Typical of this kind of place -- basic "bar type" menu of burgers, sandwiches, a few steaks, a smattering of seafood. Â Honestly, these places all run together for me, and I find it hard to distinguish between the menu and food at Chili's, Max & Erma's, Applebee's, O'Charley's, TGIFriday's, Ruby Tuesday, Bennigan's . . . Â Max & Erma's does have a "sundae bar" placed on what is supposed to be a bathtub, and the toppings provided were both skimpy and sad. Â The burger and fries were fine, the prices were typical.
Review Source:I don't come here often (unfortunately, because my husband doesn't think it is anything great), but I actually really like this place. Â I'm a fan of comfort food, and I think that overall, this place does a good job of offering a variety of good-tasting choices that are unique but not too "out there." Â My favorite things to eat here are tortilla soup (not authentic to real Mexican food but I like it just as much for different reasons!!!), hamburgers, the grilled chicken sandwich (consistently a moist, juicy, substantial piece of chicken), the fried shrimp (I think it is only offered on Fridays), the banana cream pie (I don't care for banana cream anything UNLESS it is Max & Erma's--then I love it!!!), and the chocolate chip cookies. Â I have never ordered the all-you-can-eat sundae bar in the bathtub, but it always looks good. Â My fear for this location is that it will go out of business, because I never see a lot of customers here and because Famous Dave's across the street gets lots and lots of diners. Â If they ever close down, I at least want them to put out a cookbook with their recipes!!!
