This place is a huge disappointment. When A friend and I walked in at 7pm on a Saturday night and the place was empty, it should have been a clue. No joke we were the only ones there and had to ask if they were open.  First off the menu is confusing. Sushi rolls do not have a clear description and the selection is limited. I have a few minor food allergies and had to ask the waitress what specifically was in each roll. I was shocked to find out how many rolls had ingredients that were not listed on the menu.  I ordered 2 rolls and some miso soup. I had to remind the waitress twice to bring my soup, which finally arrived 10 mins after my two rolls. Keep in mind my friend and I are still the only customers in the whole place!  When our waitress brought the rolls out she couldn't tell what was what. Then admitted she didn't know very much about sushi. Both my rolls had tempura shrimp in them, which was chewy. Not kidding the shrimp was rubbery and the tempura had no crunch what so ever. Both rolls were very very bland, and I ordered spicy rolls!  The tuna that topped one roll was warm, rubbery and had no taste what so ever. The only thing that had flavor was the cream-cheese!  The miso soup had by far more flavor than my food!  There was no change in texture either, it was mush. Save yourself the time, money and upset stomach and go somewhere else!

This place is getting three stars only because I loved the music and the vibe; also, $4 rolls on Thursday nights is kinda cool. The service on the other hand wasn't that great. We went long periods without seeing out waitress. I ordered three rolls and finished two long before the third came out; at least 15min after the first two were done the third still hadn't arrived to our table. There wasn't a huge variety of rolls either, which kinda bummed me out. Overall, ehhhh. Cool if you're not in a rush and want some inexpensive sushi rolls.

Crappy and loud music with below average sushi. Never again.

Before you frequent Susaki Lounge check to see that the owner is paying his workers. It has happened before and it has happened again. It is alleged the owner keeps workers tips, bounces checks and generally runs the business fast and loose. When a business handles workers poorly one wonders how they are handling raw fish?

Recently visited this establishment with coworkers. The decor has been updated and changed somewhat, but the service was terrible, the drinks were watered down, and the sushi made us queasy a few hours later. Two thumbs down for this place.

Will never come here again!! Horrible service, horrible food, Britney Spears videos playing back to back on the TV screens, and they always rip you off when the check comes (charging you for drinks you didn't order or making them sound like they are on the house, etc). Shady business overall; don't waste your $ or time for this Mexican sushi!

Starting at the beginning... We went in for an earlyish dinner around 4. Walking in, there was nobody at the front to seat us. We tried asking the sushi chef at the front if we seat ourselves but he didn't seem to know any english--whatever. So we start walking toward a table and one of the waiters (without saying "hi" or "how are you") says "I'll get you menus".
    Again, whatever.
The interior of the restaurant has so much potential but there were light bulbs out, the floor is messed up, etc. I should have figured they don't keep the place up by the broken sign out front :P

The food was mediocre. We got the dragon roll and the banana roll which were both alright, nothing special. And we also got the lo mein  which was alright as well (again, nothing special).

The service was slow and we ended up having to wait 20 min for the check. I could understand this sort of service while the restaurant is busy but it wasn't even close to being busy.

My number one complaint was the MUSIC!!! If you own a sushi restaurant, don't blast reggaeton and 90's mexican pop music!!!! Totally killed the mood on our date night.

All in all, not going back. We'll go to Geske's next door and get way better food.

Let's start with the condition of the resturaunt. The floor had holes in the hardwood that the staff attempted to cover up with floor mats. I almost fell twice as my heel got stuck in a hole. The seat cushoins were torn and the bathroom was not clean.

I was with a party of 8 and we were seated in the "VIP room" which merely meant out of sight, out of mind. I finally had to walk to the front of the resturaunt and request a waiter help us after 15 min of waiting (also when I almost fell the first time). When the waiter came in five min later, he said "Oh, no one helped you guys?" looked clearly annyed that he was stuck with us and then left and came back five min after that to take our drink orders. We asked that we have 8 seperate tabs, assuring him we tip very well and he said he couldn't do that unless we didn't move from our seats because it "Wasn't his job to remember who was where or ordered what".

The food was sub-par. I took a make your own sushi class and my mutilated barely rolled rolls were better than the California rolls I got. Also, I have a shellfish allergy and I know imitation crab contains no actual crab, but the menus do not say if they use imitation or the real deal. I asked the waiter if they used imitation crab as I am allergic to shellfish and he said "I don't know. It all comes packaged." Had I not asked him to please go back and ask, he would not have done it on his own.

The only highlight was the company I was with and our ability to laugh it off. And the dirty martini wasn't too bad, and no one can mess up a jack and coke. I will say, the Ale House in the same strip that we migrated to after was very good and we had a great waitress despite it being packed.

This place, until now, was my go-to place for sushi in the sun city.  They have pretty good food and a nice clean dining atmosphere, however the prices of the food are a bit much for what you get.  The wait staff is way understaffed, at least today it was, spent almost 40 minutes before we received our rolls, they were actually sitting on the counter for about 10-15 minutes. (I should have grabbed them myself.)  Spent a total of and hour and a half for miso soup 3 rolls and a salad, and almost got charged twice for an overpriced Vegas roll!!!
Hopefully the experience is different next time, but will leave right away if there aren't enough wait staff!

I visit EP monthly, and since I love sushi, I try out the various restaurants on the different sides of town. Susaki had received high marks, so we made reservations. Here is why I would prefer give this place no stars.
The hostess was friendly and polite. That is the only positive comment.
The light above our table was out, so we were in the dark. Our server came, a young girl. We ordered the most pricey bottle of sake ($26). She left to turn the wine order in. A few minutes later she returned to get our food order. We ordered edamame. Still no sake. She brings out the edamame. 20 minutes (not guest perception time, but actual time), after the sake was ordered, she brings it in a tea pot. I pour it, and it's room temperature. It's also under poured and MAYBE half a small bottle.  When she comes back to get our food order, I ask her if we could have the sake hot. She takes our food order &  removes the sake pot, returning ten minutes later with it. I pour again, and I am MORTIFIED. The sake was watered down. However, she put the pot down & walked away.  She walked by our table twice, not making eye contact & ignoring us.

So we left. I will not spend  money in a place that offers horrible service and adds water to drinks. Susaki is an unprofessional and poorly presented restaurant.  Any establishment that can't keep up with lighting fixtures and waters down drinks will certainly not take care in the kitchen with food handling and safety.

    Horrible.

The place dosent have the best sushi. The rolls are skimpy and the fish dosnet taste fresh. This place seems cool for the drinks and the bands. Check out sumo sushi not too far away.

This place is the WORST sushi place I have ever been to in the USA!! Horrible service our waiter cleared our drinks before we left and we both had half glass of wine left and half of a martini. Sushi had little to no fish inside they just filled it with cucumber avocado or cream cheese whatever the fillers in the rolls are. The atmosphere was nothing like LA living in LA for many years I rather go to a dive sushi joint than waste my time and money at this place.

Although some of the rolls are tasty, the cockyness, rudness of the staff make it a waste of time. The prices are not worth it. If you enjoy being skipped over, so that some regulars, or friends of the employees can be served first, this is the place.

Fiancé enjoyed the sushi, food presentation is nice...buuuut the service was horrible!!!! We were the second couple to arrive and the people that arrived after us were served before the waiter came to take our order!  I ordered a chicken dish and it was served with white rice AND mashed potatoes  ... And COLD steamed broccolli! I give it props for the decor, the martini, & the sushi. I'll never go there again because of the service

Being from San Francisco where good Sushi restaurants are as common as McDonald's, I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service here. I had a spicy Hamachi hand roll that was very tasty. Our server (Gary) was very attentive and checked in on us regularly. If I'm ever in El Paso again, I'll definitely eat here.

REALLY clean restaurant, I had gone when it transforms into a nightclub but not during the day.

The sushi isn't really great, in my opinion not worth the money one spends. I mean, we paid to eat at a really nice place and for average food. The spicy tuna was SPICY, and I mean really spicy. Besides, the calamari sushi was overly salty.

Either we caught them really early in the day or they need a new sushi chef.

This place is best as a night club, they have 2 full bars and a band that plays English and Spanish hit songs. As a nightclub, I give it 4 stars.

We came here a few years ago when my wife and I were visiting my family in EP. My cousin brought us here and started a sushi craze that is still going on. On our recent visit, we decided to stop by as we were staying right up the street. The place is pretty fancy. We showed up way under-dressed, but they didn't seem to mind. They were out of tables, so they seated us in the VIP section. We ordered the rainbow roll (11.95) and the susaki special roll ($12.95). We each got a free miso soup.
The miso looked pale and was pretty bland. It could have used some soy sauce or something. The rainbow roll was pretty boring and not very big. The fish was somewhat fresh, but not like what we get in SD. The susaki special roll was a different story. The roll had eel, cream cheese, and jalapeno in there and was tempura fried. It was very innovative and reminded me of a jalapeno popper both in texture and in the blend of flavors. It very interesting and I hope to convince some of our local spots to start making it.
For dessert, we ordered the fried vanilla ice cream with caramel topping. This was so delicious, it was amazing. The tempura batter was perfectly crispy, the ice cream was not melty, and the caramel sauce was the perfect compliment.
This place looks like it would be a lot of fun. They have live music on thursdays, which is the busy night. Very classy, not sure how the other rolls are, but check them out.

This is supposedly the place to go when you want to be seen in El Paso.  It's a cool lounge with local bands playing here.  The music is a mix of pop, rock, Tejano-style.  Everyone gets into it here.  You'd think you were in a club in LA or somewhere else other than El Paso.  Foodwise, the sushi is just so-so.  What do you expect when there's no oceans for hundreds of miles.  What my friend (who is a chef) thought was fresh hamachi, I thought was a day closer to being bad.  Skip the sushi and just go for the drinks and the entertainment.
