The pho here is better than in Memphis I can tell you that. The broth was okay. It had flavor and the noodles were cooked well. The springs rolls had too much lettuce, and not enough noodles.
This is the only Vietnamese restaurant in Evansville. The prices are reasonable, and if I lived here, I would be okay coming here for my Vietnamese food needs.
I'm not quite understanding the "terrible" review, because I love this place! Â The pho is authentic and delicious! Â My husband ordered a pork curry dish that was amazing, and everything tasted very fresh. Â The service is great, fast, and the staff is very friendly and personable. Â The portions are also HUGE. Â You might look at the menu and think, "$7 for soup seems kind of steep," but it's enough soup to feed like 4 people!
The spring rolls might be the best I've ever had. Â The prices are good too, you'll spend as much as you would at a fast food restaurant, but leave feeling satisfied, not gross, and very full!
This place is terrible. Not in the, "I'm going to puke," kind of way, but in the "I can't believe they're passing this off as Vietnamese food" way. When I came through, their pho didn't even have the proper broth--in fact, it tasted like a beef broth that came from a can. Also, their spring rolls had barbeque pork in them, and the pork was warm. W.T.F. Since when did spring rolls have barbeque pork? Wait a second, since when were spring rolls warm? And seriously, Vietnamese Cuisine? That's what you name your restaurant? Sweet. I'll stop by, on my way to pick up a new car stereo at Loud Ass Speakas (I decided spelling it that way makes it more "street," which is what I assume the owner of a car stereo shop would be gunning for).
The only reason this place gets two stars is because a.) they at least had the guts to open a Vietnamese restaurant in Evansville, Indiana of all places, and b.) they have a painting--by definition, I guess it's a fresco--that says "Pho Fever."
I don't care how bad your food is, that's awesome.
Mmm... green papaya salad with tofu and ginger tofu noodles make my tummy happy! Â Seriously, the flavors here are fantastic-- my only wish is that the spring rolls had a bit more taste to them. Â The broccoli in the veggie noodles is especially good and I could probably eat the papaya salad every day. Â I absolutely love that they have good vegetarian options! Â The owners are very friendly and gracious-- wonderful energy in the place. Â I will definitely be back often.
