Review Source:Fantastic coffee. Â Chilled-out atmosphere without pretension. Â I love the fact that I can look at the menu board and not get confused by coffee drinks named so esoterically that unless I am on the bleeding edge of 22 I feel clueless. Â You can get your favorite coffee or tea (and a few cold sodas) here and have a sitdown in the soft gloom and just. Â Relax. Â For a while. Â
There is no pressure here, and there is plenty to look at if you are more of a looker and less of a chatter. Â The building is very old, lovingly maintained and filled with small artworks and a sturdy set of bookshelves that house roughly a thousand interesting books. Â Sit at a table at the front near the natural light of the windows. Â Sit at the back and listen to the conversations in the sofa pit next to yours. Â And there are always a few interesting types hanging about, if you are into people watching.
They do a brisk business, but they don't seem to deal in the same type of caffeine junkie that frequents the chain stores like Starbucks. Â People that go to Tongues go for the excellent coffee because they want to take the time to appreciate everything else that goes into it, not just the cream and sugar.
One of the few places in the world where I actually enjoy myself.
Was here yesterday with a friend. Loved it. The setup is nice with the chairs and living room type area. I really like how involved the owner is. He was chatting with us and seemed to really enjoy being there. They buy local coffee so that is a plus. I love the protein powder idea. They have an system where you can get your own coffee and just put money in the jar, don't have to wait in line. Great location too near some nice shops and restaurants. Will definitely return
Review Source:I'm a frequent patron of this business and there is a reason for that: I love their delicious drinks, the awesome staff, and the chill atmosphere. Their drinks are fantastic. They use Zingerman's Coffee (from Ann Arbor, also an awesome restaurant). If you would like protein in your drink, all you have to do is ask. The staff is very friendly and fun. The atmosphere of this place is so chill and relaxing. I've spent many of my trips playing Scrabble and hanging out with friends. I love Tongues!!!
Review Source:This little coffee shop is great, they use the same beans that zimmermans in Ann Arbor does for the wonderful coffee they serve. Everymonday night is open night mic where folks can come in and express there artistic talents. Tuesday nights is bike night bring your bike and cruise around downtown Wyandotte. Then  3rd fridays of the month they have an art show and there always something going on in Wyandotte 3rd fridays to enjoy. The Coffee drinks come in a large mug to enjoy and it alwats taste just rite. I get a capucino most times and tea on others. They have a piano that sits far back in the corner that many will just stop in and play from time to time.the building is very old and  gives you this 1920's feel .
Review Source:Excellent coffee, very welcoming friendly staff and a welcome change from other coffee shops in or around the area. Think Java Joe's but 21st century coolness. My friends and I frequent often. The owner's Tim and Greg have really done it right. The other staff there, Sam and Kelsey (yes! They share names AND remember yours..), in particular, are fantastic as well. Very modern, clean and a nice down home atmosphere, it's like having coffee with dear friends. The expresso...oh, dear, heaven in your mouth. They will add a shot of protein (35g!) to any latte or drink. Love, love, love it! Check it out! They promise not to disappoint.
