The food was good, especially the french onion soup and Smith Island Cake. There wasn't really anything that was outstanding, but nothing was bad. A decent meal, at quality meal prices. It took about 15 minutes before we got our bread and salads, not an unreasonable wait time for a busy night. My steak was cooked exactly to order.

The interior is in dire need of an update, it was bare and boring once you were past the crab sculpture in the entry way. Being able to feed the ducks outside added a fun element, though.

Our  major complaint was how noisy a large party was. We arrived just as they were finishing, and they stood and chatted loudly (which echoed in the bare dining room) for over 20 minutes. Even after we spoke to a manager, they were not asked to move their loud socializing to another area. The staff actually sat new customers at tables people were still standing around, talking. How poorly handled! Having someone at our elbows laughing and talking so loudly that we couldn't hear the people we came to eat with really ruined our experience.

Have not been here in years and once again not a problem with anything. The food was fast and good. Kids played outside with the ducks on the water while we waited for our food. They have great deals on Sundays doing football season, so will be going back for that soon.

This is not a restaurant you go to for an amazing seafood experience. This is the restaurant where area families having probably been coming for years and years. Most guests I saw were just that, multi-generational families and smaller tables of older folk who remember maybe what it was like in the good old days.

The Food: Pedestrian, safe for those who aren't looking for anything with too much flavor or unusual. My husband ordered the Kool's crab cake and though it was all lump, he said it could have benefited from a good dose of Old Bay or S&P. My shrimp were probably frozen. Another in our party got the fish fingers which again was probably frozen. The last dish, the clam strips. Need I repeat? Frozen. I didn't try the appetizer of the seafood potato skins but my husband and our friends enjoyed it.

The Decor: Has probably not changed in many, many years but at least they keep the place tidy. There is a "roadside America" giant metal crab just as you walk in the front door that is worth a photo op.

The Service: I watched the young hostess work very hard to pull her way too short skirt down while trying to take us to our table. I half expected our server to call us "Hon" every 5 minutes. Though not expecting tuxedoed wait staff, it's just a little too hometown for my tastes.

Parking was not a problem, even for a Sunday but as the lot is also for the riverboat and the marina, I can envision some days/nights being crowded.

    I personally would not return.

    *RIVERBOAT Crab Feast Review only*

The restaurant hosts an all you can eat crab feast lunch cruise($52). There is a schedule on the restaurant's website. There are also another lunch, dinner and a murder mystery cruise.

The Suicide Bridge is not a tall bridge by any means, just so happens some decided to spend their last few moments on earth there before they decided to exit this world on their own terms.

This was my first time(Aug 8, 2013) going on a cruise of this nature, so I didn't know what to expect. First off, I would recommend going on a day where there are 2 cruises scheduled. The first cruise that set sail was almost full to capacity as there were a couple charter buses that had arrived for the cruise; and there were seated on the top and bottom deck. Our boat only filled the bottom deck and after we ate we were able to enjoy the top deck without being elbow to elbow with anybody. It helps to have a pair of binoculars to peer at the large and gorgeous homes along the river, something my party did have.

The paddle steam boat cruises along the Choptank River. Once on the boat, there is assigned seating. Your name is written on the table cover, which is similar to brown shipping paper. The table setting is already placed along with condiments/papertowels; and the coleslaw is already plated. The cabbage was shredded finely and it tasted sweet. Food is served to you in the following order: crab soup, corn on the cob, fried chicken, fried clam strips and crab. You have to get your own beverage from the bar;Pepsi products are served. Soft drinks, tea and water are free. I would suggest that if you go with 3 or more people, get a pitcher or 2  of the beverages you want all at one time as there is a line that forms if you are only seeking out one beverage at a time or if the cruise has a lot of people on it. Dessert was cheesecake and it was self serve. Some pieces were drizzled with caramel, chocolate or raspberry syrup.

Service was good, friendly and provided by 2 young girls in their late teens or 20s. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they served the crab to you with their bare hands. Everything else was served in a professional manner. Entertainment consisted of a piano player who sang any and everything you requested. By no means was he annoying at all, just very professional and pleasant. He even sang Proud Mary. "Rollin on the river...," which was so fitting since that's what we were doing! There was a senior lady who took to the mic a few times to sing a melody or two and boy did she have a WONDERFUL voice! She had to be a professional singer in her day.

The first boat had sailed off with a banjo player as entertainment. I enjoyed the piano player very much.

The cruise lasted 3hrs total and the turn around was the harbor at Cambridge where boats were docked and there were condos on the water. You could easily eat for the whole 3hrs if you weren't careful! Food quality was good, and as other reviewers have put it, appropriate for family dining and not a foodie! Carry a few singles or 5s as there are tip jars for the pianist and the bar. There are only 2 bathrooms which are small and are similar to a home bath.

This is an ideal day trip since on the way back you could stop at the many fresh produce stands and the hit the outlet mall before you cross back over the bay bridge.

Reflecting on this, it was more about the experience; so DON'T go there with a city attitude or pretentiousness. Everyone I encountered was nice, even fellow cruisers who owned their own vessels were nice enough to invite you on a sailing excursion the next time you were on the Eastern shore!

Best crab and best price with the great view!!! Went there twice. Ordered their Jumbo and Medium crabs. Crab bites and grill shrimps etc. Everything was delicious. Only complain might be the customers there are really early birds, when we got there at 8pm for dinner, man the place was so empty...  I will definitely go back.

It's 1975 all over again.  The building, interior, and menu are in desperate need of a makeover.  The restaurant is truly out in the middle of nowhere and is located on the Choptank near its namesake bridge.  We arrived early on a Thursday and were greeted by a friendly hostess who asked us rather loudly if we were having crabs.  We said no, and she walked us to our table.  After being seated, our waiter came over and asked us once again if we going to have crabs.  Again, no, we're not having crabs.  Frankly, if we were going to have crabs, there are a variety of crab houses a lot closer to the civilized world who do it better.

We ordered our drinks which arrived promptly; our appetizer order was taken and we wait patiently.  Our waiter brought rolls to our table which were very good.  We were also happy to see that the butter was not served in a rock hard state.  The rolls were slightly sweet, yeasty, and warm - easily the best part of the meal (as we were about to find out).

We ordered the famous crab balls, clams casino, and fried calamari.  I'm not sure how the crab balls ever became famous -- infamous would be an easier sell, but famous?  Surely not.  They are small, filled with "special' grade crab meat, not particularly seasoned well, mushy, and coated with an industrial grade corn-meal jacket.  Curiously, they are served with a sleeve of saltine crackers and a small cup of practically tasteless ketchup masquerading as cocktail sauce.  Nobody is going to get famous serving these.

The Clams Casino was truly awful.  They had a funky, old smell reminiscent of a snuggle with your grandmother.  No amount of bacon could salvage this dish.  I couldn't identify exactly what was off about the dish, but something was peculiar.  The Fried Calamari fell right into line with the disappointment of the other appetizers.  It was a truly below par offering that neither thrilled nor offended - it was the Katie Couric of appetizers.

I intentionally ordered seafood thinking that we would be safer playing to the strengths of the restaurant.  I mean seriously, the menu has pictures of fish in it, so stick with the seafood right?  They got the lobster special (a 1.5 lb steamed lobster) exactly right.  It was not overcooked, and it was indeed fresh.  If it weren't for the haul to Hurlock, I would consider going back for the Thursday lobster special for $21.95.

My wife got the crab cakes, I chose the surf and turf consisting of a fliet mignon and crab cake.  Unlike the crab balls, the crab cakes were chocked full of jumbo lump meat.  They were about four ounces in size, and while not the best crab cakes I have ever had, they were certainly not the worst.  They could have been a bit less greasy (too much mayo perhaps?) and bit firmer on the seasoning.  The filet mignon was another below par offering served on a piece of rye toast.  It was coated in a healthy dose of seasoned salt - the funky flavor I recognized from the Clams Casino.   While neither entree was awful, they simply did not rise to the $28.95 price tag.  The level of quality and preparation is reminiscent of the 1970s - times have changed but the food has not.

The sides were predictably uninspiring.  My wife made the mistake of ordering the sweet potato fluff which was nothing more than mashed sweet potatoes with molten marshmallows on top.  I had a baked potato and cole slaw which were passable, but were hardly able to assist in justifying the drive or the price.

Suicide Bridge follows an all too familiar story of restaurants in rural areas.  Its glory days are well behind it and ownership seems to be afraid to make any changes for fear of upsetting the positively ancient clientele whose olfactory and lingual senses have long since abandoned them.  It is situated on a lovely piece of land on the waterfront and has a great, if not kitschy story about its namesake bridge, but it is very much trading on its reputation that was established decades ago.  There is a severe shortage of good restaurants on the shore and sadly, this is one that can easily be skipped.

Pedestrian family style restaurant. If you are looking for a foodie culinary experience you won't find it here. If you like family style food, I guess it is ok.

We dined there in March 2011 and enjoyed two good fish dinners. Ample portions. Recommended!

Dinner was OK.  Probably 2 1/2 stars.  I had the stuffed flounder and it was a huge serving and a bit over-cooked but tasty.  The sides were awful.  Potatoes with bacon and what tasted like cheese whiz.  The veg medley was cooked to death and didn't taste fresh at all.  My wife, not a fan of seafood, had the BBQ chicken which was horrible.  A couple of overdone breasts with store bought BBQ sauce smeared on. Dreadful.  So I guess if you eat here go for what most people go for...the seafood.

Dinner was just great. Craig, seated us at at a table overlooking the water. Our dinner was great. I had oyster imperial and steak and cake. The ribeye was cooked perfect , and the crab cake was to die for. My wife got crab with cheese and it was cooked to perfection . Our guest ordered crap imperial. She stated that her meal was the best she had ever had. She even ordered two kook crap cakes to go. Our experience was outstanding. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Friday night seafood buffet is wonderful!  Great selection and fresh fish.  It's worth the drive from DC just for this.  There are a few vegetarian items on the menu, not many, but something.  You can also order pasta or a selection of side items if you don't eat meat/fish.  The restaurant is large with 2 floors and a few different rooms.  The setting is lovely on the water with a duck feeding station outside.  Even if the parking lot is full, don't worry, the restaurant can seat a lot of people and handles large groups very well.  The Friday night seafood buffet is posted weekly on their website with the items listed for that upcoming buffet.  It's not fancy.  It's definitely casual, both in dress, atmosphere and service.  But you come for the food and a laid back place.  There are picnic tables outside near the boat slips, but no table service.  I suppose if you wanted to, you could probably get food to go and eat outside if you're arriving by boat and don't want to eat indoors.

    Big Disappointment!!

Had Rockfish for lunch which was great.  Accompaniments Terrible:  Coleslaw was a mush which appeared to be put thru a food processor; onion rings were taken from freezer in a clump, and put into fryer which then came out as a clump.  My partner had a clam strip basket which had no pieces of clams, only breading, she had crab chowder which was total salt and she had French fries which were passable.  The catsup served was almost empty and had probably been reused many times.  Salt and pepper shakers needed a good cleaning.  Waitress visited table several times to check on things but never removed empty dishes, i.e. bread, soup, salad, etc.  The place was not at all busy and the other wait people were not in a rush to clean up tables that guest had left.

The mini crab cake appetizers were fresh; as well as the soft bread rolls they deliver in the beginning. First course = yumm.
On the other hand, I ordered the fried clam sandwich (aka burger) . It was bland. nuff said.
I was also disappointed bc that was my first ever clam sandwich and it didn't meet  my expectations.
Service was nice & friendly, although my entree wasn't great, all of the seafood is and tastes fresh.

Stopped in for a crab break the day after Thanksgiving. Yum-Yum! Had crab balls and cream of crab soup. Very delicious. Right on the water and great views of the Choptank River. Rooms have several fireplaces and great ambiance. Would love to go back during the summer and try a meal aboard one of the two paddle-wheelers docked there.

We live in Salisbury, so it seemed like it took forever for us to get there. It truly is in the middle of nowhere . I had heard lots of good things about this place so I took my husband here for his birthday dinner. October 23rd 2009  We were seated by the window just in time to see one of the most beautiful sunsets the both of us had ever seen.  I wish I could tell you it only got better.  For as pricey as the menu is , the place seems a bit run down.  Maybe that was the charm.  I wasn't charmed.  The food was so ordinary I could have made it in my own kitchen.  The service, however was excellent.  There were a lot of good friendly helpful people.  That really made my experience a tad better.  I almost felt bad for not liking the joint.  We spent about 150 for 3 people ( including tip) . We were frustrated and still hungry.  It was an expensive long drive.  Ohhh but much more expensive than we thought. While On the way home, on the pitch black twisty creepy road,  we hit a deer.  I was so shaken, I vomited up my dinner.   This was just a bad night. We have never gone back.

This was the second time that we have dined here. I will say that it is in the middle of no where, but the fresh fish is delicious. As other people have said, don't expect anything fancy, just good food! I had the Mahi-Mahi stuffed with Crab and it was awesome! The crabcakes weren't as good as what you may get in other towns, but they were ok.

There just aren't a lot of restaurants out by Cambridge.

Suicide Bridge however is a favorite of my Grandmother's so we tend to come out to this restaurant whenever we visit.

This place gets packed on the weekends! Make sure you call ahead to make reservations, otherwise, you can wait for up to an hour to get seated.

Located right on the water, the view from the restaurant is lovely. Ducks hang out by the pier waiting for people to come up with bread to feed them. (Kids love it, but I don't recommend it)

Seafood is fresh, and most preparations are very simple. I like to come here for crabs!

They do an All-You-Can eat crab feast for $34.95pp. Included: cole slaw, fried chicken, clam strip, corn on the cob.

You can up the ante by adding steamed shrimp or snow crab legs at $2.00 increments to to the All you can eat price.

Beautiful setting right along the harbor.  Mostly locals there.  Really basic seafood, but the freshly caught stuff doesn't need much more than to be steamed.  Delicious, romantic, great service.  Our server was attentive, quick, offered suggestions without the DC pretentiousness that you so often find from your server. If you're looking for an escape from DC, this is a good one.  Good (and reasonably priced) wine list.  My date and I both really enjoyed this spot.

Great atmosphere because it's right on the water. Beautiful views. Great for crabs and other seafood. Everything else is ok. Their seafood buffet is way overpriced for what you get. Not that great of a selection and the food they do have is not great. Still dying to try their rib buffets on Thursdays tho. Food is a little expensive for the area. Mostly locals dine here on special occasions. It is in a rural setting and people outside of locals don't really know about this place.
