We purchased a ticket through "sieze the deal" where we were supposed to get 4 pounds of meat. 1 lb of pork loin, chopped beef, sausage, and brisket respectively. We picked up the food and made it home. It was going to be a family function so to be safe we were going to make sure we had enough food for everyone. It did not seem like it was quite enough food in the containers. After weighing each one it came out to be only 12 oz of each meat, so we were shorted a full pound of meat. My parents thought it was an honest mistake so they called up Sweet Lucy's to let them know about it. Immediately they were on the defensive and saying that my parents were liars. When that wasn't working for them they switched tactics to well how much did you have to pay for that. Which wasn't the point. The point of the matter was we were promised X amount of Food for $Y. And this is something that they had agreed to. We were not given the amount promised. We are from Meadow Texas, and when we told him that we would not be recommending them to anyone else he just let out a scornful laugh and said "Oh so I am going to lose all of that business from Meadow" If you are going to go out there I would recommend you going out with your own scale to weigh the food before you pay or you are going to get shorted.
@tigress. I would be happy to dig through my seize the deal history the coupon was explicitly for 4 lbs offer 1 of pulled pork, brisket, turkey and chopped beef. We got .75 of each. Please explain how we incorrectly ordered from what was printed on the coupon. I will not deny that they have good BBQ i only suggested being careful of amounts. I hope everyone else has a better experience than we did. I am so glad you know exactly what happened and can play the blame game on their behalf. Have a wonderful day.
The last time I was in Lubbock, my mom and I had a hankerin' for BBQ, so we drove out to Sweet Lucy for the dine-in experience. That was my first time to actually dine in the restaurant, and I loved it. The place is very quaint and casual with cute country decor. Since it is family owned & operated, expect service to be friendly and very quick. If you're in a hurry or just don't want to get out of the car to face the wild west Texas winds, they have a drive thru window, as well.
Now, on to the important details -- the FOOD! I had the chopped beef sandwich and I think I gobbled down the entire thing in 5 seconds flat--VERY tasty!! My mom had the smoked chicken and raved about it for three straight days---seriously. I have also had the ribs on other occasions and they are divine - sweet & spicy & absolutely huge!!! They had several awards displayed from different BBQ competitions and it doesn't surprise me at all - every time I have eaten their food it has been great!
So, all-in-all, if you are in the mood for some good ole' fashioned BBQ, it's worth the drive to head out to Sweet Lucy BBQ.
