Enjoyed dinner here for the first time on Feb. 19 with my sister and her husband from WA. Can't wait to go back on Mar. 6 - Fantastic! Server Derek was intelligent, available, kind, and did not intrude on our evening. The food was unbelievable - love, love, love the philosophy of only creating menu offerings from what is in season. The pheasant, micro salad, and puff pastry dessert all worth racing back for. Can't wait to try something different on the 6th, though! Love the intimate setting.

I am so surprised that more folks don't know about this restaurant, and that we actually got a last moment table on Saturday night. This is one of the best American fine dining restaurants we have been to in Minneapolis.
The concept of using only in season veggies, fruits and meat is lovely, and the food was very creative and fresh.
I am a vegetarian and my husband loves fish, and we always find it a challenge to stumble upon a restaurant that is good at fish and vegetables. In Season did not default to the standard gnocchi that places that are afraid of doing vegetarian food default to. Instead I had a lovely warm polenta with mushrooms and fennel, and a sweet potato soup. And they allowed for substitutions and omissions from the rest of the menu too.
The wine list is small, but the wines are great! Both the wines that we tried were great, and there was another one on the list that we have had in the past and know to be amazing. It just confirmed the sommelier's taste for us:)
The ambience and art is warm and inviting and gives you the feeling that you've stumbled upon a cozy place in New York's west village. And getting reservations through email was super easy, and they were very gracious and fast with the responses.
I don't think that we'll find a sitter for Valentine's day, but those of you that can get out, get reservations here!!

In Season is a phenomenal eatery. The name says it all--this restaurant is truly dedicated to creating a menu entirely based around what is in season, fresh and available.

I've been to In Season in the summer months, and recently in the winter as well. The menu was completely different, and spectacular.

Expect smaller, flavorful portions. Get the small plates. Like, a few of them. The salads are great, the flatbread is superb and there's usually a unique second course I go for.  This winter, a smoke rabbit soup was amazing and loaded with smoky flavor. Definitely a highlight.

Now, the spot. South minneapolis. Small. Call for reservations. Like, less than 40 people in the dining room. In the summer, the patio holds about 15 - 20 diners. And, oddly, the crowd is usually pretty old. We mentioned it to a server once, she just said that's it's in a bit of an older, more established neighborhood. The demographic isn't bad, just different. I'm totally fine being on the younger end.

Highly recommend this spot for seasonable food, a great neighborhood cafe feel and a pretty impressive wine list. Expect to spend about $20 - 30/person, without alcohol.
