I have been dining at Sudwerks since 1989. Boy has the menu really gone down hill. It used to be a really delicious and unique dining experience when Gretel was still around. Now it is just your typical bar food. The menu has some variety. If I wanted greasy and take out crap, I would go to some random dive in downtown Davis but the beer is still fantastic and that is why I am giving it 3 stars.
Review Source:Came by to pick up lunch here on a regular weekday and would say that coming in when it's wayyy less busy makes for a better experience. The staff member who served me today was very attentive and personable. Sandwich prices are a bit on the higher side however, their monthly special menu has some enticing items on it. From that menu, I selected the Cubano sandwich which was pretty good. Couldn't say no to the carmelized onions and aioli! Give it a try if you don't know what to get here.
Review Source:Suds is cool because it is one of the only places around where you can come with a huge group, drink tons of beer and play drinking games. The service and security can be kind of meh and pushy at times, but I understand they must keep everyone cool when everyone is buzzed.
Love the beer! I've only tried the fries here, not worth the money so just eat after.
There is a $4 dollar cover on Wednesdays, which is $1 pitch days for beers. I usually only come on Wednesdays because of that awesome and sweet deal. I have been here before for a club event and a launch party though. Security is just as strict at those events, fries are the same (not worth it), and beer is awesome like usual.
