Ive dropped in twice & each time waited over 30 min for a menu. The place only had 4-5 tables of people (2-4people at each) and waited almost another 30 min for someone to take an order that we walked out. Server was too busy talking with those in the bar & other tables
If I could eat here for breakfast and lunch everyday, I might be fat, but I would be happy!
I love the food, I love the staff, and I love the kitschy decor. Â
They never get snippy about substitutions, their portions are huge, the food is great, and everything comes with a smile. Â Check it out, you won't regret it.
The Tumbleweed really surprised me. Â We went in a huge group of people and the owner/waitress was very friendly, chatty and rolled with the sense of humor of our group. Â The salads were giant, the Friday Clam Chowder was really good and the prices were perfect. Â The prime rib special was an incredible deal. Â It's a simple cafe, but the food is plentiful and hearty. Â If you are in town for wine tasting on Red Mountain and need a place to fuel up mid-day, or after a long day of wine and crackers...the Tumbleweed will really hit the spot and you'll still have plenty of cash for wine purchases the next day!
Review Source:Been here few times now and I must say  we enjoyed every visit .  Last time we're here we all have breakfast.  Me and hubby had CFS and they let us sub the hushbrown with fries.  It was good.  Mom had pancake and Ham and she said it was good too.
We will definitely comeback. Â Maybe try their lunch and dinner.
Great diner offerings in downtown Benton City. Â Came here on a shot in the dark from my Tom Tom GPS for lunch on a Saturday. Â Had low expectations given I had no recommendations or other information.
It was refreshing to get exactly what I was expecting, but with portions bigger than I was expecting. Â I ordered chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns and toast. Â The plate was mounded with a large CFS covered in chicken gravy, perfectly browned grated browns, and two large over easy eggs, ready to be carved up over the top of the hash browns.
All was very good. Â The lone waitress also was just the right level of attentive. Â Nothing here is over $10. Â Didn't experience the "Lounge" half of the building, but it appears to be separate from the cafe.
This place was a pleasant surprise in tiny Benton City, but also was what a diner should be - great vittles for not much dough. Â Can't go wrong here.
And, surprise, the town is right on the freeway if you are on the road making time.
