Verona Pizza

I love Verona Pizza, but the one in Portage, IN is SO much better. The one on Calumet Ave and the one on Hohman Avenue (I don't think is there anymore)...I don't know, there is something about it.
I can't stand flies that fly around, a dirty floor and a front door that keeps opening and closing because of children running in and out..
Verona Pizza in Portage has NONE of this. I know it's a drive from Hammond, but if you want pizza the way VERONA PIZZA was intended - go to the one in Portage, IN.
* Please note: The pizza at the Verona Pizza on Calumet Avenue and the pizza at Hohman Avenue Verona Pizza are still AWESOME pizzas - don't get me wrong.
I just don't like the atmosphere, it makes me uncomfortable.

They put Italian beef on pizza.  Sweet!  Honestly, I feel they could do with a better sauce BUT the pizza is still way above average and much better than most in the area.

Tried it out tonight.

I liked the pizza. The sauce had a hint of sweetness. I also ordered the cream cheese and cheddar poppers. Maybe its just me; however, it would have been nice if the menu included the fact that the contained a HUGE jalapeño pepper surrounding the cheese! Other than that everyone in the fam enjoyed it.
