Great local bar with cold beers, best burgers in town and full liquor bar. They have happy hour on beers from 11 am to 2 pm and again from 6 pm to 9 pm. Sunday through Thursday you can get $4 Long Island Ice Teas from 9 pm to midnight.
My friends love to come here to play pool or darts. There is a dart league here, so if you're into that, you can always join. Karaoke on Thursday nights. Great opportunity to enjoy an evening with your friends, listen to your favorite music in the jukebox, play bar games, enjoy good food and drinks.
Bartenders are gorgeous and know their drinks. They can fix a great Martinis, Margaritas, any types of shots. It's a family owned bar, so everybody is like a big family here. If you like local pubs, this is your place!
We were visiting family in Saugus, and after a long weekend with the folks and kids, all the siblings and their wives took to the search for a dive bar in the SCV. Yelp delivered The Tailgate, and we decided to give it go. Â It is exactly what it is supposed to be, A dive bar, with decent food, and good drinks, they even carry Negra Modelo! Bartender was very accommodating and made us feel welcome.

Â I travel a lot and see a lot of great neighborhood bars, this one stands out. Â My only beef is $6.50 for a small shot of Jack Daniels is a bit much. Â But, $2.00 16 OZ cans of Bud Light (happy hour?) sort of makes up for it...sort of. Â Still great people come in and are obviously locals, I have always been treated well here even though I've only been a few times.
Review Source:This is hands down the worst bar I've ever been to. I went here on a Saturday night with a friend of mine. This place is really run down and low lighting that doesn't give it a "club" atmosphere, but makes you think of a high school MORP dance. My friend didn't have any money on him, so we were happy when we saw the "Two for One after 10 pm" drink special. I went up to the bar and confirmed the two for one. Upon confirmation, I ordered a Tropical Lemonaide and a Long Island. First of all, the bartender didn't even know how to make a Tropical Lemonaide. I've been to other bars in the past where if they don't know your drink, they'll look it up for you. She didn't offer to look it up and just told me she couldn't make that. So I ordered a Vodka Sunrise and a Long Island. She comes back quite some time later with TWO Long Islands and TWO Vodka Sunrises. I tell her that I wanted one of each, which is why I only ordered one of each. She informed me that it's two for one, and I told her that I know that, and I wanted to pay for one Vodka and get one Long Island for free. At this point she tells me that I have to order two of the same drink at the two for one. I asked her why she didn't inform me this when I ordered two different drinks. She claimed that she thought I wanted four drinks, which is just silly - how many times does a young female by herself order four drinks for herself? I ended up just paying for both drinks and they charge TEN DOLLARS for a Long Island! That's LA price, not Santa Clarita price. The Vodka Sunrise wasn't priced too well, either. The Vodka Sunrise wasn't terrfible, it needed more grenadine and vodka, and less orange juice. The Long Island was absolutley terrible. That order was for my friend but I tasted it and neither of us could drink it, it was made so poorly. We left about five minutes after getting our drinks, without finishing them - a first for both of us. Bottom line is, this place is awful, the prices are high, the bartenders are rude, and the atmosphere is seedy. Don't waste your night here.
Review Source:Went for karaoke night and immediately felt out of place. The place was full of people whom I think would be more than willing to fight. The karaoke list was mainly people horribly rapping. I gave two stars b/c I didn't get shot or in a fight and b/c I'm sure the people running this place really wanted it to be nicer. I hear it is good for sporting events earlier in the day, so might try it one more time to see if I can give it a higher rating.
Review Source:This place was ok. Â It was a little on the run down side but the beer was cheap and they served it in huge glasses. Â Yay. Â The service was decent too. Â We were there for darts night and that looked pretty fun. Â The atmosphere all around was cool. Â I may go back if I don't have any alternatives.
Review Source:The people here are degenerates with no energy, the owner is a high strung dude, who treats his fairly attractive wife who bartends like she's a piece of his property.
BUT Hands down Grade A 5 star top notch bar food. Â The burgers are the best in Southern California....big juicy and succulent! Â The Steak wedge fries are crispy and moist with a nice salty spice added. Â Everything on the menu is delicious
The Scooners (which look like Glass Chalices from say The Last Supper) of beer are always ICE COLD.
The food and Scooner 5 star, the people and ambiance 1..
I guess if you want the Skyy bar, you should drive to L.A.
If you want to go where everyone knows your name, this is the place. The owners of this place live locally, and they love their patrons. There is never an empty schooner when you are watching the game, and there is ALWAYS a game on here. THe bar is clean, drinks are priced nicely, and the food is the best pub fare you can buy in town.
To top all of that off, they support local cancer charities, and will be the first to put and end to irresponsible drinking.
I'm not sure what the other reviewers expected...Unless they are new to the bar scene and expect everything to look like someplace the Kardashians would frequent.
This place is hit-or-miss.
I should've missed this place tonight, instead of hitting it up. I have no idea what happened to this place. There was a lot of people here tonight, but it looks like a lot of leftovers from the land that time forgot, up in this here mug.
I guess people in the SCV are drifting over to Origami, Salt Creek, and any other place near the Valencia Town Center.
It got so bad here tonight that my friend Melissa, who came here separately with another friend before me and my ka-rew swung by, said she was going to head on over to Winston's. Â (Uh, read my review about Winston's and you'll understand my dumbfounded reaction to her comment.)
There's always someone puking right outside also. What gives with this place? It attracts people who don't know their threshold? People who just want to get thrashed so they can make a public display of themselves and look like me a few weeks ago? (Oops, I wasn't supposed to mention that.) Â Ok, I've already said too much! Â Must...abort...now.
I say PEAAAACE! to the Tailgate. It'll be a while before I'm back again.
(Oh, and btw....draft beer is $4.75 here.)
