I live close to this Deli and when they first opened the hoagies were superb. Sarcones rolls are the best and they used to pack the hoagies with plenty of delicious meat. It was a regular for me when they first opened but I stopped going there since the management was so discourteous. I recently gave it another chance and nothing has changed about the service from management. I ordered an Italian special during off peak hours and my hoagie was ready in minutes. Then the manager yells to one of the help to come up front to ring me up, then yells to another younger guy (presumably a family member) to ring up my order appearing that he didn't trust the help to touch the cash register. The help looked fearful of the miserable manager which is an awful display in front of customers. The hoagie was much less than my expectations with very little meat for $9. The manager/owner needs to go to customer service school or buy a personality. I'm surprised that very few of these reviews point out this disappointing service. I wlll not return due to this poor service.

Love this place! The service is friendly and fast and the food is delicious! I recommend the Chicken Cutlet Italiano hot sandwich.

Sarcone's bread, fresh meats, sharp cheeses, south Philly sandwich sense...this place has it all.  I'm lucky to have this place not far from my house.    If there's a better deli within 5-10 miles, I'd like to hear about it.  This place is like Primo's without the hands-off, franchise feel.
Listen closely now, they have 6 or 7 different types of Italian hoagies.  Just Italian hoagies.  They also have other types like turkey, ham, etc.  But that kind of focus on the Italian which is, after all, the star of the hoagie show should give you a sense for the expertise these folks possess.
All of the Italians are good to great.  I usually get the Cut Above Italian or the Sicilian because they both have the sharp provolone.  But you can ask for sharp on any of the other hoagies too.  Other favorites of mine fall under the Center City or even suburban categories as opposed to South Philly.  They are the ham and cooper sharp and the chicken salad which I usually get with provolone, lettuce, and onions.
Like any good hoagie shop in this region, they feature Herr's products with more varieties than you'd find at your typical corner deli.  They also have some store brand old-timey sodas like orange cream, black cherry, root beer, etc.  Those are pretty good.
There are some other things in the case like meatballs and such but although I've been to this place about 30 or 40 times, I've never tried most of them.  They look and smell good though.  Hard to get past the hoagies.
This place gets busy so place your order well in advance of your scheduled pick up time and be mindful of things like eagles kickoff time.  I'm also not so sure of their hours so check before you get yourself all worked up thinking about the Italian deliciousness.  minor note: the place is small and people can be idiots about where they stand or who's next so be aggressive or your wait can double sometimes.
If this place ever does sell franchise rights, I want some.
