This place is dead. I drove to try this place out, but no one was in the lot and I got kinda pissed since I drove such a distance. I arrived at like 7:30. They had to turn on the stove and stuff since I wanted food. The only other person at the bar was an employee who stopped in to say hi.3 other people came in and that was it. They shut  off one side of the building. Food is not all that great. Only reason this place get a 2 because the bartender was also going through the exam hell like I was and was pissed that he had to work that dead ass bar instead of studying. I felt bad for him, plus he was nice.
Review Source:My dad has been wanting to try this place for awhile now so I figured Father's Day would be a good tmie to try it and my brother and niece came along as well. When we got there my brother asked if it Surly's was even open because the parking lot was empty. It was open and just like the lot it was empty...with the exception of one table.
My first impression is that the space is really nice. BB Binks was very 70's and then Gilly's was sparse, but Surly's is pure sports bar. After we were sat the server (who was also the bartender) gave us the menu...which was one double-sided 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. Turns out it was a lunch menu (we walked in at around 2:30) but it was still pretty limited.
My dad and I order the Buffalo Wings and my brother got the Chicken Satay and I have to say the food was good. We got a couple basket of fries and those were good too.
Now I'd really like to give this place 4 stars, but the limited menu didnt feature too many enticing options and it was...limited. I hate repeating myself, but that's how it was.
Surly's has a long road to hoe simply because it's on a dying strip of road...in the middle of nowhere, but expanding the menu and embracing it's sports bar-ness, it could be a raging success.
Had read reviews on here, and was a bit disappointed. Â 4 of us had a variety of dishes and were less than impressed. Â My dish of steak tips was not really tips but a few large pieces of steak. Â At first I thought this was fine, but they were very rare (ordered medium). Â The worst thing was the silverware, it was like cafeteria ware. Â My fork bent every time I cut my steaks, and the knife was like a cheese knife. Â I can only guess they got this at a deal from some closed cafeteria or school, but it is not of any quality. Â
Some of the reviews that made me go here were highly grading the bar, and that may be, but for a meal I will look elswhere.
