Last Sunday I decided to pickup breakfast here based on the one review on Yelp. I figured if you can cook soul food for dinner you most certainly can get it done for breakfast. I called ahead and just asked what did they have. The lady on the phone listed every breakfast meat known to man including turkey bacon and sausage. I placed a phone order of pancakes, home potatoes, and sausage. It was very good. I liked the way they make their pancakes. They were fluffy and a little thicker than other places. More like homemade pancakes that grandma would make.
Overall nothing bad to say and I will be picking up breakfast again. They do have a dining area and their kitchen is see thur. Works for me.
Some of the best soul food I've had in Chicago. Â The batter on the fried chicken was crisp and flavorful; the cornbread was so good I burned my mouth eating it while too hot. Â Our fried okra, red beans, and black eye peas were all perfect. Â Â Between us, a friend and I had two mains, four sides, cornbread, and a coke, all for $18, and had to take some home. Â The decor is spartan -- think Harold's or KFC Â -- but the food is at least as good as more sit-down soul food places like Izola's or Army and Lou's.
