I went here many years ago. I could not remember the quality of the food. I recently started working in the city and am exploring the local places to eat. I will not return here because the food is OK at best. The place itself is dirty, the tables are sticky and the floor is just way too nasty. I did not plan on going here, I went by mistake because I get two places confused.

Back in February, I had a very bad dining experience at Syracuse Suds that kept me out of the place until a few days ago. This time around, the "Waitress From Hell" was nowhere to be found, and the Bartender on duty was friendly and helpful. I had emailed my bad review to Syracuse Suds's ownership in hope they'd take it seriously, and perhaps it had some beneficial effect. I'm comfortable going back again soon for what is one of the best burgers in the 'cuse...

Greasy, soggy and tasteless. The single worst place I've ever eaten. From the looks of it, I figured I was in-store for a Fridays-level dining experience. That is an insult to every Friday's in the country. This place is just totally gross.

Fish n chips last year was pretty awful. Just bland and dry, very obviously frozen. It was a Sunday though and quiet and so I chalked it up to that. Tried again this Friday and it was equally bad. Not limited to fish either- the nachos we shared were a mess and not in a good way.

The Martin's buffalo chicken sandwich is great and the toasted ravioli is a must have. My husband loves the black cherry lambic! I love some of the other food on the menu but it depends on who is in the kitchen on how good it comes out.

Dropped in the other night for a beer...the place is always a bit slow every time I go there. I had a stout which tasted like metal or something. Kinda wish I'd had my money and time back. Bouncers are nice at least.

Slow, slow, painfully slow service. Food that was suppose to be hot was cold and a basic side salad was wilted, brown and warm (possibly sat under warming lights with the rest of the order?). Table and chairs were dirty and sticky. We will never be back.

Visited Syracuse with friends this weekend and after having already visited Dinosaur BBQ and traversing the city only to find virtually nothing open, we hit SSF for some grub the next day.

Since I was already loading up on their tasty Caramel Porter I decided it was wise to go with soup and a salad. I don't eat meat, so the Turkey Noodle soup was not an option so I elected to go with the Herb and Cheese Ale soup and "Greek Salad". When our food arrived, the soup almost seemed appetizing until you drop a spoon in it. The cheese consistency was like a pureed polenta, was rather salty, but at least you could tell there was beer in it. The salad had Angel Hair pasta on it (odd) and was SATURATED in balsamic. Now some folks might like alot of balsamic on their salad, I for one don't. Had I known my greens would come drown in an overly pungent vinegar I would have asked for it on the side. Our friend's meal came with potato wedges/fries which she had an abundance of and shared with our group. Now I'm normally Salt indulgent, putting salt and pepper on virtually everything I eat, but even these fries were so salty I literally had to tap and/or wipe off the salt. Yes, that much. I realize bar food isn't fine dining, and the salty flavor is supposed to encourage you to imbibe more, but surely there is a limit to the cups of sodium you can add to food.

If you go, go for the tasty house draughts they have (BTW, they compare the Cherry Stout to a lambic, I wouldn't go that far as lambic in my experience, such as Lindemans, is fairly juicier/sweeter) but save your appetite for elsewhere. Your blood pressure will thank you for it.

Oh, and lastly, Quick Draw seems to always be on the fritz. Don't say you weren't warned!

Watched Syracuse nearly get pwned by Stanford here. That was probably the best part of the experience. The food all looked nasty so we didn't get any. Our server Ashley was an absentee waitress. She took our orders and then left, returning with our beers about 15 minutes later. Maybe they were microbrewing them specially for us?

Our DD ordered a gingerale, but she never brought it - we had to hit up another waitress for that, who seemed annoyed that we'd bother her while she was busy serving the only other table that had anyone at it.

When the time came to pay, Ashley was quick in bringing the bill but never returned to pick up the cash and bring the change. After waiting about 10 minutes I just went to the bar and had them do it there. Maybe self service was what we were supposed to do from the beginning?

In any case, with Empire Brewing company right down the street, with arguably better beer and better food, I can come up with no explanation as to why Suds Factory continues to operate.

I actually like their beer ok. It's a standard sports bar, The vibe is kind of boring. The fries were not bad, but for a plate of fries and one beer I paid over 11 bucks. Wasn't worth it.

Went here after everything else was closed on a Saturday July 3rd. Had the Pale Ale...it wasn't that bad. It was a bit thin, but it wasn't that bad. Ordered a burger cooked medium with unseasoned fries. I got a well done burger with seasoned fries.

    The food was average.
    The beer was average.

    Average.

*service was good though. Its the only reason Suds gets 3 stars. Otherwise, two for food and beer.

I used to go here quite a bit to watch football, if that is what you want to do this is a great venue. They show pretty much every game, and the wings are great. Recently I stopped in because I read that they had a new brew master. The new beers are excellent and they have special pricing on Thursdays and Fridays. I really enjoyed the soft chicken taco and the spicy fries. I have sat both at the bar and at a table, and both times the service was good. I know that the house beer here was questionable but I would highly recommend giving them another shot.

A little bit of a weird atmosphere at first, but I ended up feeling quite comfortable there. Shannon the bartender took good care of me. The food that I had was good but not great. And their beer was also good, not great. If I find myself in the area again, I will re-visit for a second opinion.

I've given this place three swings, and it struck out. The food is poorly cooked and flavorless. The "service" is surly, slow, and clearly irritated that you're making them work. And it's a brew pub with really bad beer. Never again will I darken the door of this place.

I'm a fan of the place because every Wednesday they have live Jazz from bands from around the area. They let you sit at your table all night without being pressured to buy food, drinks, or leave. The waitstaff is consistently friendly.

The food is typical bar fare, with some of it being good, some of it being fair, and some of it lousy. I'm partial to their spinach salad and toasted ravioli, but much of the food is par for a typical bar and grill.

Their locally brewed beer is hit or miss. I like the sweet stout, but i miss their black cherry which they didn't have at the time. Sometimes their batches can have a bitter aftertaste, but that's uncommon.

First, they need a new brewmaster. If you are supposed to be a brew-pub, the beer should be good. It was not.

3 out of 4 thought the food was somewhere in between awful and barely edible. The person who thought the food was ok ordered the clam chowder and the Friday special (fried haddock with mac and cheese); in fact he ate about a bite of the mac and cheese, which was more like a pasta with some of of tasteless, creamy sauce (with not much cheese evident).

The House Special soup was described as a "unique blend of herbs and cheese simmered with our own house ale." Ummm... if the dried parsley sprinkled on top of this bitter, sad, attempt as soup counts as "herbs" then I guess that's accurate. It was very disappointing. Not much flavor, and salt and hot sauce didn't do anything to help the problem.

The server didn't seem to be paying much attention to anything at all. She didn't know much about the beers, which seems like the first thing an employee of a brewpub should learn. She messed up several things: brought a pint instead of a half-pint which of our party ordered, charged us for an extra order of soup, and most egregiously brought someone a glass of water that had a rather large and noticeable BUG in it. Gross.

There have got to be better places to get food and beer in Syracuse. Try one of those.

Suds is a huge place. If you go during the week, you'll be the only one there, and if you go on the weekend, you won't be able to move. Prices are average, but like Maureen said, if you enjoy the company of frat kids and underage SU students, you're going to the right place.

suds is fun if you dont get annoyed by underage syracuse students of the frat and sorority type.  suds is a less "refined" bar than als, usually easier to get into than als or dorseys.

im not sure which night of the week it is, but they have flip nights where you have a 50 percent chance of getting your drink free.  the bartender flips a coin and you call it, and if you win, you drink is free.  if you lose, you pay.  sounds good to me

so yea, suds is big, loud music, energetic drunk crowd, can be pretty fun if youre up for it
