My family have gone to this restaurant for years, loved their soups. Today my mother picked up a big container, the largest they have, to go. We have for years loved the lemon rice soup but today it had a nasty taste that leaves an after taste in your mouth. They didn't give my mother a receipt, they claim they never do, but I have gotten receipts before. I called to let them know about the soup so my mother could get her money back or exchange the soup and right away they got super offensive not even wanting to listen to me. The lady was very rude! I told her to keep the money and hung up. I will be informing everyone I know about this! I will never return to Ted's. Tom's down the street is better!!

Showed up with a group for breakfast and the food was good, arrived quickly and the staff was very accommodating! I don't get to area much so unfortunately I won't be going there very often. I do see going there the next time I'm in the area though.

I have been coming to Ted's for years now. I love everything it has to offer. I have only come here for breakfast and had only had the breakfast dishes. I usually get the skillets. My favorite skillet however is the steak skillet. They load it up and I can barely get through half of it. Tastes fine to save it for later and microwave. Great family friendly neighborhood restaurant.

I give them 5 stars for a great meal. I had filet mignon, eggs, and hash browns. This place actually seasons their steak, which is worth 4 stars in itself. It's not a fancy place but its not a truck stop either. Oh the prices are reasonable. This is my 4th time going. I usually go with my uncle because he loves it but today I went alone because I wanted a hearty meal without any hassle.  Their tbones are what he normally gets and they are enormous. Ive never aeen anyone finish one in one sitting. Their servers are excellent and have conversation for the customers too. It's a real down home spot with great portions. If a buddy wanted a steak for breakfast this is where I would take him!

Great place to get a solid, cheap meal.  In and out quickly and fantastic prices.  Cal City at its finest.

This place is amazing. Went here for the first time the other day and I still can't stop thinking about it. My mouth just watered talking about it again. They have an amazing wait staff. Every single person made this an amazing experience. I walk in to the restaurant to a big smile on this guys face and treated us like family right away. We sat down to a hilarious waitress and then ordered an all meat skillet and my girl had a patty melt. We had so much food! For amazing prices. Skillet came with cakes or toast and melt came with fries and soup. All for under 20$ and 2 drinks. Under 20$ for all that food was crazy awesome. I'm a Teds fan now till forever.

Love this restaurant. Great service and food and the prices were much lower than I thought they would be. Very big portions for the price. They make you feel like family. Servers were very good with my kids who were exhausted from traveling. Will definitely eat there when I am in the area again.

If you want a nice old-fashioned blue-collar neighborhood diner in which to indulge yourself in artery-thickening goodness, you cannot beat Ted's.

We went here yesterday morning and this morning for breakfast as we were staying nearby. Obviously the first trip brought us back for the second. Yesterday I ate the stuffed cinnamon french toast, topped with strawberries and a mountain of whipped cream. It was a layer three inches thick, and I had to stop our waitress, to which she replied "that's it?" I got some nice, crispy-but-not-burnt bacon on the side.

The second day I had the polish scrambler: (real) kielbasa, sauerkraut, hash browns, eggs and cheese, served with a side of fantastic pancakes. A new combination for me, but it was amazing. And I'm still full as I write this, three hours after the fact.

They kept your coffee cup full and the waitresses (these are not "servers;" they're the real deal - total old school) had a kindly smart-assed way about them that was pure Chicago. And they were total pros and it was clear they were proud of their profession. Our waitress on the second day had worked there for twelve years. They knew most of the clientele by name - it was that kind of place.

If you find yourself in the far south edge of Chicago, you owe it to yourself to check it out. Plus, you're right down the street from one of Al Capone's former homes.

Staff is great. I love going to this place. Breakfast is great. I love their chocolate lovers french toast. If you arrive b4 11 they give you a complimentary orange juice which is awesome. Dinner is also good. Its fairly priced. I want to say about $10 per person. Good for groups.

A great place for early breakfast or a late dinner. It has everything from quick and tasty salads to delicious chicken dinners. Great for family and date dinners.
