This place is definitely something you would expect to be in San Marcos. It started with the concert getting started much later than advertised and they didn't even start accepting tickets to get in until it was almost 30 minutes after the official start time. I could barely see the stage and it wasn't as crowded as it could be. From the second level, if you aren't on very inside rail you can't see the stage at all. The concerts might be pretty good if you get one of the reserved seats downstairs or standing room right behind it but for such a small venue you should get a decent view anywhere. The drinks weren't too pricey. All in all. if you have to go to a concert in San Marcos it's okay but definitely not worth traveling to from the surrounding areas.
Review Source:I really enjoyed all the times I came here! I come from an urban city where I hear mostly pop/ techno music, but this place got the country girl out of me! Â
They do have a variety of performances, so be sure to check out their website to see which night venues and performances you'd like best.
You wouldn't believe you're at a venue on the Square in San Marcos while enjoying a cold one and listening to Texas Country.
I've been to numerous concerts at TMT and have never been disappointed in the sound, feel and stiff drinks this place gives me!
This past weekend I saw Ray Wylie Hubbard, a Texas music legend, who played for a small crowd of about 50. He mentioned numerous times that this was one of his favorite venues to play at not because the crowd was huge but because the helpful crew in the back, friendly owners and acoustics of the place. He was not the only person who mentioned the amazing staff & acoustics, pretty much everyone I have seen there, including 2 MR Fest Music Festivals have stated how much they enjoy TMT.
With 3 huge bars throughout TMT, you're never too far away from a stiff drink. Upstairs they've got a balcony that lines the edge of the building and looks down onto the dance floor.
I wouldn't say the drinks are a steal or anything seeing that their wells were on "special" for $5 each (compared to some places on the Square or in Austin where you can get a pitcher of a well drink for $5) but the atmosphere of this place will have me coming back over & over again.
