So disappointed. Â We went here on a recommendation that they had delicious roast beef poboys. Â We arrived about 5 pm on Saturday. Â The bar was nice enough. Â I proceeded to the back to place my order. Â We got 2 roast beef poboys, an oyster poboy, and 12 chicken wings. Â I asked the gentleman who took my order if they offered a military discount. Â He laughed and said not for an order that big. Â He did tell me that they might offer me a military discount at the bar when we ordered our beers. Â I didn't know my order was that big. Â I'm still confused about whether or not the actually offer a military discount. Â Â
So, off to the bar I go. Â There were about 5 people sitting at the bar drinking. Â I stood at the bar waiting...and waiting...and waiting. Â I don't know if they didn't like the way I looked, but none of the 3 individuals working the bar even acknowledged me standing there with money in hand. Â They did find time to talk to each other and the 5 other individuals already sitting there though. Â Ok, so I reached up and grabbed 2 straws and some napkins and walked back to my table. Â We just drank water because at that point, I had no intentions of spending 1 penny more then I had to at that bar. Â
One would hope that my disappointment would end with the poor service. Â Alas, that is not the case. Â Our food arrived shortly after. Â The roast beef poboys were terrible. Â The bread wasn't crisp like it should be. Â There was no gravy at all. Â Not one drop. Â I would say at best, it tasted like a sandwich you'd make at your house if you were in a hurry and needed something quick to eat. Â The oyster poboy was ok. Â The chicken wings were of the standard pub fare. Â Nothing special. Â
Overall, this place was a huge letdown. Â Worst part is we had an out of town guest with us for the weekend. Â It's sad that we wasted a meal here in a town with so many wonderful places to eat. Â
Cons: Â Poor food and poor service. Â Refused to offer me military discount (if they even have one).
