I took my family here on the night of the beer feast in July. We were in th area dr the feat as my elderly mother wanted to see placer vile as we were in the are for a wedding.
Nice. Decor good location, but that was all it had going for it.
I had the crispy calimari salad. It was a plank of over breaded gummy calimari steak n a bed of soggy salad greens with an insipid dressing. I was expecting crispy...nope.. And salad was use broadly here i would not have expected it to bee made from the greens used to sop up part of the grease from the deep fried thing they laid on it.
My parent had a pasta with peas prosciutto and chicken . He comment ..the chicken tasted water like it was boiled and the sauce was very salty..she made allowance for the prosciutto in her assessment.
My lounger daughter had a capers e salad which was okay in her book except the vinegar was not a balsamic but tasted like cheap wine vinegar. Her risotto she said was glue and tasteless which is hard to do if you used the wild mushrooms they advertised.
My elder daughter had as she put it something that had little  resemblance to food. Her comment was it tasted like A trader joes dinner. My mother liked her chicken but was ill later.
Basically not as good as Olive Garden much at a much higher price.
Avoid this place. The pasta at the yardhouse in roseville was far superior in every way...
Nice atmosphere, good service - food was not so good for either of us. Friend said "Never again" - I will wait awhile, maybe it was just a bad day. When Bricks first opened I tried it a couple of times, never wanted to go back - waited 6 months and they finally got it. Perhaps I will give it one more shot in six months when they get rolling.
Review Source:We four came in after Brewfest to find out the restaurant was closed. Â Disappointed, we talked to the chef, who happened to be by the door, and he took us in and seated us immediately. Â We had a great experience. Â Everyone was welcoming, the waitress was attentive, the food was very good, especially the appetizers, and you really should try the raspberry tiramisu. Â I will definitely return.
Review Source:We had lunch here when they first opened. Â It was very well prepared and the service was great. Â The Garlic Bread was delicious. The Asparagus soup was the best I have ever had. Â We went back a second time for desert and it was amazing. Â I believe this restaurant will do well. We will be back.
Review Source:Finally!!!!! I have been waiting for a real Italian restaurant to open up! I come from a big Italian family and I am very very critical of the food I eat and I expect when I go to a restaurant the food better be as good or better than mine. . . Well Torino's definitely hit the mark and the food was outstanding. The rosemary bread was delightful, my chicken parmesan was phenominal, my veggies were perfect, the rissoto was cooked perfectly, the chicken marsala was perfect! This restaurant is a little expensive, but I believe it is worth it!
Review Source:Placerville finally has an Italian restaurant, and it appears to be a winner! I had tonight's special Parmesan-crusted Alaskan halibut with spinach and asparagus risotto and it was delicious! I heard the Cheesy Garlic Bread, Chicken Marsala, pesto prawns, Spaghetti with meatballs, and the Eggplant were also good!
Matt was our server. He was courteous, friendly, and prompt. We got there pretty early for a Sunday (4:30pm) and it wasn't busy. There were a few people at the full bar and we were seated right away.
There is street parking and public city lot right next door.
All five of us plan on returning to try other dishes.
Went to Torino's for the first time with a date and was looking forward to a nice leisure dinner at the new Italian place in town. The waiter (Matt) was competent and did a great job. I ordered the linguine with clam sauce and my date ordered the linguine pesto and prawns. After ordering, the waiter immediately brought us some bread that was cold and just okay, and then within 2 or 3 minutes he brought us our dinner which was a lot quicker than we would have liked. The linguine and clam sauce tasted like linguine with plain creme and finely minced clams out of a can without the clam juice. Very bland. I don't believe it was a good value for $16.95. The linguine pesto with prawns was pretty good, although there was about a quarter of an inch of olive oil on the bottom of the plate which seemed pretty excessive. Not too bad of a value for $16.95.
So the next night I took my son and his friends there for pizza. Unfortunately they don't have pizza, but they do have some kind of cheese pizza bread. We had a different waiter this time, and unfortunately I don't think he has found his calling. I ordered the grilled salmon with spinach which came out luke-warm at best, however the salmon did have good flavor. After we finished our meals the waiter came out for the first time to check on us and asked how our meals were, and I told him that it was good but it was luke-warm which he then got a little defensive and said, "Well I brought it out as soon as it was cooked." So I just shrugged my shoulders and said, "okay."
As most are aware, the owner (Jose) also owns Bricks Restaurant and Cascada Mexican Restaurant, and has really done an outstanding job with them.
Unfortunately at this point in time, comparing the: quality of the food, value of the food, and some of the service issues, with Sacramento and the Bay Area, he's missed the mark on this one.
Could have done without the hair in my salad. The first one I found I thought was mine. Once I discovered the second one, it was over for me. The salad was expensive so I was expecting something great. It was mediocre at best. Chicken was dry and it had far to much dressing. My companions had similar comments about the food, although I believe their's came without hair, so that's something.
Review Source:Nice looking restaurant, but a little loud. Â Server was nice food came out fairly quickly. Â I had the beef tips mama rosa with tortellini and my girlfriend had the chicken Alfredo. Â The pasta tasted like your usual frozen stuff, beef an chicken were ok. Â Took quite a while to get our check. Â Definitely not worth the price. Â Will probably not come back.
Review Source:Like all of their other restaurants, I was really excited to try out this one. Main Street has not had a good Italian restaurant in quite some time and this owner's food is always top-notch.
As far as service goes, it was perfect. Angie is wonderful and our server was prompt.
In terms of the food it was very blah. The bread deserves 1 star and that instantly killed it for me. Italian restaurants should have great bread and it should come before the meal. At Torino's they serve it with the meal, unless otherwise requested, and it is cold, dry, and bland rye-like bread. When going to an Italian I expect warm, garlic, cheese, herbs, etc. on my bread. If they were to revamp the bread it would feel a lot more authentic and welcoming.
I had the caprese Panini for lunch and it was not the best. Again, the bread wasn't right on it and there was too much cheese and usually, I could never have enough cheese. It needed more flavor so I added pesto, and it helped it out. But! The fries were very good and had a lot of flavor.
As far as décor, it was absolutely beautiful! I loved the deep blue theme and low lighting. It was very romantic and comfortable.
We went with high hopes as Placerville has needed a quality Italian restaurant for years. We also loved the other ventures of the owners (Los Pinos and Bricks are our favorites) and expected similar quality. We were left disappointed however. We sat in the chairs next to the bar by the door and realized quickly this wasn't the place to be when staff took a long time to either acknowledge us or serve us once we did order. The cigarette smoke from the bar next door kept coming in every time a patron opened the door to enter. To be fair the food came out fairly quick but the drinks took forever. When the peach mojito was delivered, it tasted so strong that my wife could hardly drink it. I ordered a beer but was not brought or offered a chilled glass to let it breathe. Then came the calamari, which was good but the portion a little small. The entrees came next and these were perhaps the most disappointing. Our pasta was bland and tasted like clams and cream were poured over the linguine with nothing else. My wife's' chicken Alfredo had bits of chicken that appeared to be steamed and lacked any seasoning. I thought if I'm going to consume extra calories it won't be with this food. We hardly ate any of our food. No one asked how it was when they came to clear the table, just whether we wanted boxes. When we said no, they left with the half eaten food and asked nothing. The bill totaled $65 and I absolutely hate to pay a lot of money for poor food. Too bad cause I love their other places. I guess I will have to frequent their other restaurants instead.
Review Source:Gigi & I ventured into Placerville's newest restaurant this afternoon, having given them about 10 days to go through their soft opening and "shakedown cruise." We loved it!
Jose, who also owns the restaurants Bricks and Cascada here in town (and others elsewhere!), has done it again! He is a real pro!
We also had the pleasure of spending time with Manager Angela, Chef Will, headwaiter Donald and his faithful assistant Roberto (at 21, his 1st day on the job!).
Although Gigi & I each just had salad (Balsqamic Blue Wedge and Arugula & Fennel) and antipasti (Calamari and Sicilian Scampi), all four were excellent and more than filling! Â Not to mention a little delicious Windwalker Chardonnay (local to our area) along the way.
When friends come to town, the little town of Placerville now has seven restaurants on Main Street alone that we'd be proud to take them to, not counting the usual assortment of coffee shops and fast food joints. And that's seven more than when I first moved here 37 years ago!
So add Torinos Italian Restorante to your list of "Things to do When in Placerville CA." Â
All the best!

Any place that gets calamari right has my vote. We had lunch there today and the crispy calamari salad was fantastic. Fresh spring greens, tomatoes and thinly sliced red onions dressed in a delicious vinaigrette, all topped with a perfectly cooked calamari steak. The calamari was tender and coated with a crisp, flavorful breading.
The truffle oil fries are delicious. My husband had the gourmet panini and raved about it. The vegetable panini got equal accolades from my mom. I can't wait to go back and sample their pasta!
It's a lovely space, with tasteful decor. The tables aren't crammed together, which is nice. The service is great, attentive without hovering.
I have a new favorite place!
Arugula and Fennel Salad was perfect.
Black Truffle Fries were thin and flavorful.
Wine selection is fun and delicious.
Pork Tenderloin was delicious and Veal Piccata was very well done.
Flourless Chocolate Cake was decent.
Limoncello was a first for me, and I was super impressed.
Some improvements need to be made, perhaps plating design and lighting in dining room, but overall we were very impressed with this new addition to Placerville.
