KAROAKE ISSUES - WEEKEND UPDATE: Â
I received a call from Ray the Commander at the Hopkins American Legion around 6 p.m. this evening.
He received my customer complaint letter and spoke to Carolyn about it as well as Woody the bar tender and Stumpy.
The bartender from Saturday also informed him of the altercation that occurred on Saturday night.after I voiced my concerns to him.
Ray was out of town camping and was not available to talk to till today.
Ray was very disappointed in the actions of Franco/Dave the karoake DJ and his actions towards us. Â As well as hearing about my conversation with Brad Howerton the owner of B.H. Entertainment.
He said that there are no such rules from the American Legion that you have to purchase anything or particularly an alcoholic beverage in order to participate in their karoake night. Â Their Legion is open to the public for all. Â He did say that loitering is not allowed on the premises. Â
He will be speaking to Franco/Dave and Brad Howerton the owner of B.H. Entertainment and let them know that this weekend will be their last event at the Hopkins American Legion. Â They have a convention already scheduled with them this weekend, but he will be replacing them immediately.
Ray said that he would reach out to me again once a new karoake DJ is hired for their Saturday night karoake nights.
Thank you for the apology from the Hopkins American Legion!!!

Step back in time and experience the American Legion in all its glory.
Whoever is manning the grill and deep fryer has their sh_t together. Â They have 6-12 daily specials with items like tilapia tacos, walleye as big as your head (I'm not kidding), GREAT burgers, polish sausages, old school mash potatoes and gravy...the list goes on. Â Throw in a pitcher of Summit EPA (cheap) and you have a fully balanced meal.
The great servers are simply a bonus. Â You need to experience them to know what I mean.
This place would never have come on my radar if not for my erudite co-workers. Â A few of them believe they are qualified for membership given their American Legion Baseball experience. Â I hope they are right but if not, the Hopkins Legion is more than happy to entertain and feed them and you.
