The Tavern

Nicely redone very bright.  I personally like it the way it was.  The new chandelier is kinda tacky.  Ok so I am a snob but there was a charm to the old decor.  I will admit it did need some updating and the plants needed trimming.  On the good side I do like how bright it is now.

The food was good but the bread was really yummy.  We shared a Croque Monsieur and a Short Rib Flatbread between three of us.  OH yes can't forget the Bloody Mary which was pretty dang good.  The sandwich is very rich but oh so yummy.  I could have done without the short rib flatbread.   I would have preferred  the mushroom flatbread.  We were all very full and satisfied.  The people next to us saw our Croque Monsieur and shared it between the two of them.  It looked more than enough.  

We were too full to have dessert.  However there were a few birthday parties in the new garden room and the cakes were so beautiful and the people said they were delicious.  They have a wonderful pastry chef there.  

This is a wonderful place for that special occasion especially if you order a special dessert.  Keep in mind the Tavern itself is very dark but the garden room is very bright.  It can get expensive but it is the Broadmoor after all.

I previously wrote a review for this place thinking it was a different place I had checked into in the same week; I hope it didn't affect them!

Regarding the actual restaurant that is "The Tavern," I really enjoyed my experiences there. I love the Broadmoor: it is a beautiful resort with stunning grounds, immaculate everything, with three golf courses, shopping, and numerous excellent restaurants, including The Tavern.

It is a little darker inside than I'd like, but they do have the option to sit in their gorgeous garden area, which is semi-outdoorsy feeling and well illuminated. Overall, they have a classic, dark tavern-style setting, which is obviously to be expected given their name!

I ordered the Wagyu beef burger (high-end beef ground into a burger almost seemed criminal, but it was SO worth it!). Juicy, tasty, delicious. Yum! The servers were friendly, the service was quick and timed appropriately (given that we were a very large party, that's a plus), and we left satisfied.

Hosted a graduation dinner for 10 recently. Garden room is very nice, not too fancy. Service excellent.  Nice wine list. All enjoyed steak and fish entrees. Oysters fresh and cold, salads tasty and a bit different.
