    3.5 stars

for san antonio, the boba here is some of the best (but we have very few options to choose from). the actual tapioca here is done very well, and the drinks are usually pretty good if you get the smoothie version and ask for half sugar. but the worst part is that it's also a hookah bar and even if you just want to step in and get an order to go, the smell from the other side permeates through the walls. prices here are also pretty absurd, but again, it's san antonio -- can't be too picky.

This place has a nice layout, but it's kind of not my scene.  However, because I just had THE BEST TARO BUBBLE TEA I've ever had here, I still give them 5 stars.  Their one flaw (for me, maybe benefit for others) is they are on the complete opposite end of town! :(  Regardless, if I am in the area, I WILL stop by.  I read Jai J.'s review about how they use fresh taro as an alternative to the powder, which I thought was awesome, but I forgot to ask.
The place has a really cool logo, this panda face (with a cheshire cat smile), so I bought a bumper sticker for my brother because he happens to have an obsession with pandas.  Also, because of the hooka bar, this place smells pretty amazing.  The smells of people smoking whatever fruit or fruit tabacco that they smoke, I'm not really even sure, but it smells really, really good.
I only wish there was another... closer to my end of town.

I am always in the mood for some good bubble tea in a hot summer day. I stopped by SISA for the first time and got an almond bubble tea.

Several reviewers were saying their drink was a little sweet so I told them not to make my tea too sweet. As a result, my almond bubble tea was lack of flavor and very watery. The only good thing was the bubbles which were very chewy and cooked just right.

The store looks like a place for college kids to hang out. Not my thing. Wish San Antonio had Austin's coco's cafe. Coco's bubble tea is always legit. Sorry, I won't be returning. Yea, you can suck it SISA! BTW, pandas don't grin like that. Kinda creepy. Just saying!

Pros: The bubble teas are excellent. Decent amount of space to relax and hangout or study. Good prices.
Cons: The internet is slow when several users are on the network.

This is one of the two best bubble tea houses in San Antonio, the other being Bubblehead in Southtown. I tried the orange-vanilla with mango jellies and my girlfriend had the strawberry-almond with strawberry jellies. Both were excellent. I highly recommend Suck It's bubble teas. If you are hanging out and so inclined, Suck It offers hookah in many flavors.

The tables are large enough to allow for study space. To the best of my knowledge, there was only one couch, so if you will be lounging around with friends, you might have to settle for tables and chairs.

There are multiple TVs, which I loved. I could carry on a conversation and still glance up and catch up on the latest scores on ESPN.

I would have give this place a full five stars and I would really have been a regular here if the internet were not so slow at times. When there are multiple users online, the network slows down, make it close to impossible to check email or get work done. Please invest in a better router and faster internet rather than opening another location, Suck It!

Best bubble tea place in San Antonio, hands down!!! They make everything as you order it and if you are in a rush, they will even take call in orders and have it ready for you!

Sometimes I don't have time to eat a meal so I call in a bubble tea with some protein powder and I'm good to go!

I'll summarize first: if you're deciding between Bubblehead and Suck It San Antonio, do you yourself a favor and choose Suck It.

I like to periodically consult Yelp for any new boba places that may have sprouted up in San Antonio and I came across this place. It seems to have been around for a couple years now, but based on the Yelp reviews, I chose to try out Bubblehead over Suck It San Antonio, and boy am I sorry I did.

I've only visited this place once so far and I ordered the taro milk tea with custard pudding. The milky based consistency is spot-on and consistent with the other taro milk teas I've had in the past in Houston and Los Angeles. It doesn't taste quite like taro I'm used to having (it has an almond-flavoring background, but not sure if that's just my imagination), but I still like it and would order it again. I'll likely return to try out the other flavors :)

I do like how this place offers unique flavors and the opportunity to mix them as one pleases. The boyfriend ordered a cotton candy & vanilla smoothie + tapioca. He liked it very much and was quite impressed!

Still doesn't compare to bubble teas I've had in Houston, but definitely leagues better than the couple of other places I've tried around San Antonio.

If you have not had bubble teas outside of San Antonio, you may think this is the greatest place. But if you have, you will be disappointed. I typically like to get the classic milk tea to see if a place is good and authentic.

So I ordered a classic milk tea (black tea) and it was way weak and tasted watered down. The boba was good and soft however. The shopping center where this is located seems a little typical San Antonio run-down and there were a bunch of Asians in the parking lot checking out each other's rides.

I still think for San Antonio, Tong's Thai is better but more expensive.

Great bubble tea and a cute name. They have some pretty legit flavored bubble teas and shisha. Plus it right down the street from me :)

I usually stick to taro coconut or honeydew avocado with tapioca and lychee jellies as sinkers. This place always takes care of my bubble tea cravings.  Sometimes it gets too busy and there's nowhere to sit.

Boba here does not even compare to Houston. But then again, i'm not a huge boba fan. But the owner/manger here does not know how to run a business. He basically decides when he wants to close, you never know when you're gonna drive up to go get boba and if there will be a sign that says he wants to take a break or not. It sucks when you drive all the way there and it's closed for no legitimate reason.

Love the name..."SUCK IT SAN ANTONIO" ...cracked me up a little when I saw this on Yelp.  I also like the hours posted on the door----opening time till "whenever I get tired." Funny, but not funny if I'm craving boba and it's closed. :-p

Boba drinks here are just as pricey as Tong's Thai . I'm use to paying less than $3.  I guess there's not much competition here in SA so ......

Anways, I gotta admit the texture of tapioca balls (like Tong's) are better than most boba places here in SA---but that's still not saying much.  There are places that cook the balls in sweet syrup or sugar so it actually has a sweet taste---not at Suck It though.

My avocado smoothie---was bland, but it wasn't the worst I've had.  The iced Viet coffee w/ coffee jelly was inconsistent---first time was really good. The 2nd time tasted like it had more condensed milk than coffee.  So far...mediocre experience, but since there's not much to choose from around here, it's better than nothing.

There's a ton more flavors to choose from......better reason to come back!

    Oh yeah, they have hookah.

It looks like it's one of the few and the best tapioca place in San Antonio. I love how half of the store is the tapioca cafe and the other half is a hookah lounge. This place is a great spot to hang out with friends to relax and just enjoy some hookah with some good Boba Tea.

Probably the best boba on this side of town.
I tend to come here a lot and hangout with my friends and smoke hookah. The deals for hookah is really great depending what flavors you get.

I love the boba smoothies here! This is definitely the best place for boba in San Antonio...given, SA isn't really the hub for great boba places...

Nevertheless, I love Suck It even though the panda logo is really creepy. :P The smoothies are not too icy and the bubbles are a good firmness. Try the raspberry chocolate combo! It's soooo delicious!

    Much better than bobalicious!

AMAZING bubble tea. Ignore all the bad reviews, THIS PLACE IS AWESOME.

My personal favorite is cookie and cream with tapioca, for some reason it's not one of the options they have there but ask for it they do carry it! You won't regret it. :)

Ok... I've only had ONE bubble tea here so maybe I'm being a little bit harsh but it tasted like it was DRENCHED in sugar. I couldn't even drink it.

I got a coconut taro and the kids I babysit got mango & strawberry. I tried a sip of theirs as well and omg might as well be taking a shot of a pixie stick.

I will stick to Tong's Thai or Bobalicious.

It's finally time for me to publicly express my sincere love for Suck It. There was a point during the last academic year where I would get milk tea here AT LEAST once a week. I don't even want to think about how much money I've spent on tea here. Just talking about it makes me want to go get a drink right now!

My absolute favorite drink here is the almond milk tea with boba, but I have tried taro (my ex-favorite before almond came along) and that's a great flavor as well. I always get oolong tea, but I'm sure the jasmine is equally good; it's supposed to be more fruity in flavor, I believe, but I could be wrong. Even my boyfriend--who doesn't really like bubble tea--loves this place when we come together. He gets a combination of flavors (raspberry lemon, chocolate strawberry, etc.) in slushie form and he is always happy with his drink. Also, the boba has *always* tasted fresh in my experiences (which have been many!), and that puts it a huge step above other bubble tea places I have tried.

I can't attest to the hookah, but they have a veeery long list of flavors and a pretty cool separate room now for smokers with lounge chairs and a bunch of tables as well as games and a TV, I believe. The whole place has a very relaxed environment and the employees are always nice and helpful if you're a newbie to bubble tea drinks. They stay open quite late as well, so if you need a boba fix at one in the morning, do not fret! If I could afford (in terms of money AND calories!) to come here several times each week, I don't doubt that I would.

Best bubble tea I've found in San Antonio AND Houston!
Their tapioca is made fresh every day. Not soggy, watery or chewy like the other places around town.
I've tried many flavors: strawberry, raspberry, mango, passion fruit, coconut, almond, taro and more!
I'm excited they moved to a new suite within the strip mall. Now, the smoking section is separate from the bubble tea side. Perfect for non smokers! So I can't rate the hookah, although I see they have several brands and flavors ranging from Jack and Coke, to pineapple, white gummi bear, nectarine, funkhfunkharina (?!?!) an Ace of Spades.
They also have new drinks (see my posted photos of white board menu). I always go for the smoothie type. But I loooove café su da and I'll be back to try theirs.
Service is always fast and friendly. And who could say no to such a cute, sarcastic panda?
Cool place to chill out. They've for games. Amount of tables is lacking but I'm sure they'll get more when the construction on the place is finalized.
Stop by for a drink. The place is awesome.
Heard they might have a second spot opening up near the med center. Can't wait!

Favorite bubble tea joint in SA.

I like how Suck It adds a twist to their typical black tea milk tea. Instead they offer oolong or jasmine. Personally, oolong is my favorite! I haven't tried many of the flavored ones besides taro and it was way too sweet but they remade my drink for me which is nice. A little on the pricey side because I am used to Houston milk tea prices but hey, I get to satisfy my bubble tea craving.

As of March 2012, they are now in their new location (same shopping center, just a few doors down to the right).  Keep in mind there are two doors: the right hand side door has a seating area, the restroom, and contains the indoor area to smoke hookahs.  The left hand side door also has some chairs but is the primary area that orders are taken at.  :)

I tried this boba the other night and it was delicious, i hate it when it tastes chalky and you don't have other options besides the tapioca bubbles. This place also offers jellies, a great alternative. Not to mention the hooka suggestion was pretty cool. The owner was pretty funny when I asked if he wanted to give me a military discount but hey a girl's gotta ask. Pretty nice small space inside, and good outside area for the cool san antonio nights. I would definitely take my friends from cali to this place.

The tapioca is very good quality and the flavors are done well. I once got a bubble tea from a different place and it was almost pure syrup. Suck It knows how to make a tasty bubble tea! I'll be coming back.

As an out of towner.   I always try to find a Boba place when I am in a new city, and Suck it did NOT disappoint.   I am pretty much a tea purist, as I just like tea, boba and a little flavor.... No slushy stuff, no milk, nothing fancy.   They did a great job of having a fresh jasmine tea with just the right amount of sweet but not lacking in flavor.   I will definitely drive out of my way to get one again!!!!   Thanks gang for the perfectly cooked and sweetened boba.   Not too hard or too slimy!!!! Well worth the trip.   Now please teach the folks in Fort Worth how to make it and we will be really happy!!!!

Whenever the topic of hookah comes up in a conversation I always recommend Suck It. They have great hookah specials and amazing flavor blends you don't get from other places. The atmosphere is great its not like Shishas or Sultans its more chill. As far as the bubble tea goes I've only had it one other place and Suck It has way better bubble tea. I do think it should be blended more because I sometimes get ice chunks. I also love the flavors Vin comes up with the cotton candy is one of my favorites. Although they can be a little pricey the bubble tea is still worth it. I also have a Suck It sticker on my car to represent the best hookah place in San Antonio!

I flew into SA last week and some friends excitedly brought me here. I had their Winter melon Bubble tea and it came to me chock full of tapioca pearls which just so happens to be the way I like it! Not sure why people are complaining about the price of the tea. The sizes are huge, they have a pretty good variaty of flavors and they give you tons of bubbles. Up here in Dc you pay almost the same amount but you can consider yourself lucky if you even get half the amount of bubbles they give you here and the sizes are smaller.

My friends found out I had never tried hookah so they let me pick out which flavor to try. They had a house blend call the Kill Bill which is what we ended up having. It was so smooth, sweet and very enjoyable. If they have it the next time you go their I highly recommend trying it.

Also, remember to tip them! They do a great job of making sure their customers are comfortable, give service with a smile and rotate the coals for the hookah regularly.

After moving from Austin to SA, I was hoping to find a place for my bubble tea fix!

Price - It is expensive for what I'm used to. But honestly, all bubble tea places in SA so far, I've found, to be the same price. So I guess it's reasonable in that there's demand and little competition...? I'm not really a hookah person, so I couldn't comment on it. But it is also a hookah bar. Oh, their only size drink are larges, so I guess price is fair.

Atmosphere -  I live in the medical center, so also comparing to Bubblehead, I'd prefer to go here since it is closer. I usually go during the day so I never meet with a big crowd. The guy who runs the shop during the day is really chill and helpful! There are lots of board games too. And it's a really great place to grab a tea with friends and just hang out! It looks clean, if not a bit messy. I'm not sure how long it's been there because I just moved here... but as someone else pointed out, the mess is past the cashier area. But it looks like a project-in-progress to me. Hopefully?

Bubble tea - I usually stick to almond milk tea or a slush. And I love them both. Last time I got a green apple slush... and maybe it's me but it actually didn't taste like the fake green apple taste (which I still do like). It tasted fresh. It was really refreshing! The boba is yummy too. There are a lot of different options for flavors too.

Super chill place.  The hookah and bubble teas are always on point.  The waitstaff and owner are always around to help and make sure you are always taken care of.  Working at the tattoo studio next door, we are always enjoying their bubble teas and hookah.  If you don't like this place after you've been there, you can SUCK IT!

Pricey, but the sizes are fairly large. Usually blended decently, although a few times the slush was on the top half of the cup, there was a space, and then liquid was at the bottom (although this could be blamed on the outside weather, I suppose). I like the perfectly chewy texture of the tapioca, and the people working there are friendly. I never stay inside I always get drinks to-go. The place has a young hipster vibe, if that's what you're into. I like how you can choose the level of sweetness. Probably one of the best boba choices in SA but for some reason I don't feel excited, I just go there.

I love bubble tea, drank it all the time at the abundant locations in Houston. This place has a semi comfy atmosphere, but the area of cashier and beyond is simply an eye sore. The drinks are good but they take too damn long to bring out your order. Compared to the places in Houston this is definitely at the bottom, but in San Antonio, this has been the best Ive found. And the prices are high.

i went here to celebrate my birthday and i gotta say i really liked this place. the staff was really friendly and laid back. It is a small place so its good to get there kind of early. We got there at about 8:30pm and the place started getting a little crowded around 9. I absolutely loved that they offered board games for the customers to play. Overall this place is really relaxing and a great place to kick back and smoke hookah and drink some refreshing bubble tea.

First off, the quality of the drinks and tapioca is pretty sub par compared to other places I've been to. Well, coming from Houston, my expectations in tapioca are pretty high. But, seeing as it's pretty much the only one near campus, it will have to do. The drinks are eh, okay. The ones i've tasted so far seem like the flavor is more powder based rather than actual fruit based, and it's ridiculously priced. I have to say though, I do like the place overall. The hookah and late hours make it a prime place to hang out and just chill with friends. Despite the bad drinks, it's always packed and the owner is really friendly and personable! But, what can I say, if I really wanted my tapioca fix, I don't really have much of a choice in SA, do I?

    Review Source:

It's probably the best San Antonio has to offer but compared to bubble teas in Houston and Austin - this place would be below average for me. Just not a fan at all. On top of that, its almost $5 for one drink.

I feel like the drinks lack authenticity and richness. I taste mostly blended ice with an altered fruit flavor versus a fresh and refreshing fruit drink. From what you can read, it's pretty obvious I do not order a lot of bubble tea in SA. But if I had to go to a tapioca place to get my fix, I would settle for SISA.  I have tried the taro and avocado at this place and I think they are comparable to the ones on Bellaire/Chinatown. As for the milk tea and Jasmine tea, I don't think its reached my preferred expectations yet. But, there's always room for improvement!

Besides the drinks, I think it is cool place to hang out. SISA has a lot of board games to play and is a good place to go to if you want to have a 'chill' night with your friends. On top of that, they have a great staff and are customer friendly which is always a plus.

Again, the reasoning for the 2 stars is because I have experienced better. Nonetheless, ALL my friends are fans and regulars at this place so kudos to S.I.S.A for converting them!

I have to admit, I'm a bubble tea / boba tea addict.  In addition to Bubblehead, Suck It San Antonio is on my list of places to go in San Antonio when I want boba.  In fact, since I'm near the medical center, this is a little bit closer for me - and, they're planning on opening a shop across the street on Louis Pasteur soon, so all the better.

The Boba (or Pearl Milk Tea): If you're going to get anything, get the taro smoothie.  They blend it just right and it's rich and creamy.  It's pretty much the drink that I get there regularly.  The regular milk teas (e.g. black tea, hong kong style, etc) are pretty decent, although they are a little more milky and less tea than I usually like.  The pearls have a good consistency.

Service: Friendly staff that chat with you, check with you if you want to adjust your bubble tea, and are generally laid back.

Ambiance: Pros: It's open late.  Cons (at least for me): SISA is also a hookah joint (as are most boba places in San Antonio), so be prepared to be surrounded by a lot of people smoking hookah if you decide to stay around to sip your drink.  I always got mine to go since the place is packed.

Pricing: A little bit pricier than what I paid in Cali, but hey, I'm definitely down for paying for some good boba.

I am a huge traditional bubble tea fan and this the only bubble tea shop in San Antonio I will crave.

When I say traditional bubble tea, I mean the milk tea with tapioca kind, although the place sells a vast combination of flavors that many people seem to order and like.

I have visited most of the 'famous' bubble tea places in Austin and Houston and I can definitely say this one is better than any place in Austin and extremely comparable to the top places in Houston. The pearls are always done just right and the owner is always open to trying combinations not on the menu if you ask.

The sitting can get a bit crowded on busy evenings, especially if Hookah crowds come in. However, it's a great place to relax if you are just looking for somewhere to sit and watch a game on the two flat screen TVs, or play a board game from the ceiling-high stack found in the store.

Also, a great place to use free wi-fi if you are in the mood.

Best part of all!!! *Opens late so great choice if you are looking for a non-bar/Walmart hangout in the middle of the night!

Great place to get a custom bubble tea. Not so great a place to relax and enjoy it. The place is packed with high school kids*. I hope that Paris Bar goes out of business and SISA expands to open up the seating. It is very cozy right now. There is a giant stack of games to play but a lot of them are missing pieces or broken.

*I've been asked to clarify this - I meant 18 year olds (high school seniors) since its illegal to sell tobacco to minors obviously.

After a few months of patronage, I can now attest.  This is the best bubble tea in San Antonio, bar none.  The oolong milk tea with pearls is awesome.

The tea is always very fragrant and delicious.  I would suggest going at night when they're busier as tapioca is always tastier when it's fresh.

Great place with a very helpful owner. Offer blended drinks, shaken drinks and the options for smoothie blend ( with milk), slushie (w/out milk), and traditional milk tea. All are priced at 3.99 and include 2 flavors of choice with the drink as well as options for milk, soy, sugar sunstitutes, blended coffee, and hookahs. Place is small, cozy, tons of games. They sell the SISA logo shirts to advertise snd sport with the cute little panda head. The art and decor is very zen meditation and the wall menu is descriptive though most places do have a bit more flavor options. They sell candy bars which they will blend in your drink for a unique flavor addition.
