Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery

Been here 6-8 times since my original review in April 2012. Went here mid-Saturday afternoon with a female friend who'd never been but heard lots of good things from me and other friends of hers. It was my first visit in perhaps 6 months.

Greeted by 3 girls at the podium and immediately seated at a high top table in the bar area right by the podium. Server was pleasant, took our drink orders, and allowed us time to review the menu. While I have the menu practically memorized (regular at another location) my friend has a special diet so must choose carefully.

Food ordered (two black bean burgers) and delivered promptly. Our food and sides were quite good.

This is where things went downhill. Server checks on us, we're about 90 % finished. That was last we saw of her for at least 15 minutes. We had a tight schedule and wanted to get out of there pronto. Keep in mind the place was pretty dead, it's doubtful this girl had any other tables.

It gets worse. There was no one at the podium for 10 minutes. They were fortunate no one walked in. We could have easily called and waved the girl over and asked her to find our sever but no hostess. Where were the girls? Taking a smoke break? Gossiping in the kitchen? Where was the manager? Your guess is as good as mine.

Needless to say when she finally stopped by there was some repercussions in our gratuity (still fairly generous).

Hopefully caught them on a bad day but the management needs to get a grip on this place. The contrast in service vs. the Allentown location is staggering.

I visited the Tilted Kilt for my boyfriend's birthday. We went on a Wednesday night with a group of ten. I was very surprised how accomodating they were for us - we were a big group to handle, and not everyone showed up at the same time [my one friend didnt show up until 30 mins into our visit]. Our waitress was very pleased to help us by moving and adding tables and chairs to accomodate all of us. She didn't seem annoyed or flustered at all.

I did not know what to expect from this place before we went so I browsed some Yelp reviews to get some idea about the place. I must say my experience was not what I was expecting - many of the reviews on here are completely different than my experience. Everyone at my table was satisifed with the food they ordered, and our drinks were great and cameout in a timely manner.

As for the atmosphere - there were several TVs all playing different sports, which was great for the guys who were interested. And the decor was interesting - my friends and I enjoyed reading all the dirty, funny quotes on the walls. The place had a decent crowd for a Wednesday night, mostly men [obviously]. I really enjoyed our waitress - she was very friendly and courteous, she would sit down at our table and have conversations with all of us --- not necessarily in a flirtacious way [i mean her job is to be flirty, but she was respectfully flirtacious .... if that makes sense haha].

And since it was my boyfriends birthday, we had to do the whole embarassing birthday thing in the restaurant. The Tilted Kilt's take on birthday celebrations was great. They have two of the girls come out with a 'BJ Shot' and the birthday boy has to take the shot with his hands behind his back. And i must say the shot was a hefty size.

It was a first visit for me and all of my friends who came out that night, and we all decided we will be making more visits to the Kilt.

My only complaint, which everyone else has noted, is that their parking is absolutely aweful !!!! And the place wasn't even that crowded. We parked across the street in one of the mall lots. Which is why I cannot give this place 5 stars. but food, service, and atmosphere was great!!

Tartan version of Hooters.

I have to say that the servers' garb is much more exciting and updated than Hooters though. But. This place is basically the same thing. Big TVs playing sports, nachos, cold beers and girls in tiny outfits. Great stop to watch the Phils play though and hangout with the guys and the girls while drinking the coldest, iciest beers ever! The food is whatever. Nothing special. But overall, there is never a wait and always something to watch whether its on TV on walking around.
