We were greeted right off the bat. Sat in a requested booth. Our waitress was a sweetie MoMo you should alll ask for her. The owner  came to our table to ask if all was OK and it was. The only complaint would be that I had the cheese and broccoli soup and it was way tooo think but delicious. Our piazza was perfect I loved the big chunks of veggies. You could taste what they are suppose to taste like....thank you for a pretty good restaurant.

After reading all the rave reviews, we decided to try this place. The service was prompt and attentive. The food quality was very average. This use to be a fast food restaurant and other previous restaurants that went out of business and still looks like a fast food joint. We started with the queso dip which was okay. My kids had the pizza which was burned on one side of the pizza, inedible.
I ordered the rib eye steak medium  with mashed potatoes, the steak was chewy and the mashed potatoes were bland. My husband ordered the full ribs with dry rub, the ribs were dry and burn't on the bottom. The fries looked like and tasted like they came out of a bag in the freezer. i believe the employees wrote good reviews to offset the bad ones filtered.

I wish I had spied Kris A's review before I swung by here. Upside is it prompted me to add him to my Yelp stalker list so I will not miss future heads ups. I thought he was already on it.

I wanted to like this place. I really did. The staff was super friendly. The service was cheerfully good. The prices (woohoo half off apps from 4-7) were decent. It's not a fricking chain. All good points. Sadly, not enough to overcome the uninspired type food.

The queso was good-ish. Very one note on the cheese but I actually liked the seasoned burger (it would have rocked with chorizo instead IMO) and the pico accent. Chips alongside it though were just so ummm generic and not exactly a huge portion to go with. Fried pickles were just ok chips with ranch, again nothing special at all. Nothing like some of the beer battered cravables I have found locally and at a much cheaper price.

She picked wrong, you say, hmmm not much more special to choose from on this particular menu though. The apps menu itself was pretty much your totally boring standards. Like they said to themselves, "Hey what does every other restaurant sell? Let's do that!". A few bar standards. some Italian, a potsticker option and hummus. Yeah that wide of a focus always means awesome. Mmmhmmm. It kinda made me flash mentally on TGI Fridays.

The mini loaf of bread with seasoned olive oil was a happy addition. Pretty tasty. Hard to mess up freshly baked carbs. I appreciated it though. It perked me up.

My husband had the pork tenderloin. The whte gravy needed a kick of tobasco or a sharper snappier pepper grind. The mashed potatoes were similarly just kind of blah. Veggies, not much to say there. Pork was well cooked, it just all needed some punch.

I went with the honey orange glazed chicken because it actually sounded more interesting (they promised zesty), it was something grilled to counteract the heavy apps and I wanted something to be able to reheat later as I was getting stuffed. That sweet potato casserole lured me, I confess. It was ok. Too sweet as the chicken was more sweet and less zest, so the sweet potato with it was just kind of overkill. My mistake, I really should know better as I am sensitive to sweet. The chicken was grilled very nicely though I will say.

Eh, it's not a bad place, I just wasn't dazzled.

ETA: Yeah I did not read the owner's bio before I wrote this review. His major experience was a TGI Friday's so I guess I was not too far off the mark. Yep, apparently you can tell where he was influenced.

Decided to try this place on a Friday afternoon because it was one we hadn't been to lunch at yet. The place has been remodeled and they did a really good job of covering up it's fast food roots. The service was prompt and attentive. The food quality was very good. I had the fish sandwich, a side of mac-n-cheese, and a bowl (they don't have cups) of clam chowder. The mac-n-cheese was a bit on the thick side (too much cheese?), but again the portions and quality were pretty good. The kicker is that nothing had any flavor. Everything was EXTREMELY bland. Extra salt and pepper only went half way to correct the situation.

It looked like they make a good stone-fired pizza, so I think I'm gonna go back and try one of those. Maybe it will be the redeemer. Until then, bring your own spices I guess...

There is absolutely no Mexican food in SEMI that is worth waiting for, period. We stopped by Los Palapas in Livonia and there was a line..we chuckled and said "Amazing..people are actually waiting for that?"

We went to Tony's instead. I had never been there before, my wife met someone there for lunch a few weeks back.

Place was busy, we were seated fast and the waitress was quick to get to the table and get our drinks going.

I was pleased to see the wood fired oven for the pizza and scoped out a few other people eating it. Looked good, like the kind I like. Thin, fresh, wood fired..

As we waited to order I looked around. Decorum seemed cheap and haphazardly done. The bar area was smack in the middle of the entry and near the kitchen, I think the place was poorly laid out...but, I wouldn't expect to post up at a bar like that at all. So no big deal to me.

I ordered a margherita  pizza with anchovies.

TONY'S MADE THIS PIZZA THE RIGHT WAY. LISTEN UP YOU BUDDYS PIZZA FANS, THIS IS HOW PIZZA IS SUPPOSED TO BE MADE!!!

The dough was perfect, the pie was cooked crisp on bottom, soft in middle, the bubbles were burnt. The ingredients were fresh, the anchovies were perfect, they nailed it!

My wife enjoyed her meal and the kids smashed their spaghetti.

Waitress was real slow getting my wife her second round and it tasted like urine, but that's what you get when you order Miller Lite on tap. My Fat Tire amber was cold and good. Waitress gave our daughter free refil of choch milk.

We noticed that the miller lite was more expensive than the Stella she had previously ordered and more than my Fat Tire..lol..wut?

Looking forward to going back. Maybe a takeout pie next..Prices on the pizza was a little steep, $11.00 for a 12" and $1.75 for the anchovies.

Glad we stopped by and didn't eat that expensive Mexican food cooked too fast and slopped on a plate.

We picked a rainy Monday to try the new Tonys kitchen restaurant on Plymouth rd in Livonia. What a pleasant surprise!  There have been three or four other restaurants to occupy this spot in the past, nothing took. Tonys will!  We were greeted by a young lady who opened the door for my wife  and I and welcomed us.  After checking out the vast menu we settled on the pizza. We ordered the BBQ chicken version which compared  favorably with Aubrey's in Northville. The pie was not slathered in BBQ sauce and was lite and tasty. We had a Greek salad before the pizza and it was delicious. Our waitress Tristen was well trained in the menu and very friendly. Tony himself stopped by to see if we were happy. We were. We will try other options on the menu in the immediate future. good luck to Tonys Kitchen and we will be back.

Read the article in the Livonia Observer about this new local restaurant.  So, we thought, why not give it a try?  We were pleasantly surprised.  Walking into a restaurant where you are greeted with an open door by a matre'd was the first difference.
The decor is pleasing and modern, with a few tv's. They have a bar and offer drink specials and happy hours.
The dishes are various, shaped, white china? And not your ordinary round or oval diner fare.
After we were seated, the matre'd took his time to welcome us and were encouraged to share any opinions we may have during the dinner,
Instead of a boring breadbasket, you are given a brick-oven bread with a bowl of seasoned olive oil.
I got the Southwest salad and chose the spicy ranch.  The salad had " hot" grilled chicken strips.  And the salad dressing was nice and spicy.  Sarah, our waitress, did recommend the avocado ranch after I was almost through, but will save that for next time.
Hubby had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with a side salad instead of the potato.  He thought it was very good for just a salad...tomatoes, croutons, and romaine lettuce.
The sandwich was on a ciabatta and I did sneak a bite.  The beef had a wonderful, rich beef flavor.  It was big enough for a half take away for tomorrow's lunch!
Did not get dessert, as we never do, but they have cake, cheesecake, pudding and all the goodies.
Tony even stopped by to shake hands and welcome.
Let's hope the friendly atmosphere remains. The brick oven pizza has me intrigued and will be my next visit as a pick up through their convenient drive-through.  Plus, it smelled yummy!
Do yourself a favor and enjoy a good, pleasant meal on Plymouth Rd.
