There was a large party in the events room that arrived after my little party of 4 and were able to get seated, order, recieve their food....EAT and LEAVE... before we got our pizza. Granted the place was obviously short staffed, but the waitress kept darting past our table like somehow our pizza was going to order itself, We sat for a half an hour before she came to take the order and that was only after I complained to the hostess. Again, trying to consider that she was serving a large party we laughed it off, but when the table who came in 45 mins after us was able to get their pizza before us all bets were off.
The pizza is good... I will give them that, but that is ALL I will give them. This was a systemic failure. If the wait staff cant handle the floor then the runners need to step up and help (ahem MANAGEMENT)  the runner on tonight was too busy flirting with the hostess to be bothered. There was not one apology for the crappy service and in fact when she did make time for our table she was acting like we hadnt been there for over 2 hours. Never again.

I'll keep it simple. The best thin crust pizza within 50 miles.

We often order from here when we are feeling too lazy to cook or go out... this seems occur fairly often on Sundays.  My boyfriend is a huge fan of the double decker pepperoni pizza, which I had never even heard of before.  They also have a really good chopped salad here.  I was worried because a person who reviewed Village previously said it was terrible, but we have ordered it on multiple occasions now and never had an issue with it.  We have ordered a couple other pizzas from here and never been disappointed.  One of my friends insisted that we try a pizza with pineapple and jalapenos here and we were pleasantly surprised!  We have never dined in... just done carry out!

I had my rehearsal dinner at the old Village Pizza years and years ago when I married hubby numero uno. I've always been a fan.

However, at my last visit a couple weeks ago with some friends and their kids, I was a bit disappointed.

Our server hardly paid us any attention. Our pizza came out luke-warm and the beer was the same temp as the pizza... that's just not right.

The kids had a blast coloring, throwing peanut shells on the floor and looking at the fish.

We took our leftovers home and ate them the next day for lunch. Reheated in the oven, the pizza was delicious!

I am going to state right up front, Pizza was cold,  beer was not,  We did the family night out,  and instead of hitting the local mexicaneria...or subshop ."The guys"were drawn into peanuts you can toss on the floor and double decker pizzas.  " The gals" were drawn in by the hostess who kept our kids supplied with crayolas and drawing papers almost all night.          It took forever to get drinks and longer to get the food.   Grumpy kids makes for a really long night.     We may try again..  maybe not for a while.

I only have a few places in the Chicagoland area that I get my pizza and Village Pizza is one of those places. I have been going here since they were located in the strip mall next door. Even in their new location, the quality of their pizza hasn't changed. The place is a little different, but they still kept the atmosphere of the old place.

Again, their pizza is perfect. I don't know how to describe it in detail, but it is absolutely great. The crust, sauce, topping and cheese are cooked perfectly. I'm not as much of a fan of the Randall Road location, but maybe that is because I am still used to the old location. Still, it is amazing. I usually get a large thin crust sausage. I never tried their double decker pizza, but I here it is good as well.

The pizza is excellent but the service is lacking. We had to wait 10 minutes just to get a table and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant yet. The pizza made the wait worthwhile though.

The pizza's good, I'll grant them that.  My sister insisted her fried zucchini appetizer (served with ranch and faux nacho cheese--random) tasted "fishy."  The service is spotty and the ambiance is just plain weird.  It's as if they're striving to be a mix between Nick's and JJ Twigs, but they fall short.  I've heard a lot of raving reviews from others, so perhaps I had high expectations.  Or maybe they were having an "off" night, but I probably won't be back...

Okay for pizza this place is great but holy cow... (1)Why hang up pictures of beer in your joint if you don't serve it (Killians Red). In fact no one serves this so when I tried to order one I was very disapointed too hear that they no longer had it. (2) Wife got a salad with a bread stick that was completely chared on one side - I mean black! The guy who was running the place looked at her and asked - "Are you okay with that?"

Really? No we like our bread sticks burnt - they taste way better that way... Not even the look on my wifes face got through to this guy. He turned away and never came back.

(3)Salad was old - moldy. We waited for the pizza to complain so after the pizza arrived my wife went to speak with the Manager and explained that the salad was old and moldy (brown) and that she was not pleased with the breadstick. He came back to the table and said that the salad was all bad and they threw it out.

Now I love this place but this is exactly how these establishments go down the tubes and frankly it was nothing more than lazyness. That said they are getting 2 stars from me.

We will go back and I hope to change the rating.

Good pizza is very hard to find this far west in the Northwest suburbs.  I became so frustrated with bad pizza, I refused to order it.  You have cardboard-like crust or chewy crust.  Sauce that is so sugary sweet it is like candy.  Bad-tasting cheese, canned mushrooms??  Yuck.  Go out of business, please.

Village Pizza has saved me from never eating pizza again.  I like my pizza with an extra thin crust, baked light and crispy.  I like sauce that is light tasting and not squirting all over because too much is put on.  I like fresh toppings.  Village pizza is the place!

Plus everyone loves pigging out on the free peanuts while waiting for the food.  The staff is always friendly and service is prompt.

Finally we have a place that gives me what I want.  I am eating pizza once again!

Village Pizza on Randall Road in Algonquin is just like the new Village Pizza in Carpentersville.  It was a good move to remodel and expand.  We will always choose Village Pizza when we are in the mood for a pie.  Keep up the good work!

    Back in the groove!

Been going to "The Village" for over 20 years and love the pizza, ambiance, and servers (especially Violet)

Pleased to report the "new place" has restored it all (including Violet)

Up and running and as good as ever!!!  This has become my family's go to pizza place for years and I'm so happy the new place is open.

I've been going here since I was in high school, over 25 years ago and I've never had a bad pizza here.  Great service, outstanding owners and great pizza!!!!

Village Pizza will ALWAYS get my family's business!!!!

I like this place, despite what my dad has said about it.
I like the pizza there, it's not bad. It has a nice crispy crunch to it when you bite into it. I haven't had any sandwiches there but I know that they have them.
I also like the way the place is decorated. With a large moose head over by the fireplace and even a "mutant" bunny-beaver type creature (heads switched), it creates a nice atmosphere.

I began working here in my early teens and it was the best pizza then and is still the reigning king of pizza (save Italian wood fired oven).  I have driven fifty miles when I just needed some..

And their sandwiches are awesome.  Call me Beef with Mega Cheese Please.  A running joke because I actually had a perfect beef to cheese ratio figured out in my head.

Friendly neighborhood pub and carry out place that is warm and accomodating and always a piece of my heart!

One of the last meals on earth my mom ate was a Number 7.  Cheese Sausage and Mushroom.  Or it used to be,either way, that says alot doesn't it?

Love Village and after twenty some years, still know the number by heart!
