Located on the first floor, off of the atrium lobby of the Renaissance Waverly Hotel. http://www.yelp.com/biz/… Went on a Sunday around 6pm, it was a little crowded from the Shag/West Coast Swing dance convention but found couch seating in the back. Our server, Mike? was attentive at first then would dissappear for long periods of time. What seems to be the norm at dance event hotels, the staffing is sparse, they must not think that we eat and drink and they are the closest food in the area. Â
We had a party of 9. Drinks came fairly quickly but the food took forever, they were short staffed, different food came from 4 different kitchens so thus everyone was served at different times. I ordered the onion soup, $5 and the mushroom pizza, $12 and a cranberry juice and ice tea. The onion soup was more like a tomatoe vegetable soup but the pizza with 6 slices was excellent. Porcini mushrooms and a thin crust. Left $40, knowing it was overpaying but didn't want to hassle for change. Others ordered the manicotti, looked good, calimari was ample and not rubbery, the polenta didn't look appetizing, not presented well but heard it was tasty. Hamburger, mozzerella and tomatoes and a veg vinegrette salad. Â
Loved the ambiance of dark leather banquettes and sheer maroon drapes hanging everywhere to seperate the areas.
So the service and food is slow, plan to allot a lot of time.
