Took a group of 5 people from out of town to Takodas & its usually good food & service but on the afternoon of 6/8..not the case. They were short staffed and sloooooow and noncommunicative & unapologetic about all of it......annoying.
We werent even in a huge rush but when it takes 45 min to get 3 Bloody Marys and a beer....not good. And we waited another 30 min to get lunch. Thats not even my complaint....my complaint is the lack of communication. If youre out of vodka or V8, just tell us so we know and dont sit there wondering if weve been forgotten. The waitresses that day were clearly not the A team, but seriously....just communicate and people will be WAY more understanding and tip you better;)

Went here for lunch today. The food was very tasty ( I had the steak sandwich with sweet potato fries) and our waitress was very friendly . Sat on the patio with awesome views of the mountains. A great place to relax, have a glass of wine or beer and enjoy life! Will definitely be back for more.

My wife and I enjoy the food and the service. Always greeted with a smile and the owner always makes a point to visit the table to make sure the food and service is outstanding. Reasonable prices and a great view of the hills and mountains. During the summer live entertainment is available.

Have been coming here since they opened. Close to home so we had high hopes for a good 'local' bar. Nicely decorated. Good selection of drinks. Food was not so good the first year or so. I'd have to say that the food has changed big time though. So much so that we now have several favorites. Their bison burgers, wings and nochos are right on. Music on a weekly basis. No cover. Local bar / restaurant with a mix of blue & white collar crowd. Not a young, hipster joint.

We went there for lunch and asked for a water and beer and then were going to order lunch. Waitress never brought the drinks and we ended up walking out. They had a fund raiser going on and people were coming in after us and getting drinks and waited on. What a terrible way to run a business, I won't recommend this place to anyone.

Nice local place with a great view of the front range and a pretty decent buffalo burger. The service was good and the waitstaff was attentive.

The service was friendly and quick.

The food was okay - i think I just ordered the wrong thing. I split a Turkey Burger with Sweet Potato fries with a friend. The fries were very good. The Turkey burger was a little dry and it was served on a thin multigrain bun. So it was low cal but it fell short of the mark for me. Our friend ordered the Buffalo burger and this is what I should have ordered. It was juicy and well cooked and the little taste was very good.

My advice is get a real burger (beef or bison) when you go don't worry about counting calories and you'll be just fine.

I will be back to try something different.

I stop by here quite often for a quick, light dinner and to watch a game. I would normally give this place 3 stars for "OK," but I tried the buffalo burger and, Wow! It was great. I will eat it again. 4 stars

I had not been here for a while, so I stopped by for a beer, a burger, and to catch the end of the football game. My beer was good (it could have been a little colder), the glass was chilled, and the waitress was friendly. That is one thing that has been consistent in all my visits to Takoda, the waitstaff is top-notch.

I had a Turkey burger with Sweet Potato fries and it was good. The Turkey burger was decent and had an affordable price. The Sweet Potato fries were excellent. My buddy had a Bison burger with pepper jack cheese, and I bummed a bite off of him. It was outstanding (juicy, flavorful, delicious), and it made my regret ordering the Turkey. On previous visits, I have had decent appetizers and a good wet burrito.

I love this place! They have good food and good bands. I like the salmon salad. Their burgers and sandwiches are good too. The owner is very friendly and he always stops and talks to us. The bands are great. I love "Bad Candy" but sometimes they turn up a little too loud. You just need to tell them to turn it down a little. They have wonderful harmony. They play 70's and classic rock. The place is full of nice people. They have a variety of bands. I also like Paul Glover. He plays more soft 70's music with classic rock and Beatles music too. Check it out....it's a great place with a beautiful view of the mountains from the deck.

My family and I checked this place out recently because we had a http://Restaurants.com $25 gift certificate. The food was decent, it's more of a burger and beer place. The menu is small so check it out online first. We went during the week and the outside patio was packed. We decided to sit outside because the inside music was deafening. Just be advised that this is a local biker hangout. Everyone eating there was really friendly though. My two main objections was the food was too expensive for what you got, and the service was really slow. Not a place I would recommend for children. We probably won't return unless we are looking for a full bar.

FINALLY a fun local tavern in Parker. So nice to have a spot with great bar food and friendly service. This place gives you an upbeat, casual vibe with happy locals hanging out. Its also a place you could bring the kids for a bite. They've got great cheesesteaks and awesome views. Definitely a new favorite in Parker....so nice to have here in Parker!

Stopped in for dinner this evening. Very casual. Excellent view of the front range from their patio. Food is okay. Service is some of the worst I've ever experienced. Took over an hour to get our meal. All other tables around us were having the same problem. One group had to wait so long to get their food, that by the time they got it they had them box the food because they had to leave. Management needs to fix their service issues! Definitely don't plan on returning. Way better options around.

I like Takoda Tavern. It's within walking distance to my house so I like to walk to and from during times that the weather is nice. Meet my friends pretty regularly here. Food is pretty good, service is decent, and Bob is a pretty chill owner. I met him the first time I went there, and it's nice when he is there. Live bands and typically a nice crowd that is there. Bikers do come here, but they are nice, so I think it's nice diversity. :0) I think it is a nice "family" bar scene... people do bring their kids sometimes earlier in the day or on certain nights, and that makes it kind of nice especially since the kids behave!! They aren't wild or anything. But it is amusing to see people bring their kids to the bar with them. lol

I know that people in my family have come before and they didn't have a good time... I say they just hit it up on a bad night! TRY OUT TAKODA'S! I always have a good time when I go.

My husband and I visited a few weeks ago and I don't plan to return. I had a regular burger but didn't eat more than a bite because it wasn't good. Another dreaded pre-formed hockey puck burger. Service wasn't good on either visit. Not bad, but not good either.

Such a shame being so close to my house!

Seems to be busy every time I'm there, though.

Takoda is a nice local joint to hit on occasion. Somehow I always show up on the day that there's no happy hour! GUH. That's my fault though. I've been there a few times and it's been packed everytime. The food is the usual bar food. I wouldn't say it's an oustanding place, but it beats the restaurant chains! Spent the 4th there watching fire works. Had an amazing view of the city and were able to snatch up some great seats on the patio. Me likes.

We were excited that anew sports bar was opening in Parker. We decided to stop in to try the food and see if it was a worthy restaurant to visit during football season. Takoda's offers standard sport/tavern food with little flare. I ordered the smothered burrito an was surprisingly disappointed. How can you mess up a burrito? Instead of a traditional tortilla, some kind of herb or herb and vegetable wrap covered the strange sandwich. To top off our experience, the beer selection was paltry and atmosphere was too loud for casual conversation.

I have been to this place several times since it opened. The first time the owner Bob came and introduced himself the food was great, service ok, thought we'd be back.. the next several times we went on a Friday or Saturday night and it was so packed there were no table available so we left... Now we've found the perfect time to go. Sunday afternoons! You can get a table on the patio with the best view of the entire front range and live music from 2-6. Bikers like to congregate, but I wouldn't call it a biker bar.. or if it is you'd have to call it a family biker bar as there were folks there aged 4 to a 92.

Food is always excellent. I've had the burgers several times, always cooked to order, salads great, wings yummy, the best onion rings in all of Parker.. and believe me I think I've tried them all.

Check it out... some of the reviews here are from the beginning days when they were brand new and still training staff. Give this nice locally owned joint another shot, you won't be sorry.

Takoda is located in the new shopping strip off Parker Rd. and Hess... Kinda far from the center of town of Parker. The bar itself isn't big, but very roomy inside. Went there last Saturday and it wasn't crowded at all, maybe about 40 people the most. The service was good, the young waitress girl was very attentive and friendly. The bar itself inside is very clean and well-decorated - not as shaggy-looking and dirty as Celtic and Tailgate. Everything inside is pretty new since it's a newer bar in Parker. Had great selection of beers, as well as martinis and other mixed drinks. I heard the food is pretty good bar food but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Will definitely return.

This place has been playing to good crowds since opening. Can be bustling, weekend bands. Low prices, good food. A nice change of pace for Parker. Yes, has had service issues. Hello, the place is packed. Getting better all the time. Chili's? Nationwide. Takoda? One family working hard to pull it off in an uneasy economy. Takes guts.

Not impressed. I wish I could rate this higher since it's a non-chain, locally-owned neighborhood tavern, but there were many things wrong with our dinner there tonight:

1) The noise: It sounded like everyone in the place was yelling due to the metal ceilings that reflected the noise. I had to YELL across the table to talk to my mom and YELL again at the waitress to tell her my order. I know it's a "tavern", but really...

2) The door: Yes, we sat closer to the door (since there were no other tables available), but people kept going in and out and in and out and each time our table received a freezing blast of air. People really need to design restaurants better so that doesn't happen. Instead of sticking the band in the cold corner, they sat 1/2 of the patrons there instead.

3) The service: We asked for 4 menus and silverware sets (for the whole family) when our waitress brought out 2 as we sat down. She never came back with either of those, and so we shared the menus. Not so bad, but that was the start. Then she forgot my sister's lemonade (maybe she couldn't hear the order?), didn't ask HOW I would like my burger cooked, brought 1 water to the table minutes before the rest of the waters, and took a long while to bring us the check at the end of it. My dad's fish and chips came out a good 10 minutes after everyone else (ok, not a huge deal, but it's fish and chips). We witnessed a table get up and leave behind us due to the slow service.

4) The food: My bison burger was ok (a bit too cooked for my taste, but I didn't get an option - I would have voiced this if I could have been heard). My mom's BLT emphasized the L. And the fish, potato fries, and sweet potato fries looked and tasted like freezer food I could have heated up myself. :-

Two stars for the food (ok), the tasty sweet cranberry margarita I shared with my mom, and the HD flat TVs that allowed me to watch the Syracuse vs. UNC game ('Cuse won, booyah)!

It was just an awkward meal. I only ate a portion of my meal to get out of there and watch the rest of the game at home. That's not a feeling you want your guests to have.
