Thames St International Yacht & Athletic Club

A small bar with a "Cheers" feeling.  Average priced drinks and 2 bartenders on duty despite the small size.  There is also a pool table.

Very nice yacht reading material in the VERY clean bathrooms (for a bar).

Not a bad spot for a quick beer but not a "party bar".

You wouldn't think this was a bar by the name of it but that's just what it is. Literally stumbled upon it while walking down Thames St. and looking to kill a little time before a dinner reservation.

Super nice bartender and a decent selection of beers on tap. Reasonably priced at $4.50 each.

I'd classify it as kind of a dive bar (not a bad thing) with a random mix of patrons (locals + visitors) but everyone was friendly. Nice pool table with games for $1.

Definitely would come back next time I'm in Newport and looking for a low key beer or 2.
