Victoria House Vic's Pub

We are locals who will continue to patronize Vic's because we like the atmosphere. The problem is selecting a menu item that a chef/cook can't ruin. I ordered a Chilean sea bass entree that came with a tomato/spinach saute over rice.The fish was overcooked and the saute was greasy and unexpectedly sweet, which for me was a turn off. It was surrounded by an overabundance of split cherry tomatoes in the bed of rice. Before eating my salad,which came with the entree, I had to remove several very browned pieces of lettuce. Very overpriced for the poor quality of the dish. Best to stick to soups, salad, sandwiches and bar food. Higher end fare is rather unpredictable.

I wish Yelp went to a half star system so I could give it the 2.5 that I'd like.  I should have trusted the reviews listed here, but I have a few friends that said it was a great place. Our ordered was shorted, the food very bland and staff unprepared for the customers. They listed a special and said they were 1/2 off and the prices showed $6 but the sale was over and would be full price. So I figured $6 was the going rate for an appetizer anyway...little did I know that high price was actually already 1/2 off?!? $12 for a couple chips and dipping sauce? We ordered some cheesesticks, instead of coming with any dipping sauce it came with cream cheese....cream cheese?!? Great, so I can dip my cheese in my side of ummm CHEESE for that extra cheesy taste. A ranch, marinara or even chipotle sauce would've been better.  My tenderloin sandwich was supposed to be served on a "soft kaiser roll" yet came out on a small generic hamburger bun. The steak itself was decent but all together on the bun it was very average. Other order was haddock over rice pilaf. It came out looking very blah and tasting just as bland. The fish was all white but the rice was just a plain white rice so even just looking at the plate wasn't anything appealing.  The salad that was requested never came, despite the extra charge for it. All in all we couldn't get the bill and depart soon enough.

Great atmosphere, love sitting next to the fire on a chilly night. Service is always friendly and prompt. Excellent beer choices. Love the nachos, kids love the chicken, make sure you save room for dessert . Meals at the pub are something the whole family enjoys.
