Went for lunch with a few co-workers when we all had a craving for a good burrito. We were not let down. The steak burrito was not too greasy like several other local places, and the steak had a nice, but not overpowering, flavor to it. Overall the atmoshpere was not bad, the service was friendly and the burrito was a good size.
Review Source:This is a good lunch stop with a pretty big menu. Â The enchiladas were very good, and the salsa was fresh and had something of a bite. Â I'll definitely be coming back to try some of the dishes that I have never had. Â Lots of parking on the street right outside of the door because of bridge construction. Â $19 for lunch for two.
Review Source:Went in for breakfast once, and lunches and a rare dinner. Good, authentic, and tasty. The place is mostly booths, definitely average decor inside but the food is steamy hot and spicy enough.
They also do the Aurora festivals with a simplified menu. That fare is excellent, They usually have a line at their tent. I always get in that line during the festivals.
If I ever needed a catered event with Mexican food I'd call them first.
I had high hopes for this place but would not eat here again. The guacamole was 'cut' with sour cream, and I hate that. The huevos mexicanas were cooked hard and had zero onions in them, only peppers and tomatoes. The beans were very dissapointing, they tasted like canned. The margarita tasted strongly like lime aid. None of the salsas were particularly tasty, although they tried as 3 were provided: a green, a red, and an enchilada style.
Review Source:We found this restaurant on http://restaurants.com and went there to take advantage of the $25 gift cert for $10 offer. The restaurant is right downtown Aurora a couple of blocks from the Hollywood Casino. We walked in at 6:30pm on a Sat night to a restaurant that was less than half full. One of the servers told us to sit anywhere we wanted. From the time we sat down it was almost 10 minutes until anyone came over and brought us menu's or took a drink order; in the meantime there was a large table next to us covered with the dirty plates, glasses, and remnants of a previous parties meal. Finally we were brought menu's, ordered 2 margaritas which were quite good after we stirred them to mix up the ingredients. We also ordered some refried beans and guacamole to go with our chips and both were good. We did run out of chips at one point and have to search our waitress down to get some more. Also, the margaritas took 10 minutes to receive from the time we ordered them. We ordered our entrees consisting of steak fajitas and chicken flautas; again both were very good, we had no issue with the food quality. The real problem was the person the staff allowed to sit at the large table next to us and drink water and watch the soccer match on the television. As we finished our meal he turns to us and asks us for money to buy some food or if we can buy him some food!!!! I expect a certain amount of this to occur while walking down the street but not while I am seated in a restaurant enjoying a meal. Its not like this person just walked in and was passing through; he was seated at a table interacting with the 2 waitresses who were giving him glasses of water which tells me the restaurant endorses this type of behavior. We were looking for our waitress to get our check but again she couldnt be found so we had to go to the register to get our bill and settle up so we could leave. While the food was good there are many other mexican restaurants with much better service where I will not be accosted to buy someone a meal.
