Surdyk's Flights makes me oh so happy.
I'm a pretty easy traveller. Â I find turbulance exciting, am used to being delayed and don't even mind being seated next to the chatty Cathy on a flight*.
Everytime I fly out of MSP though, I feign pre-flight jitters and convince myself that I need to stop into Surdyk's for a glass of wine before boarding. Â Their wine line is fantastic and their flights are a great deal.
I have loved their food, desserts and snacks and grabbing something here is INFINITELY better than whatever junk your airline has available for you mid-flight.
Your bill is brought to you in a passport case, which is the mose adorable thing EVER. Â The last time I was there they had Earl Grey tea-infused vodka which I have been obsessed with ever since.
Normally I would appreciate their laid-back approach to service, but it's an airport so could we please move things a long a *titch* faster? Â
This place is exceptional all around, though. Â Treat yourself the next time you're in the airport; I will guarantee that it will set you off on the absolute right note.
*Exception being seating in the middle seat. NOTHING is worse.
It doesn't get better than this - a must for any traveler @MSP!
Hands down Surdyk's Flights is the best restaurant/bar I've been do at any airport in the world. Fresh food, fab service, ultra-pleasant atmosphere for breakfast, lunch, snack-time and dinner. Surdyk's is my go-to for a yummy grab-and-go food before I hit a long flight. The skinny baguette with freshly sliced prosciutto hits the spot or the heirloom tomato and mozzarella sandwich is a nice, light meal.
If you got a bit more time, a layover or a dreaded delay, make it more pleasant by enjoying one of the comfy booths with personal TVs. The hot paninis or fresh salads are always made to order. And the bacon-n-eggs panini is to die for during breakfast. Cheese and meat plates make a nice sharing option if you're dining with a companion.
And did I mentioned they've got an outstanding selection of wine? After all, that's what Surdyk's is known for. All menu items have suggested wine parings, but you can also get your vino on enjoying one of the many wine flight options. Don't like wine, don't worry they have cocktails and beer, too!
My only question - when will you be opening more?! How about one in Uptown, please?! :D
