Been coming here since I was little. Best cruise spot in Indiana in my opinion.

As far as food, they have great onion rings and root beer floats.

Stopped by Suds Drive In for the first time Saturday with my son. It was nippy out, but we were in the mood. So glad we did! The drive in looks exactly like you'd expect a drive in to look. Curbside seervice and an outside area with some picnic tables. I ordered a couple of loaded chili dogs, my son ordered the breaded tenderloin and we both got onion rings. The tenderloin was huge and thin. Don't know whether they pound them out themselves, but my son was happy with the results. The onion rings were hand-breaded - not battered - and they were very, very good. The chili dogs were exceptional. They came in poppy seed buns, which I love, and were loaded with homemade coney sauce. The sauce was meaty and just a bit sweet - just enough. Can't tell you how much I loved those coneys. Ordering two of them plus onion rings was a mistake, though. Too much of a great thing. Next time I'll either order just one with some rings, or skip the rings and have two.  Service was friendly, by the way. The Suds Drive In is about a 20 minute drive from home, but well worth the trip.

Whether it's for the out-of-this world traditional American food served in paper wrappers and plastic baskets or the time-defying ambiance of a 50's car-port/restaurant, the Suds Drive-In is a true gem of Americana, located on the south side just off of Madison Avenue and Main Street in Greenwood's historic downtown district.

My wife and I found this place by total accident on a hot summer day, and it looked like a real winner from the get-go.  Standing proudly at the end of a parking lot like some long-lost American Graffiti set piece, I half-expected girls on roller skates to glide up to my window to take my order.

Having recently moved to Indiana, I was happy to have an opportunity to try my first pork tenderloin sandwich--a Hoosier staple food, I've been told--while my wife ordered the pulled pork.  Both were superb, so much so in fact that we both went into meat-and-french-fries-induced comas when we arrived home later that afternoon.

The buttermilk-basted onion rings and homemade coney sauce were also the best this reviewer has ever tried, and the eponymous root beer, which the wait staff circulated by the pitcher-full, tasted welcomingly better than your average brew.

All-in-all, this place is gold.  A can't-miss treat if you love coneys, burgers, hot sandwiches, and deep-fried fried deliciousness of all kinds.  (I mean to come back and try the root beer float.)  Their days and hours are a bit odd, so check the website before you make the trip.  Good eating!
