I agree with the review that once the Muni moved to the new building, it went from a 4 star to a one star.  When their cooks went back to Ecuador, added different managers and new servers, the service and food  were no longer amazing except for a few servers.  When one complains of the food, the one new manager Greg only says, "I will talk to the cooks" but never comes back and never offers a different item on the menu. It is very sad because we LOVED the OLD Wayzata Bar and Grill.  We will NOT go back as we have tried numerous times and this time, said, that is it - we are done!
Review Source:I teetered between two and three stars on this one. Â I've been here about 3-4 times, mostly because they are convenient, but the reason I picked 2 stars was due to the rude waitress the last time. Â I stopped in with a friend who had never played pull tabs so we were going to get a drink and sit at a table and spend some money. Â I don't know if it's because we looked 30 years younger than the Wayzata clientele or what, but the waitress was rude from before she even got to the table. Â She was frowning as she walked up and before she even asked us if we wanted menus or drinks she demanded an ID...hello, I'm 32....I don't look 16. Â You approached that one way too wrong!! Â Needless to say, we showed her our ID's and didn't order drinks. Â I'm not going to give a place anymore service after attitude like that. Â I like the place up until then. Â Not quite sure if I'll be back after the last time. Â It's definitely more of a local's place but hey, it's Minnesota...being nice goes a long ways!!
Review Source:Ever since moving to their new location, the food and service went completely down hill. They are skimpy on portions, the food is less than average. Your money is better spent down the road at Sunset's.
The establishment is super concerned with measuring every little molecule and it shows. Nothing even remotely tastes like it is home made. I understand the need to cut costs, but at what price is this place sacrificing customers coming back?
While the cute exterior is warm and inviting, the interior is loud and cramped. Granted, it's a bar... but you still feel a bit like you are sitting right on top of the people next to you.
The food was just so-so. I had a reuben that was fairly dry and bland... definitely not something I would care to order again.
Our server basically ignored us once she discovered we weren't there to drink (we went because we had heard the food was great). It took forever to get refills on the tea and soda that we did order.
This place wasn't horrible... It's just not somewhere I would go out of my way to get to.
I have to admit, it took me awhile to figure out that the Wayzata Bar & Grill = The Wayzata Muni'. Â It's pretty darn nice for a Muni'...of course....it's Wayzata!
In any case, after a couple stops, it's not really worth writing home about.Pretty average...not much character. It does get really crowded. The menu is slightly expensive, but if you get ther durring Happy hour, you can get a $3 glass of wine, and a plate of fries and good (big) chicken strips for something like $4. They also have free popcorn.
Um negative ghost rider. Â Interior was strange and uninviting. Â It looked like they simply threw some tables into an old warehouse. Â It was gray and unoriginal. Â Waitress was rude. Â Food was subpar. Â Ordered the greek salad and left hungry. Â The table ordered the carrot cake which, I'm not a fan to begin with, but it looked gross and everyone at the table said it was not carrot cake. Â Looked like a quick bread that they made from the box, then opened some store bought icing and spred. Â Probably fine just for some drinks but actual dinner there is not worth the calories.
Review Source:Oh, the muni.
I remember my parents running into the connected liquor store to grab a bottle of something before we would head up north to the cabin, but until today had never set a foot inside myself.
It's one of "those bars" with popcorn and pull tabs, so basically, it's fantastic. Â And it's owned by the City of Wayzata which makes the whole place kind of hysterical because it's just a bit grimy. Â But the grime is what makes it rock.
They have Blue Moon and Fat Tire on tap and a menu full of classic bar food. Â Had a plate of fries to nosh on while we enjoyed a drink and they were perfectly crispy. Â The server we had was friendly and not overbearing, which was pleasant since we only stopped by for a beer.
It has exactly the right amount of character to make me want to come back again.
