I love the Strikes in Elk Grove, so I thought this would be similar.

Honestly, this place is filled with annoying teenagers. Even at the front counter, the guy seemed a little immature. Not rude or anything, just immature.

The shoes here seem to run about half a size larger than usual, but I was too lazy to get another pair so I just wore them. The shoes I had looked like a dog's old chew toy. No. A bear's old chew toy. When shoes get to the point where half the color part is ripping and peeling off, and the canvas layers are exposed, it's time to buy new shoes.

This place wasn't the best. I'm never in this area anyways, so I'm not sure if I'd ever come back.

So where to start with this place.  So I decided to take that family hear after I heard about his place on groupon.  (Didnt purchase groupon)

First impression, look really cool as we walked in.  Has a decent size arcade.

So we get up to there center to purchase game, first thing I notice is employees standing around talking with each others working as they see fit.  The line was farely long.  Another customer and I were actually talking to each asking if they notice us standing there.  I finally get to the counter and I tell the guy we have never been here and had no idea of what to expect.  I pretty much got the are you stupid look.  I told him how many people were in our group which was 3 adults and 3 kids.  He told me the prices and that was the end of it.  I was instructed that I had to pay for my toddler, didnt understand at first but I did.  I paid for him and rented shoes, turns out they dont even have shoes in his size.  Guess it was just easier to take my money first then have to refund me for it, then take a little extra effort and help a guest out

So then we finally get set up and we go play our game.  We did have a lot of fun playing the game.  First problem came when a employee came up and took one of are kid balls, because someone else needed one and they had no more.  Didnt even ask he just pretty much took it.  So we continue to play on when my wife realizes that my kids are leaning against a wall that looked like it had chew spit all over it.

So we finish our game and decided to move our fun to the arcade.  I bought some tokens not realizing that a majority of the games you have to have a card instead of tokens. Even though they all have token slots.   After realizing this, we were speaking with what seem to be a manager or maybe a game mechanic because that is what he was doing.  Long story short I asked him what I needed to do to get the tokens I bought on the card or how I can exchange them out.  He informed me that there is a sign on the token machine and that they dont exchange them and that I was stuck with them.  I told him that obviously didnt see the sign and I needed to do something because these tokens were no good to me.  He told me he wouldnt do anything.  It wasnt that until I said your ripping me off and its not right.  He slammed the game door shut and mumbled some stuff and walked over to the game counter after making some faces.  I finally had enough of being treated like I was putting people out of there way and lost my cool and said something that I am not proud of as slamming the  tokens on the counter and telling him to keep them and walked out.

Over all this place lacks professionalizm and customer service skills.  I spent a decent bit of money and really feel like I got treated like garbage.  If this is how people get treated on a regular basis, I am curious how long it will last.  We will not go back to this place.  Maybe we will check out the other location.  Who knows maybe the employees actually care about there jobs and the people who come in to pay there paychecks.

We had a groupon coupon for $25 we had 2 hrs of bowling for 6, a lg pizza and 2 pitchers of soda. We had a wonderful time and the employees were helpful and nice. We went on a Friday at lunch and it was very crowded. Some of the lighter bowling balls were hard to find since there were tons of kids. But we had a great time!

HORRIBLE customer service. I came in with a group of 16 for a work event. Being in the customer service industry myself, I was pretty surprised by our interactions:

-I had put in reservation with party planner, who told me that all of our information would be left at front desk since we were a larger party. When I checked in at the front desk, he said "well they never told me."

-Front desk clerk interrupted a customer interaction he was already having to (not) help someone in my party.

-There was no music in lobby, which in theory is not anything worth mentioning. But when we asked the front desk, the response given was "what, it's not on?" No music was ever turned on.

    - When asked to exchange shoe size, was given grief. Apparently shoes run large here, take note.

-Their party planner sent me a corporate menu on a Monday, and I sent my order back the same day. At 4:00 pm on Tuesday, she told me I couldn't order certain item for a Wednesday party.

Definitely not somewhere I would use again.

Went to Strikes on a Saturday afternoon with a Groupon coupon.  What a great deal!  2 hours of bowling, pizza & soda.  We will go back.

I love going bowling here! Grab a beer and bowl your little heart out. This is a really nice alley and super clean- not run down like a lot of the places I've been to. Has a great arcade area and pizza place inside- it's HUGE and definitely where you need to be if you're in the mood to bowl!

It's a bowling alley. It is clean and newer. The bar is good but overpriced a bit. One reason I scored so high is because the bar had live music every weekend and though it's not very good music, we need more of that. Keep it up!

I have tried to go bowling their three times with my kids and family. They don't take reservations, you cannot call ahead, and they have wait times from 45 min, 1.5 hours and 2 hours.  My 8,6, and 3 year old just wont survive that long. I want them to be able to learn bowling but I guess it won't happen there.

Fairly nice bowling place.  Very crowded.  The prices are a bit steep at $4/person per game, and $3.00 for shoes.    Okay deal with the B1G1 Free coupon in the Entertainment book.  Quality lanes and no issues with the equipment though.

This place is great! They have all elements you need for family fun. The kids can go play in the arcade while the adults enjoy a cocktail in the bar. Everything is so close together that you can still keep an eye on your children without them getting out of range.  The blowing alley is awesome too; lots of lanes, and very clean. The service is wonderful, and very friendly. Naturally it can get expensive after a while but it's nothing over the top.

I've been to a few bowling alleys and I dare say this one so far IS as good as it gets.  I had to drive a little to get there because it is completely out of my way but when I got there I realized it was totally worth it.

It is really clean, there are many lanes and the food is not fabulous but it is edible.  Their arcade is pretty good too. Actually it is much better than many places.

I took my kids here and I thought it was pretty cool that you can set it up so that the bumpers come up for only selected people within the same game and that they have a ramp for disabled children ONLY to use that can't be hogged by parents that have tiny kids trying to bowl.

The people working there the day I went were not all smiles and sweetness but I really didn't care because it was not like I would be playing with them.

Like I said before... this bowling alley is definitely worth the drive for me.

The lanes are ok, but there isn't a lot of room around the ball return, kind of crowded for those that do a longer run up.  And the shoes - ok this is my 3rd (and final) visit to this place.  I ended up with a sore on my foot the first time I went there and it's because the shoe had a crack in the top and the plastic or material dug into my foot.  I reported it, and reported it a second time because I got the same DAMN shoes, and the third time I just wore my sneakers (if you can't take care of your equipment and area, why should I?), played my 2 games and decided not to go back.

They are also more expensive than some of the other lanes in the area.

Pizza is bloody awful - avoid at all costs.  Head up the hill to Auburn, or into Sacramento.  There are better lanes around.

THIS REVIEW IS ONLY FOR THE ARCADE AREA!

Super clean, easy to use coin/player card system! reasonable rates on playing any games. all are up to date and there is a nice attendant to help you with any questions or concerns. very family oriented, but you can also walk into the bar that is connected. they showed super drink and food deals during happy hour, and also had a live band that night! i would come back!

STREET FIGHTER MACHINE IN THE BACK IS LEGIT! LETS YOU PLAY ANY OF THE GENRES FOR 50CENTS A GAME!!!! ALL THE BUTTONS AND CONTROLS WORK...VERY NICE!

I love this place. The only semi-negative things I could say is that on a Friday and Saturday night it is sort of pricey for bowling. But you you get what you pay for, this place is really nice. I love to hang out at half time, the sports bar. They have really good happy hour specials (although some of them are not posted, so make sure you ask). On Tuesday nights, they have free trivia night which is really fun. The Monday night bartender is hilarious and has customer serer vice, so its fun to watch Monday night football there.  AND... on the weekends, they have great live music and there usually is a good crowd. If you live local, and are looking for somewhere fun to go, there is almost always something cool going on at Strikes. I didn't even touch on the arcade or laser tag.

A great place to do a bit of late-night bowling. There's also an adjoining bar with a menu and pool tables and an arcade across from it.

I've been here a few times and always had a really good time. The staff is great and the lanes were quality.  My shoes were old though and kind of falling apart...new shoes and I would have given this place 5 stars.

Went there because my sister and her husband had a coupon. First, the employee told us it was not valid because of the new ownership. So I dinged one star there...but we did end up getting it honored because my brother in law had to call for a manager. Really? He shouldn't have had to do that to use a valid coupon! The manager was pretty rude about it, but he reluctantly let us use it and because it was late-afternoon, early evening, we were able to bowl for $4/game.  The place was super clean and HUGE! It was pretty nice. The lanes were great and the bowling balls were not all dinged up.  Overall, a great bowling experience.

Most of the bowling alleys in the Sac area seem to feel dingy.
Not Strikes, this place is awesome and clean.
Nice layout, plus a legit restaurant/sportsbar, not just some snackbar with nachos and dried up hot dogs.
This is a great, flexible place to bring the family and kids, or get a group of friends together for bowling and boozin'
fun will be had by all!

Not a pro bowler for sure but had a hell of a good time. Heavy bowling balls+slippery lanes+alcohol+fun music=great night. Beats going to a crowded club. It is actually really clean and not covered in pizza grease, empty cups, and piles of stinky shoes. People and staff are really nice and it isn't crazy crowded. I see a lot of kids having a great time also but, being a adult so can you lol. You have to order a pizza and a ton of beers to make it more special.

I'm always a fan of bowling!! This place is clean, not like your average bowling ally. It's a great place for a group of friends to get together have a few beers and bowl. Prices aren't  too outrageous. It's also a great place after school for kids to get together and have fun with their friends. I've hosted plenty of play dates here as a nanny and they have been very successful. I'll come back and host plenty of play dates and get togethers here!!!

Took the family there.  A little on the pricy side but the kiddos could have not had a better time.  Service was also fantastic;  from our group, there were several visits to the front desk to get new shoes, change the bumper settings, etc.  They were terrific in accommodating.

The food was also tastier than expected for a bowling place.  .  Pricing was good and they quickly brought the food right to our table/lane.

Don't forget the beer!  Great specials on beer, depending on when you were there.  For us, there was some college football on TV - that made for cheap pitchers of Coors light!

Choachs bar on wednesday has live band live band karaoke, and i am no karaoke-ier the band know over 200 songs! very impressive :)
I docked Strikes one star for their high prices to bowl!!! I am truely investing in my own ball and shoes cause their prices are a little high.

I was invited here on a random Sunday during labor day weekend and as expected, it was dead.  Well, dead for this place apparently.  We were told by the Rosevillians that this place usually had a 1-2 hour wait on a Friday night?!  Like some of the reviewers said, the lighter balls all have mini finger holes, of which my feminine tapered fingers fit just fine.  I'm guessing if you're a 6'0+ man with huge man hands you probably won't be needing the 6 pound ball.

On that note, I had a blast here, but we encountered a series of minor problems that would've pissed me off if I cared.  Bowling was fine, we had a problem with the pins not clearing, but it was taken care of quickly.  Glo-bowling started after 10 and it really made the alley seem a lot more fun.

There are two bars here and a connecting restaurant.  The food here is your basic American grease crap, but I was surprised at the pizza.  We had a Zebra Stripe which is veggie, and it was tasty (for a bowling alley).  It wasn't greasy at all, the crust tasted fresh,  but it didn't have the spinach on it as advertised.  But for pizza in a bowling alley it was really good.

What irritated me the most was the connecting arcade.  There was a huge plethora of games, my favorite being DDR (I'm asian and have very fond memories of this game, judge if you must).  There is also a "How hard can you punch this bag to impress your girlfriend/upstage your friend" game, basketball shooting game, motorcycle racing, shooting, air hockey.  But you have to get a game card to play, and the games ate about $5 of our $20 card.

Overall:  Cleaner and newer than most bowling alleys around, in the middle of Rocklin, eats your money, but fun with decent food.

I expected to hate this place per its Rocklin location. I thought it would be overpriced and full of annoying upper-middle class teens, but it wasn't at all.

After dinner, my friends and I ended up here just before 10 p.m. on a Saturday night. When my friend inquired about the odd brightness of the bowling alley, we were told glow bowling started at 10 p.m., in just a few minutes. Sweet.

It cost $10 a person for shoes and two games, not bad at all.

Instead of benches, you sit at a table with chairs, which is horribly awkward. The tables are really close together and if you're at the back of the table, it's hard to move past everyone when it's your turn to bowl. This is my biggest complaint with this place. The table set up was just stupid.

Also, instead of having TVs to watch while you bowl, the TVs are placed at the back of the tables, so you can only watch them in between turns, if you sit at the end of your table. Kind of lame.

As someone not into the latest top 40 pop garbage, I thought the music blew, but my friends enjoyed it. The DJ would not play any of our requests, though.

Our lane was messed up when we started, but once they fixed it, bowling went smoothly for our two games.

Finding a good ball proved really difficult for me and others. I have pretty small fingers, but all of the balls under 10 pounds had child-size finger holes. And most of the balls weren't marked for size.

I brought my own socks, but if you buy the $2 socks here, you get really cute ankle socks with bowling balls and pins on them. Much better deal than other alleys that charge $4 for a pair of plain white socks out of a vending machine. (My friends and I have a tendency to end up at a bowling lane after dinner, totally unplanned, so everyone is in heels or flip flops, sans socks.)

The lounge is a huge joke. They wanted a $5 cover fee just to enter it; some really awful 80s cover band was playing. Really awful.

The bathroom was super clean, as was the entire bowling alley. Overall, it was fine and falls in the middle of overall quality compared to other Sac area lanes.

Came here for happy hour one day and it was pretty good. The waitress was atrractive but didn't know the beers available on tap. The wings were good, but only came in 3 flavors. The tacos I didn't have.

I wanted some stout but only had Guinness and another beer that was very light in flavor, so had to stick with Blue Moon.

Enjoyed the nice big area and the big large screen TVs.

Havent bowled there, but I do go to be a child and yell at the TV's in the sports bar during Sunday NFL.  I really like the place.  Good food, great service, decent prices. Plenty of TV's (there are only 2 bad spots to sit in the entire place and if you show up at noon on sunday, you will be there.
I do like imbibing and bowling so I am sure I will tackle that one day.  THey have great happy hours. but they have to.  The place is huge and can be sterile and empty at certain times.  But since they have good food and great service, I will keep going there.

I am not a fan of bowling... Let me repeat. I am not a fan of bowling!  But, this is not a review on bowling, but a bowling establishment. I attended a birthday celebration for one of sister's friends this past weekend, and I must say this place ain't too bad. Though, my experience might have been a special case since the celebration was held in a private room with four alleys, a pool table and a comfortable lounging area. (to patiently wait your turn to bowl.)

I know Strikes has the reputation of being a "high-end" bowling facility, so I expected a few things:
    1) a clean facility
    2) friendly personnel
    3) good food
    4) fun atmosphere

So how did this place rate?
    1) Clean floors, polished alley's, no stinky feet smell... All good things. The bathrooms could use some attention though.
    2) Though the gents handing out the hot neon-colored shoes, were your every-day alley-worker. (bored, not the slightest bit friendly, and obviously hating life), the waitress dedicated to serving the party patrons was friendly and attentive.
    3) Those chicken egg roll appetizers were amazing. Flavorful, crunchy, a bit spicy, but oh-so-good! Im not gonna lie. I might have had more than 4 pieces. =) I'm not a fan of buffalo wings, but word on the street is thy are quite nummy too.
    4) The sights and sounds of the electronically generated laughter and pitter-patter of neon-clad feet. Ahh, yes and who could forget the rolling, pounding, clashing sound of thunder in the numerous alleys. This is a bowling ally after all.

Though bowling has to be one of the last things on my "Things I Love Doing" list, my experience at Strikes- Rocklin, CA was A-OK because of the fore mentioned.

CAN I GIVE IT ZERO STARS?
My husband bought me a $40 gift card for this place and when we went to use it they told us that it only had $15 on it!!!! The manager was a completely rude young kid who had exactly ZERO customer service skills. They completely ripped us off of $25 and did not care about it one bit. Make sure to get a receipt if you buy a gift card. It was 8:00 on a Friday night and there were two tables of people eating - us and a table of four teenagers sharing a basket of fries. Tell you anything? KEEP AWAY. Our server was a delightful young lady and my advice to her is to get another job somewhere better. The food and drinks were average. We will never return and you should not either.

Holy Moly!  Does it really cost $80 to bowl three games on a Friday night?  Oh wait, that doesn't include the beer.

    Hmm.

Aside from the price of things around there, Strikes was a pretty rockin' good time on a Friday night.  Went there with another couple of similar age (late 20s/early 30s) and we totally enjoyed ourselves!  Although there was a DJ, and blacklights, and multiple people playing who clearly had pre-midnight curfews, the vibe was great, the service was pretty good (beer service at your lane), and the bowling was just some good old fashioned fun.

It's kind of a drive from Sacramento, but definitely a step above Country Club Lanes if you are looking to "class up" your bowling adventures.

Ugh, really? Do we HAVE to go to strikes?

That's more or less how I feel about the place where bowling costs a fortune just because it's flashy and packed with locals that have nothing better to do. I avoid this place like the Black DEATH on weekends because I think I would rather die in abject misery than experience the suburban-spanned hell this place has wrought on the world!

That being said, there are few redeeming features to this overpriced hybrid bowling, arcade, bar, laser tag, pool, and other etc. I'll grant them this at least; it seems like a brilliant idea and the actual experience itself isn't bad at all but there are some major downfalls that make this place suck 3/5 times I show up.

First of all is the price. If you want to bowl go to Rocklin AMF. If you like flashy lights and paying too much for crappy service and horrific waits on the weekend then look no further! During week nights the price goes down and so does the crowd. If you want to try this place come then... just not on the weekends.

The service sucks, there is however a full bar to assuage your pent up anger and funnel it into a unhealthy booze-filled channel. God...

Its good and bad. The good: the bowling lanes and arcades are all very new and clean. LCD screen everywhere and the bar is decent. The bad: pricey for bowling and customer service isn't the best. You also do have to wear wristbands and the number of bowling ball selection avaliable is also poor.

Come here to drink first before you bowl - then you'll have much more fun!

Holy crap! Had to go glow bowling for my brother's birthday. This place is on the edge of the planet and the parking lot was full of pickups. For city folk, that is bad sign number one.

The bowling alley has a nightclub in it and we had to get id-ed and wear wristbands in order to drink, because the cops come by every hour according to our cocktailer. bad sign number two.

There was a bunch of kids in ill fitting formal wear. Maybe having prom in the bowling alley? bad sign number three.

On the plus side, they make really strong drinks, showed the uncut version of Making of Duran Duran's Girls On Film and I bowled my best game ever in glow in the dark shoes.

Guess I learned don't go back to Rocklin.

I went with a large group, during the holiday week (thu). We ate in the restaurant while we waited for lanes. This place is HUGE! and very family friendly - large arcade, tons of lanes, resturant, bar. (SS - you are right on with the chucky cheese commment...)

It was incredibly busy (the guy at the bowling registration desk said the leaguers showed up even though they were supposed to take the week off and screwed everything up). The food in the restaurant was not the worst I've ever had, but wasn't great. (but I think it's why I was almost sick to my stomach later that night).  we were finally givien lanes after almost two hours, and were offered free shoes (only half of us needed them).

I probably would not come here again if I could avoid it. I'm giving them an extra star because they warned us that people had been waiting for lanes for three hours, AND they offered the free shoes without us asking.

Wow!  SS took the words right out of my mouth.  I almost wonder if you are someone I know and were part of my group the night I went.

We arrived around 9 pm and got our names on the list for glow bowling.  We were handed a pager and went to the bar for our hour wait.  When our pager went off we waited to pay our bill and then headed over to claim our lane.  Sure enough it was given away!  When one of the ladies in my group asked for a discount - say free shoe rentals, the guy behind the counter became a jerk!  My friend made a comment about going to Rocklin Bowl for better service and the guy told us to just go there then.

Terrible customer service and nothing notable about the bar.
