After Terrazzo located across the street inside the Benjamin Knox Art Center closed, Â not long after it suddenly reappeared here on the other side of the street in a strip center. Â The reviews for the original location are located here;

Just to check it out I stopped by for a coffee during the day. Â Service was friendly, atmosphere was odd being kind of sunk off in the corner of a bland shopping center. Â I took a gander at the red wines and I did not recognize any of the labels at all. Â That can be a good thing as it's possible to find something unique. Â Asked if they had a sommelier and she didn't seem to know what that was. Â
If this looks like it's located in a renovated previous pizza restaurant that's because it is. Â There used to be a Mr. G's Pizza right here in the same place. Â It closed like over a year ago I believe. Â While the coffee and service were nice, if out wine tasting I think I'll just go for the proven nice atmosphere and drop by Veritas just up the street as that is truly where those in the know hang out. Â Sadly they do not have live music like the original location that closed used to have and the outdoor "patio" seating is a joke unless you like sipping wine you have never heard of and staring at parked cars in a parking lot. Â I'll pass.
Interesting experience here...
The live music was fantastic, BUT the hostesses/waitresses took FOREVER. My friends and I ordered Frappes/Smoothies, but received them 25-35 minutes later. I guess this was because the people drinking alcohol were guzzling it down too fast for the waitresses to keep up.
Will return soon!
I love terrazzo! The service is wonderful, staff is very friendly and personable. I found them to be knowledgeable about the cool / unique selection of wines and beers. My favorite thing is asking the bartender to select a wine for me to try. The food thankfully isn't fried bar food- they have paninis, cheese plates, hummus and pita, etc... Â It's not your typical college hangout, which I was thrilled to find. It's a great spot for those who are trying to get away from the students and enjoy a quiet drink. The patio is the best in town and if you can make it to hear a live band sometime I'd highly recommend jumping on that. During the day you can check out the Knox gallery attached.
Review Source:Terrazzo is a relaxing wine bar that's a great place to discover new wines and visit with friends. Â Try one of their wine flights to sample something different or enjoy one of your favorites. Â
I've been a few times when I've been in town. Â If the weather's nice, sit outside by the old caboose. Â It's queit and enjoyable. Â Keep an eye out for their live music offerrings too!
We went here with a couple friends and tried to order 2 chicken paninis and they didn't have any. We then tried to get turkey Paninis and we were rudely told they only had one. We realized then that gourmet means microwaved! We then attempted to order a bottle of wine only to be told they were out of the kind we wanted. After 3 more tries we finally resorted to asking what bottles they did have. The wine we eventually had was amazing but not amazing enough to make up for the lack of options. We will never return.
Review Source:Great Atmosphere and ambiance. The prices were very reasonable on both Wine and Coffee! The food was delicious and presented in a very elegant way. Food
Prices were average and left nothing to be desired. Kim waited on us and was AMAZING. I at times forgot I was in College Station.. With the prime location on a hill and the view it seems like a quaint space to "get away" for a glass of wine, cup of coffee, and delicious desert.
I like the atmosphere. I like that I've been a couple of times and there is an artist at work in the attached gallery. I like that a couple of girlfriends and I can have a glass of wine, speak over subtle music, and feel somewhat removed from the town of belt buckles, boots, and BBQ.
I wish there was more of a finger foods selection. They could easily out shine "that other" wine bar if they expanded their menu.
I swear, every time I go to this place it seems like a different institution. Maybe that's because it is kind of generic, and the vibe of the crowd goes a long way in determining the way the place seems.
That's not a bad thing, mind you. Many times the crowd can be pretty cool.
Except, of course, when they aren't.
