

I wasn't going to tell my husband how much I spent, but he asked. When I told him he exclaimed, "That SUCKED!" He agreed for the price we paid it was definitely *not* worth it. Maybe for $22, but not for double that.

I won't be getting food from here again.

Great view and good entertainment. Went on Saturday night and a jazz band was playing which was nice to have in the background while enjoying food!

The organic spring mix salad is great appetizer to start with. Light & fresh.

I ordered a hunan chicken dish the last time I was there, but it was much better than this time...must be a hit or miss I suppose. Perhaps it's better to ask them to make it a little crispy because it wasn't the best at all last night.

The service is a little slow on both occasions I've been there. I'd come here again though.

Add "BISTRO" to your name and you can charge more for less, mediocre food.  Seriously, I will never come back here.  $55 gets you:

    -tiny chicken eggrolls
-appetizer sampler---no flavor, and possibly from costco just all fried up
    -walnut prawns---too much sauce
    -chow mein--just OK
    ----slow serice.

    MEH is right.  Sorry friends...

Have heard good things about this place from family and friends so I decided to try it for myself.

We had the lettuce cups, egg drop soup, hong kong style chow mein, sticky friend rice & the flounder. Everything was seasoned and cooked well, the favors were amazing.  Flounder = A+++!  Found out the owner also owns J's Garden in Vallejo! Major plus since I love J's Garden too. LOL

The food here is a lil pricier (prob because of the location and rent for this business park). There is also a bar and outside patio.

    Will definitely be back!

I love this restaurant. It's quiet and has wonderful food and excellent service. It's in a business park, but once you're inside it's got a big wraparound window that looks out onto the hills and a waterway that has a (large) fountain.

I have to admit that I've been here only twice and both times got the same thing: the combination chow mein and the combo fried rice. Both are delicious. My mom and I come here and order this and share and we still have leftovers.

I wouldn't say it compares to the great Chinese restaurants in SF, but I think it's about the best Chinese food I've had in the area.
The bar area is always popular and seems like a local's hangout. The bartender seems really personable and people seem to like her.

It was a Wednesday night and they were fairly busy.  Strange location--but it seems to work fine for them.  It was clean and comfortable.

Food:  We started with pot stickers, which were very good.  Our water was good.....

TOFU WAS HORRIBLE.  I feel bad for people who have never had tofu before and then tried this stuff.  I don't know what the heck they did to it to make it so bad!!!!!!  It was supposed to be lightly pan fried with vegetables.  Sounds good, right?
I sent it back to the kitchen and asked if there was a different way it could be prepared.  (I NEVER do this--swear on my life).  The server came back and told me that they were going to fry it up a little longer.  After they "fixed" it, IT STILL TASTED LIKE A SPONGE.  It was so weird.

When I was waiting for my food to come out for the second time, I tried my boyfriend's food.  His sauce had a nice flavor, but it was kind of dry inside.  Also, a couple bites were crispy on the outside, a couple were soggy.  I said, "At least your beef is OK."  He said, "It's pork."

    Yeah.

    "Uh. Babe? Where are we?"

    The Ambiance:
This restaurant's facade is very misleading.  The office park exterior leads to a clean and classy designed restaurant with wrap around windows that look out on quintessential California rolling hills.

    The Service:
Because it was Sunday (which means football is a must), we sat at the bar with Alecia as our server/bartender.  She was very sweet and accommodating.  We felt very safe trusting her with the bfs severe eating allergies because her mom has the same seafood allergy!  Alecia made us feel very at home and was simply a delight.

    The Food:

Chicken Spring Rolls: These were much better than your typical greasy spoon spring rolls.  To start off they were much thinner and contained almost exclusively minced chicken (no cabbage filler here!)  The filling at a distinctly Chinese flavor that reminded me of home (white pepper?  Chinese 5 spice?  Anyway...)

Seafood Mi-Fun: Obviously not for the bf, but I scarfed this down like nobody's business.  Fresh and high quality ingredients, well balanced flavor, lots of seafood, and a generous portion for $10!

We we only stopping in for a bite and a bit of the game but we will be back!  Maybe for the live music offered on Saturdays!

I went here  for lunch on a weekday with my madre and her friend. It was kinda busy, there were a lot of business people dining during that time. The decor is nice, right when you walk in, you'll see a waterfall wall, fancy huh? The menu is made of cardboard or some kind of special construction paper. They categorize their menu from seafood to noodles and chicken to steak, they didn't have many selections that suited my taste, and I'm asian.

I ordered the chow fun dish because it consisted of shrimp, chicken, beef, and some veggies, which sounded good for $10, not bad because everything else was in the $12-20 range. It was quite delish, but kinda oily and a lot of bean sprouts o___O. It was a big serving, I ate half and took the rest home. I wanted to order some fried wonton with the cream cheese but I wasn't going to bust out $7-8 for a only a few. Service was good, employees are nice and helpful. This place is like a fancy Americanized-chinese restaurant. I would come here again, if somebody invited me or my mom wants to come back.

Overpriced Chinese food on pretty plates.

Started off with two specials of the day:  tofu fries and popcorn chicken

-Tofu fries: sticks of tofu lightly battered and fried with three different dipping sauces. Lightly crisp, silky but firm tofu, yummy dipping sauces!

-Popcorn chicken:  did not look like popcorn chicken; looked more like popcorn chicken feet!  Scary looking.  It was basically fried chicken with a curry flavored slaw to accompany it.  Weird dish, didn't like.

Also added the Shiitake stuffed mushrooms:  delicious mushrooms stuffed with shrimp.  Better than your average stuffed mushroom.

Main dishes:  shrimp chow mein, chicken chow fun, and pineapple walnut prawns.

-Shrimp chow mein:  your typical chow mein, nothing special.

-Chicken chow fun:  I usually enjoy chow fun, but this dish was overly salty and had no real flavor.

-Pineapple walnut prawns:  too much batter!  I bit into one and all I got was thick dough- almost as if I was eating a shrimp flavored donut!

Unfortunately, with Fairfield's lack of eateries, my family and I consistently go here because it's probably the best we can do without having to drive 40+ minutes away.

On the flip side, the view of the water is nice and relaxing.  Guess that's what I'm paying for!

Instead of it being named "Sticky Rice", it should be called Sticky DooDoo. The Chow Fun gave me middle-of-the-night diarrhea as well as the following morning.

Ok, I gotta be honest, when my best friend suggested we meet up at this restaurant for lunch I kind of hesitated...Maybe because of my first experience (which is a long story) but to make the story short, it was humiliating and it was a misunderstanding.

A group of friends and I were accused of not paying a bill which came down to the manager and two waiters coming after us at the entrance/exit door. Wow! That was so embarassing! But luckily, the manager was understanding and kept the whole scene under control.

So, to go back to my hesitation of not wanting to return to this restaurant, at least now you can understand why. Although I hesitated, doesn't mean I didn't like this restaurant. I accepted my best friend's suggestion that afternoon, and we met up at Sticky Rice. I'm so glad I did. It was a friday @ 1pm when we got there. There wasn't a lot of people for lunch or maybe the crowd lessened by that time; not really sure. To sum up the decor and feel of the restaurant in two words, CLEAN and BRIGHT. They have large windows throughout the restaurant overlooking the grassy plains of Green Valley. We were led outside by our hostess but decided to eat inside because it was too hot that day.

My best friend and I looked over the menu for about five minutes and while we were trying to decide, we were greeted by our friendly waiter. We asked for suggestions and specialties and he gave us honest opinions of the food. So we decided on the following:

**Appetizers: Green Papaya Salad and the Hot and Sour Soup

Both appetizers, were delicious. The green papaya salad consisted of shaved papaya, jicama, and carrots tossed in a chili-lime dressing and topped with chopped walnuts. The hot and sour soup wasn't hot at all (pretty disappointing, since I like spice in my soup). I really liked the bamboo shoots, tufu and mushrooms along with a little bit of pork in the soup which gave it a more hearty texture.

**Main Dish: Mango Prawns and Stuffed Japanese Eggplant

The mango prawns were delish! I got to try a few from my friends' plate and I love the mango sauce that topped the prawns! Not too sweet but just right.

The Japanese eggplant stuffed with prawns in spicy garlic sauce was my main dish, and I could not be any happier. I love eggplants. I don't know why but the texture of cooked eggplant does not bother me. The prawns went well with the eggplant and the spicy garlic sauce was very yummy! My friend also enjoyed my dish.

As we enjoyed our food and reminisced about past times, our waiters, (yes there were two now) kept coming by and asking us if the food was fine and if we needed anything else. Yes, it's a sure way to getting a good tip but it was starting to get annoying because my friend finally said that we were fine in a somewhat non-friendly way..which finally got the waiters attention.

Overall experience was very nice! The cost for the whole meal was $60.13. Not bad for a nice casual restaurant with great food and a bright atmosphere and very attentive waiters!

HERE IS A PLACE I FINALLY I FINALLY DONT MIND PAYING FOR.
Me and the hubby bring alot of our friends/family here and don't have an issue with taking care of the bill. The food is amazing, it really is yummy and for the most part cooked fresh. There's so much on the menu we've tried and all of it is amazing. If Sticky Rice were closer to where we are living we would go more often.

The ambiance and general atmosphere is very nice as well. It's trendy and chic, the place is designed elegantly without being stifling. It's a nice place to have an intimate dinner with family and friends but you don't have to feel bad for bringing kids or having a loud group. It's a great time, and this place can get crowded because of it nice bar so make reservations. Save room for dessert because the fried ice cream is insanely good. LOVE THIS PLACE!

Definitely worth trying even if your not hugely crazy on Chinese food. It's a pretty nice twist to the Chinese-American fusion. I would choose to eat here over PF CHANGS or its competitors any day.

What?!?!? This place is way over rated!!! Anyone who's rated this place more then 2 1/2 at most 3 stars is NUTS!!!
I came with my 7 year old son and husband. We ordered the shirmp dumplings, ribeye, chow fun, spicy tofu, spicy scallops and of course the "famous" sticky rice w/ mango (rolling eyes "whatever"). Ok, now where should I start?

When the shrimp dumplings came out my sons' first expression was, "Mommy, what is that? That's not shirmp dumplings they're green!". So they didn't win me over with their green dumpling presentation. They were also dry and small for the $10 price tag attach to it, Icky!!

Our ribeye, I'm not going to beat around the bush about this one. We ordered it to be cook medium. It came out no where near pink and warm in the center. Instead they gave it to us light brown and COLD!!!!! As if it was straight out of the freezer and placed on into the grill to be cooked. I highly doubt they even tried to thaw it out.

The tofu and chow fun were OK and I'm going to leave it as is (you're welcome sticky rice for me not insulting your chow fun and tofu).

Now on to the dessert, vanilla ice cream and sticky rice w/ mango. The ice cream they use (I swear up and down) was Breyers!!! On top of that if you had good quality ice cream you would know that there is not suppose to be ice chips in it! The sticky rice w/ mango was TERRIBLE. It looked like rice soup with a swirl of sweet ketchup on top.. Ewww x1000! This is my favorite dessert ever and it's pretty hard to mess up. And they totally messed it up!

I forgot to mention that we also ordered white and brown rice which, was cooked right. But, come to think of it if you own a "Chinese" restaurant and can't cook rice then please shut down!

The service from the host and waiter was good (thus, the reason of the 1 star). Although we did tell our waiter about the poorly cooked meat and he said that he'll tell the kitchen. We were not expecting a free meal but, a sorry from a kitchen staff member, owner  or manager would have been nice.

So, I started writing this review while sitting in the restaurant disgusted with my dessert. Now a hour or so has passed and I've vomited, have stomach cramps, a headache, still dry heaving and very nauseous at home in my bed needing to go to sleep for work at 4am. This result should have taken the 1 star I gave away. But, since the water was also good I think I'll let them have it.

    Conclusion:
If you like their food kudos for them! But, this is to me a wannabe Chinese restaurant that doesn't handle their food properly.

When I used to attend Solano I was apart of an eight hour biological lab.  We were granted an hour for our lunch break so my lab partners and I had the opportunity to eat at all the restaurants within a ten minute driving distance.

If you are from the area, you're sure to know that the atmosphere is more business driven since the location is in the middle of a corporate district.   Of all the restaurants with the shopping center and little complex that it's located in, Sticky Rice has the ambiance of a upscale Chinese restaurant that serves fusion food.  Sometimes it almost feels like you're having lunch in Napa because of the beautiful scenery in the back.

The food is alright.  Expensive, yes... quality, not as great as I had hoped it to be.  They've got a lunch menu that is almost similar to the dinner menu but a bit smaller portion and cheaper (I prefer going during lunch hours).  The waiters and waitresses are always sweet - I have no complaints on their service.

    Atmosphere - Very nice
    Attitude - Very nice

    Price - I don't think so

    Food - Meh

Ok, here's why.  First of all, it's very convenient, very clean and staff was nice and attentive.

But the food was just.....bleh.  Not exciting, no imagination, just uninspired.  And overpriced for the serving sizes.  Tried it twice, one time too many sorry to say.

For Fairfield this is a classy Chinese/Bistro foodery- fusion, spot.  Altough it's set in a virtual higher end strip mall once you step inside you will be pleased with the well above average atmophere.

I proudly accompanied the super vegan Bonnie M. and we started out sharing the mixed green salad with soy vinaigrette. The large portion came served with cherry tomatoes, apples, and pecans. Very fresh greens pre-mixed with just the right amount of tasty dressing. Lunch also comes with soup of the day which was egg drop soup.  Since Bonnie M. is vegan, I got to eat hers.  It was an average cup or should I say two cupps of egg drop soup.

Bonnie ate the tofu with mixed vegetables.  She thought that the dish was absolutely delish!  Very fresh with a great tasting sauce that was just a little sweet, a little spicy with excellent consistency.  I partook in the pork, which was essentially sweet and sour pork.  It was also above average in quality and taste.

Anyone who has ever spent any time in Fairfield will tell you that there are very few high quality places to eat.  Well let me tell you this is one place that is well worth your time and money, even if it wasn't in Fairfield.

Just to note, service was adequate.  Fairly quick yet unremarkable.

What Mike Z. lacks in matchmaking skills he for sure makes up for in restaurant recommendations. Forget the fact that Mike Z. and I have never met or that I would not hesitate to sell my soul to the devil for a consistently good piece of ass, if you ever find yourself in Fairfield craving a respectable meal, the Sticky is the place to go.

For all the foodies out there who claim to know where to find the most, "authentic," Chinese food, let's just remember that Bistro comes before Chinese in the name of this particular restaurant? So think a little fusion, some creativity, open your mind, and chill the hell out.

I dragged Scott A. along with me and we started out sharing the mixed green salad with soy vinaigrette. The large portion came served with cherry tomatoes, apples, and pecans. Very fresh greens pre-mixed with just the right amount of tasty dressing. Lunch also comes with soup of the day which I could not partake in because it was not vegan but Scott A. hates to see anything go to waste so he ate mine and gave his approval.

I decided on the tofu with mixed vegetables for my main course. Let me tell you, this was no mass produced PF Chang's dish. The bok choy, zucchini, celery, green beans, snow peas, and carrots were cooked perfectly. The large chunks of tofu were crispy on the outside but not so overcooked as they were easily sliced with the side of your fork. Chewy on the inside and the tofu had soaked up some of the best sauce I've ever tasted. A little sweet, a little spicy, excellent consistency. Brown rice people, need I say more?

Score 1 for Mike Z.-the Sticky is a keeper. Now if he just had some good recommendations for a decent happy ending.....

I work just down the street from here, and let me tell you that this part of the world is a complete gastronomical wasteland.  The next best place around here is the Applebee's or maybe the Costco lunch counter.  So maybe I am just so happy to have someplace edible to go to near my office.  I used to work in SF right down the street from Boulevard, Ozumo, Chaya, etc., so you can see how deprived I am feeling.

Anyway, I eat here at least once, maybe twice a week.  Very nice atmosphere, nice people, excellent waitstaff, great food.  They have brown rice, which I am very psyched about.  Sometimes I come in with my work buddies and we sit at the bar.  Everything is good.  The Hot and Sour Soup is awesome and sometimes I eat just that  for lunch and leave stuffed.  As an added bonus there are a couple of very cute female server-persons there who are fun to flirt with.

I love you Miss Sticky.  Please don't ever leave me and force me to be with that skanky bitch Applebee's.
